Thanks for visiting our site. We hope you enjoy the pictures and thoughts of our trip to Madeira Beach, Florida.
We had the best time in Florida! The beach, pool and Busch Gardens. Everything was as close to normal and perfect as one family could hope for. Kolton and Sophie did well on the drive there and home. 24 hours in a van with 2 kids, well, you just never know how that will turn out. Lucky for us, they did a great job. We went to the beach every day, except Wednesday. That is the day we went to Busch Gardens. It was 100 degrees outside and in the park we were able to stay cool with the misters and lots of water. Kevin went on a scary roller coaster. I believe it was in the kids part of the park. He told the little girls behind him to ignore him if he screamed like a little girl. Sounds like him. He and Kolton, both, did the ride walk through on the boat that goes all the way around. Then they fooled mama by pretending they went on it. I even took a picture of the boat upside down. (I just looked for an orange shirt *thinking that it was my couragous husband and son* NOT. haha Sophie walked all over the park and when she was tired, she backed up and wanted to sit back on her throne. She was tall enough for almost all of the rides this year! I don't know who was more excited, her or Kolton. He was the one who wanted to go with her on her first grown up ride, White Water Rapids. In one of the photos you can see her sitting to Kevin's left. I paid some kids .75 cents to squirt Sophie, Kolton and Kevin when they went by. That was hilarious watching them get soaked and laughing. It was so much fun seeing her having fun. Kolton, too. Sophie enjoyed all the animals and she signed everyone of them. Her dada and I were so amazed at how much she DOES know. Kolton was able to see, first hand, gorillas in their man-made natural habitats. This made him happy since that is what his endangered species school project was. He was such a good boy. Did not ask for one thing. He was just happy we were there and his little sister was doing so well. This trip will go down as one of our favorite vacations.
This was our first trip with just Kevin, Kim, Kolton and Sophie. It was very much needed after the month of May that we had. We also had decided that Sophie was ready for a trip of this magnitude. Before, she would not have had such a great time. With all that she has to deal with, the feedings, medicines, therapies, her life in general would not have allowed it before now. Her dada and I are so glad that we waited and went when we did. Our trip was WONDERFUL and the memories that we made will last a lifetime.
