Claying in my new studio

Well, finally took my first steps into the studio to clay, didn't last long my back started to hurt so bad I had to stop and go lay down. That was about a month ago, since then I went on a gluten free diet and it was amazing the difference in my back was like night and day.I'd like to say I'm totally pain free almost but not yet. After 18yrs. of babying my back the muscles are a little weak so I still get some pain if I over do it but each day it gets better and better.I haven't said the word ouch in a month, lol.Gluten free isn't easy it is in a lot of things not just your food it is in your medicine, shampoo, tooth paste etc.
The best news is I'm back to the clay table working on some cross pendants to earn money to go towards repairs at my church plus I'll be starting work on a  full size Mary and Joseph for the churches nativity scene soon, and I have a commission piece I need to start so I'm going to be busy. Will post pictures of my progress soon. Loving it.

Progress

Well almost done painting have a second coat on the trim to do and some fixing of bleed over than I'll put the studio together. Found the neatest dresser for storage of my clay and other things, have to paint it first doing that today I hope.My frig was delivered yesterday cute little thing, black with a faux stainless front.Pavers also were delivered for my patio so had my grandson dig the dirt out for the patio.he did a fabulous job,Thank-you Zach. Didn't have a clue just how hard it would be to get all this done I'm exhausted at the end of each day and my back and hips hate me,lol. Soon it will be done and I'll be able to create something, cross your fingers and toes cause my muse has been on a very long hiatus.I'm getting lots of ideas but than nothing poof gone.It will come back it always does and when it does I'll be ready.Oops forgot to download pics so I could upload here, will post pics later today.

Pics are up

Almost forgot the before pics so had started the priming but remembered before I finished.Who ever had painted this room before me must have been a Sea hawks fan the room is blue and green. Here are the pics.

New place new start

Pretty much every one knows about the fire that we had a couple of months back. That is now in the past and our new life can begin,we finally moved into a new place. We still need lots of things but we have the basics so we are good. I have a new studio something I have never had before and I'm very excited to get it painted and decorate it.However my back is out from the move, lol if it ain't one thing it is another oh well that's life, right.I will be posting pictures of before and after and during so hang in there and I'll be seeing you all soon. I promise really I do,it won't take months just a day or so,lol.

Change in the air

Wow,looking back I haven't been at the clay table aside from a few swaps at CoC and a special request for a very long time.I'm slowly getting the desire back to start making things again, not enough to do it but enough to start getting lined up and ready for that day when I wake up and want to start claying. I don't want anything standing in my way cause I might just sit down and say forget it. I haven't yet come out of the depression I've been in but I can feel a change in the air of a new dawn coming. The ideas for projects is brewing steadily in my head this is another thing I haven't felt in awhile and it feels good. I'm hoping the desire to create returns soon I've tried making things without it and all I get is squat.
Anyways just popped in to let you all know that I'm starting to feel a whole lot better.Hoping to be in full swing by Spring. Love and Hugs,Peabody

Luck doesn't run in families

If you don't believe it just take a  good look at my life.I have been living under a cloud for so long now I don't know what it's like not to,lol.I count my blessings every day,it's the only thing keeping me from the dark side of depression.Been there in my life time and will not go back.Have you ever had a day when nothing seems to go right well multiply that by 365 days+.
The latest thing is my computer has decided to quit working,4 months past the warranty, that's I'm sure one of Murphy's laws, lol. The bad thing is I can't replace it not  for a long time to come.I'm disabled and on a fixed income a very small fixed income. My grandson's,god bless their souls, have been kind enough to loan me their mini notebooks while they are in school.
The bad thing is these little notebooks just don't have the umpf  that I need.I can check my mail and check what's going on in FB although slowly.I have been checking freecycle daily so far nothing,so I thought I could try asking if any one here just happens to have an old computer tower kicking around that still works,I could pay for shipping and maybe a tiny bit more.
That being said I think I'll go count my blessings of which I do have many.Thank-you for listening.Hugs Peabody

Audition update

After a very successful concert with Wayne Bergeron and a spring concert,Josh opens his e-mail today and finds to his excitement a congratulation we are pleased to let you know you have been accepted into the Puget Sound Youth Wind Ensemble. Plus he thought he wasn't going to be able to go to DC to march in the fourth of July parade with his class, due to the fact we just can't afford it.But again he has been blessed a wonderful benefactor  has stepped forward and offered to pay for the balance of his trip. This kid has got to be the luckiest most blessed kid around these parts.

Update on Grandsons audition

Went to Josh's audition today it went very well. When he comes out of the room smiling that is a very good sign.Found out they are looking to expand their clarinet section and they need someone who is able to play all the clarinets, and guess what Josh is the only one auditioning that can and has access to all the clarinets.Cross your fingers but it looks like he is in.I watched the guy taking the money for the audition and he was saying nice, very nice, wow very nice high end,I think at least he was impressed.lets hope the judge was.And more good news they have financial aid, yes. Not sure how soon we will know if he is in but I'll let you know as soon as I know.Wish him luck.

Raffle is out

Well,So much for a raffle.According to Washington State rules you have to be a charitable organization, and you can not sell raffle tickets over the internet. So that's out,Thank-you Luny cause I would not have thought it would be illegal but here in Washington it is a felony to raffle over the internet. So back to square one figuring out how to make the money.

Possible Raffle

Boy it's been a long long time since I have visited my own site.Just a quick update most of you already know what's going on in my life.Repairs to my RV still not started due to all the rain here in good ole Washington but the weather is due to change eventually and the repairs will get done.I'm finally getting involved with my clay again joined a couple of very fun swaps.Health wise well let's just say I could be better but I'm not dying so that's good, lol. Now to the reason that brought me here in the first place.I need to raise some money for my grandson so he can attend Puget Sound Youth Wind Ensemble. He is a very talented musician and his dreams are to become a musician/conductor.As you know every thing costs money.Any way what I'm thinking about is Raffling off a OOAK art piece.I'm working on a new piece now one of my large fish.I think this will be one of my best pieces to date.I thought about e-bay or one of the other sites like it but because of the economy art is just not selling that great. So that's why I'm thinking raffle. What do you think could it work say $1.00 per ticket. If you have any other ideas let me know.I'll post some pics of the fish I have made so you all can see the work I do with fish. Thanks for listening to me and hope I hear back from you on any ideas you might have on raising money in these hard financial times.

Banshee Screams

Have you ever been so frustrated all you could do is let out one huge Banshee Scream?Been there and yes done that.In fact at 6:15 am this morning I probably woke the whole neighborhood with the volume of my scream. I'm so sorry if I woke anyone that was not my intentions.Huh,oh,you want to know why I'm screaming at that hour.
Well, it is a combination of events, We have been having some very cold cold weather, unusually cold really. Four nights ago it was also very windy well a huge Madrona tree well it was more like half the tree, decided to fall onto my motor home.Seems to be minimal damage from that,Thank God,Just need it to be removed. To take precautions against freezing my water system I left a faucet running in the bathroom. My grandson has been in and out on a daily basis,he has seen it running has never turned it off nor asked why it was running.I could swear I told him why but maybe not.Well you guessed it he turned the water off last night and didn't say a word.I fell asleep watching Leno,at about 1 am I wake up and go to get me some water and no water. So I go check on the bathroom to make sure I'm not making ice sculptures in there and that's when I find out Joshua turned off the faucet.
I wish the black cloud that I'm standing under and can't seem to shake would just go away, enough's,enough.
Time to count my blessings again need to remind myself just how blessed I am.Trying very hard to focas on the good not the bad.

Winter Fest 2009

Hi everyone,
Just finished up Winter Fest and The Eagles Holiday Bazaar.Posted Pictures of Winter fest as Promised.I had so much fun at these events, learned a whole lot about selling and what sells, what doesn't sell. Already planning next year.

Sad Update

Most of you already know that my Hubby passed away Oct.20th. I'm doing well and will be busy the next few weeks getting ready for Winter Fest.Ill post pics after that of the things I have made new and the table setup.I'm the Chairperson this year for the Band Booster parents,it wasn't easy at first but I had committed myself to help, so decided I could use the detraction.
Glad I did because it forces me to do something other than mope and that's a good thing. So wish me lots of sales it all goes to send the kids to March in the annual 4th of July parade  in Washington DC  2010.Well. off I go to get my hands into my clay.Poof

Sorry I have not been around

Hi everyone,
I'm really sorry to have not updated this site.I have been going through a very stressful time as of late.Had my grandson in the hospital for three weeks over an appendix rupture than once home I had to administer his meds through a picc IV.At the same time my hubby gets very sick and has to retire from his job, still nursing him.He is still very ill and the doctors are not sure what is wrong. So as you can see I have my hands full.
I will try to get some more pics up of what I'm working on as soon as I can.

Enjoying a break

Sitting at my computer desk, a hot cup of coffee in hand enjoying the break from the 102 degrees we had yesterday. The marine air has come in and it is a wonderful 69 degrees later today it will be in the 90's very unusual for Washington state. I'm not used to this kind of heat spend a good part of the day standing under a cold shower, lol, No AC.Well, I do have AC but I need a 50 amp hookup for my Rv and I only have a 30 amp hookup,so the best I can get is the fan and it does a great job of pushing hot air, lol.
I do my cleaning and claying early in the morning, clay in this kind of weather is way to soft to do anything with it and cleaning in the heat, huh,it's hard enough for me to get excited about that let alone doing it in the heat, that ain't gonna happen.
I'm still working on getting the covered pens done for the band booster's, that's a whole other subject that I will write on soon.I have the pens covered in black and the hawk heads on 30 pens now just have to add the features.I'm heading off now to do that before it gets hot.Talk to y'all later.

In the beginning

The BRC's that you see above is the beginning of my sculpting. Before the BRC's I was dabbling in polymer clay making abstract's and pictures. Not until I went over the road with my hubby with just the minimal amount of clay and no tools did I attempt sculpting.I asked my dear friends over at CoC to challenge me to sculpt something, anything and the response was wonderful.I gave my self 10 hrs. of driving time to create these little sculpts,I would than take a picture the following morning. After taking pictures and posting them I would than smash my creation and start anew.
Now for anyone that has traveled our beautiful country you know just how bad some of the roads can be.For those that have been stay at homes, well let me just say this, the Bumpy road creations(B.R.C's) are a good name for these little guys, lol

Good to see you with a website up again, dear! Still have your picture waiting to be hung--I want to put it up in my studio but don't have any wall space here. It'll have to wait until we move, I fear. I'll definitely add you to my RSS reader so I can keep up with what's going on with you.
