We will be attending BJP this year Aug 2-9th; the cost will be $400. We have 20 spots so sign-up early! Camp is for ages 9-14. We will be providing transportation to and from the camp by a 50 passenger bus. Brunswick and Pender County will also be riding with us. Bring a lunch and learn about the beach ecosystem! We will also be visiting the sea turtle hospital at Topsail beach.
(Tentative agenda – summer camp ):
1. Environmental day- We will be taking an eco-tour of greenfield lake and riding the paddle boats
2. Marine science day, eco kayaking trip in the marsh, dissecting a fish and starfish
3. Chemistry Day: water quality, making slides and looking at them under microscope, work on metric system and measuring in grams on scales
4. Rocks, Soils and the ground: I know that we are breaking open goes and going over how they are formed, ground water
5. The youth will be taking a boat ride to Masonboro lake and learning about the marine life along the way! We will then have lunch on the island, go for a swim and take a nature hike while we are there!
Ages 5-12 year olds
They will be broken in age groups and rotated through the stations.

Learn about our giant pachyderms, striped equines and ungulates, as we discover the importance of the African Savanna. Checking out an elephant hide and a rhino horn are just a couple of the ways we will get to know more about these animals and their role in this special ecosystem. This zoo snooze also provides hands on activities to learn about African culture.
Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the giraffe barn. You’ll have the opportunity to meet with a zookeeper, visit the inside of the giraffe barn, and see the giraffes up close.
For ages 7-12 cost $60
Cooking class for 10-15 year olds. $50 for the 4 days, the youth will have a full lunch each day of what they made.
Electric Congress: must complete an electric project to attend but is free
District Activity Day: Youth give presentations (Free) June 26th
Teen Camp in Raleigh: $250, they have a dance, workshops, fashion show and much more! July 20-24th
Ability Garden: There will be two sessions for mentally and physically challenged youth
Fur Fish And Game Camp: Just what you may have been waiting for! Information about the upcoming Fur Fish and Game Camp to be held June 21 - 26, 2009 at Millstone 4-H Camp in Ellerbe. Cost for the weeklong camping experience is just $325. This includes lodging, meals and all program expenses.

Don't forget that you can receive money for this event if you participate in District Activity Day. This can be a presentation or talent. Congress is also where 4-H Fashion Show is held! Make and outfit and strut your stuff down the run way! The camp is $250 and will be July 19-23rd 2010.
