About National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society was established in 1929 and is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students.

More than just an honor roll, NJHS exists to honor the students who have demonstrated excellence in the five pillars of the National Honor Society:

Four main purposes have guided chapters from the beginning:

  • To create enthusiasm for scholarship
  • To stimulate a desire to render service
  • To promote leadership
  • To develop character in students

This honor has been bestowed upon those students who have earned a cumulative grade point average for middle school of 3.6 and above and have been recommended by their teachers for observed dedication to the five pillars of the National Junior Honor Society.

Each year, members will commit to:

  • 40 hours of community service
  • 85% attendance to all NJHS meetings and fundraising functions
  • GPA of 3.6 or above
  • $5.00 yearly membership dues

This web-site has been created as a resource to provide the National Junior Honor Society Students at Ramblewood Middle School with information they need on tutoring, fundraising, service hours and important events.  We encourage you to check the site on a regular basis for updates on what NJHS is doing at RMS!
