This website has warmed my heart in more ways than one! Emma the humminbird brings new meaning to peace, tranquility and sanity for me! No matter what is going on in life for me I can turn on Emma and it's like instantly calming! I dont get out often (disability) and the joy I get from Emma, the chatters and CALadyDI on Ustream makes day to day alot easier for me. I have met the nicest people from all over the world! I have a friend in all of them! It is unlike any site on Ustream that I have ever been to! Emma with her new orphans is just amazing! She never skipped a beat! You would have never known they werent hers as she fed them seconds after she found out the were placed beside her nest full of her own laid eggs! Got to love her! Diane you will be blessed for all your hard work and dedication! Now, off to watch Emma!

Kay B - I have watched the Decorah Eagles for a few years, and just learned about Emma's nest this year. I have been truly amazed. I have told all my friends about Emma. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your Emma with me. I am 72 years old and Emma is the first thing I go to in the morning. Her beautiful colors always brighten my day and when she is not around I am a wee bit saddened.

We have something in common. My dad loved birds , especially cardinals and Canadian geese. While in a nursing home with Alzheimer's Disease, we enjoyed a pair of cockatiels housed in the garden room. After my dad died, I knew I needed my own parrot. Dad would have loved Gracie, my Panama Amazon! Thanks for sharing about your Grandma Pari.

I really enjoyed the time from eggs to Eddie and Gwen. Emma is wonderful and I hope she starts another nest real soon. Have never been able to get on chat. Also enjoyed all the pictures everyone has been sending about Eddie and his trials and tribulations. I live in Florida and have very few hummers.

I found Emma's nest yesterday and was so elated when I saw a baby. Was more
elated this morning when I witnessed the birthing of another little hummer. I am so thankful for all of the information freely given by the hummer lovers as I have learned so much about these wonderful birds. Hopefully there will be many more to enjoy

We're certain we saw a beginning crack in the second egg last night and are guessing the baby will be out by the time dawn arrives in California, in about two hours? My coworker and I are biologists, and have been watching Emma and her babies with great interest. Today, after having not been on for a few days, we logged back on. We immediately noticed that Hope appears to be a little smaller than Forrest and Iris. We also noticed that Hope's coloration is very orange-y (notice especially the orange "eyebrow" above her eye). This leads us to believe that while Emma, Forrest, and Iris are Anna's Hummingbirds, Hope is an Allen's Hummingbird! Emma is fostering a hummingbird of another species! This makes Emma's story even MORE amazing!

I ;ive in Jacksonville, Fl and have been watching your hummers for about a week. It is wonderful (do you have wind chimes nearby?). I have a pair of hummers that have stayed in my tree in the back yard for 2 years now and even stuck it out thru the cold winter months. I think I am seeing a small one coming to the feeder and assume it may be a baby. I guess I should name them! Thank you for filming this wonderful story.

Just wanted to touch base with you again and tell you that I am over the moon about the new nest. I checked in just as the rebuilding was beginning last week and was so amazed that this beautiful little bird returned to your chandelier-incredible!! And is that not the most gorgeous nest ever???? This morning I had just returned from the gym, turned on my computer just in time to see the egg laid. The best part was that my video of Emma was a hair ahead of the chat so I saw the egg before the chat caught up to the event. I beat you to the "OMG!!! there's an egg!!!"
As I told you last year I am not into being on chat too often, but I am an excellent lurker, but I may jump in one of these days. Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy the whole site! Thanks for all you do.

Hi LadyDi - Thank you so much for letting us watch Emma & Bessie (I know it must be alot of work). I live in Central California and have been a hummingbird fanatic for over 35 years and even though I have many different species that have visited my feeders over the years; I have never been able to observe them up close and personal on the nest. This is such a wonderful thing you are doing in allowing us into your home and seeing a mother hummingbird raising her baby. I love your story about how this began earlier this year when your husband's grandmother passed away & you found out she loved hummingbirds and then you discovered a nest. My mother was a hummingbird lover since I was a child & her & I used to clean & put up the feeders together when I was young. I lost my mother 10 years ago and so when I see a hummingbird in my yard, I feel it's a gift sent from heaven from my mom (kind of like the pennies from heaven only with hummingbirds). I hope you & your daughter will experience the same bond that my mother & I did with hummingbirds. I think what you are doing is amazing & thank you so much for sharing with us. Kathy C.

Hi.. Hummingbirds are one of my favorite. For years now close to the beach (Huntington Beach) I have had what I call "Hummers" fly inside my house, hoover in front of me when on the phone and even fly in front of the livingroom window to let me know they need food !
