Cruising - ourcruises1

Our first cruise was to Alaska in 2004, after deciding that we wanted a holiday that was a bit different to our usual fare. We combined that trip with some day hiking in the Talkeetna Mountains.

Cruising does tend to have a reputation that is both warranted and not, but I like the fact that you unpack once, you are very well looked after, the food is wonderful, there is lots to do on the ship, or nothing at all, you can be with people or by yourself, and we visit some amazing places. The time in port is usually short, so we tend to pick one or two things to do rather than skim across the top of many things. I figure we can always return to a place if we really like it, and explore it at our own pace.

So, I plan to use cruising as our main vacation mode for the time being, at least until I tire of it! The site is devoted to keeping a record of our cruises for me and friends and family to enjoy. Each page has photos, a map showing where we stopped, and a trip journal with some more details.
