OurHummingbirdNest - Poems-n-Thoughts...

~ Thank You Diane and Family ~

Diane, how do we thank you for all that you've done,
You showed us a story and our hearts you have won.
Please accept our thanks before you go,
And know our days spent at your house was a blessing we know!

You were out there with us....talking us through,
A day that for all of us was so very blue...
These three little hummers all fledged the same day,
Breaking our hearts in a "sad-happy" way.

This story of Hope and how she survived,
With the help of a new mother who kept her alive...
Should be written in a book so everyone can read,
How we should help others in their times of need.

Diane, you and your family we'll never forget,
We all got to watch something that we'll never regret.
If "Hope" had a voice we know she would say...
"Thanks...For Being The Wind Beneath My Wings Today!"

~~~Blessings to You and Your Family~~~
Fledging Day
Forrest, Iris and Dear Little Hope,
Your fledging day is soon, no doubt.
We want you to know how much we care,
About your story and it is one that is rare.
When you fledge your nest and tears fill our eyes,
Our hearts will be saddened when we say our goodbyes.
This tale that unfolded here in Emma's nest,
Will forever be with us 'cause it's one of the best.
You three little hummers grew up so fast,
Leaving us with memories we all know will last.
Forever in our hearts we'll carry this story,
How one of these hummers survived with God's Glory.
Sweet little Hope this is her name,
Oh how she struggled but soon rose to fame.
Emma raised you up and you really did thrive,
There were days that we wondered if you would survive.
But you had a new mother who stayed by your side,
And a brother and sister who's wings opened wide...
Greeting you in and we all felt the love,
In this nest that was blessed...by Our Good Lord Above!
Emma's Message of Love
Emma should be wearing a crown on her head,
Because she taught us true love and the message was spread...
If we only take the time to show others we care,
Our world could be filled, with love everywhere!
She has three little babies sitting here in her nest,
Waiting for their Mother who gets little rest.
When she arrives and brings them a meal,
They show her the love and appreciation they feel.
This Dear Little Emma asks nothing in return,
Her only reward would be, if her babies all learn...
When they get older and learn to do new things,
If another bird needs help, please take them under your wings!
~ New Hope... for Hope ~
One of God's little creations so beautiful and small,
Taught us a lesson in life that's suited for all.
What we have all witnessed is a wonderful thing,
How Emma took a new baby under her wing.
She had a new baby arrive in her nest today,
It was placed there for her when she flew away.
Another baby for her and we all hope she can cope,
And accept this little hummer who's birth name is Hope.
Little Hope was alone and in great despair,
And couldn't find her birthmother anywhere.
An accident happened and from her nest she fell,
But she was picked up and is now doing well.
Little Hope was now homeless and without her mother,
A new home was found with a sister and brother.
When she grows up and leaves her new nest,
She'll be thankful for her "Mother Emma" 'cause she is the Best!
Hi Diane,
I know that everyone in your group has been devastated by the news of the terrible murder of Jenna and I am hoping I have something for you that will help to lift your spirits.
I don't belong to Facebook, but I have put together a photo album of web cam shots of Emma and her Tiny Trio on my personal website, as a thank you to you and your family for sharing a wonderful experience with the world.
I do hope that you and the members of your friendly group will enjoy reliving Emma's amazing story in these pages and that perhaps remembering it will bring some comfort to you all.
Oh, How Much We Love The Hummingbirds!
When life gets a bit too hectic, or sometimes a little sad
I found away to escape from all the worries that I had
I didn't take a prescription for a drug like others do
I simply logged on to a website, just to enjoy the view.
When I saw the pretty Hummingbirds living in their yard that day
I got a special feeling inside that never went away.
Some folks don't understand us, how much we love Hummingbirds
I really unexplainable, with just these written words.
Also on this website you're invited to join in and chat
You will meet some awesome people, I can guarantee you that.
The moderators are volunteers they answer all our questions
They know all about the Hummingbirds and they offer good suggestions.
We all share our love for nature lots of laughter and sometimes tears
While you chat with such kind people you'll feel you've known them all for years.
When your housework gets neglected and the dust bunnies get as big as your cat
That's when you start to realize you're addicted, so surrender and accept that.
I'd like to express my sincere thank you and heartfelt grattitude
tO CaLadyDi, her children, and our real life hero, WebDude.
I don't know any other lady who is dedicated as Diane
She was given a 2 day old orphaned Hummingbird, by a neighbor man.
When WebDude saw the tiny, lifeless chick, I know we who  understands
How his Fatherly instincts automaticly kicked in, and that's when he began
to cradle the helpless little bird in the warmth of his gentle hands.
By holding and warming up the chick, it started to revive
Because of Dude's caring nature, the chick is still alive!
The orphan Hummingbird named Hope had no mother of her own
So she was added to Forrest and Iris's nest, so she wouldn't be alone.
The momma Hummingbird Emma, without any adieu
Took care of, fed and protected, Forrest, Iris and little Hope too.
I knew the day was coming when the Hummingbirds would fledge
They wingercise more often still hanging on to the nests edge.
I always feel a little sadness a bittersweet moment when they fly
But that's what mother nature intended, though it's hard to say good-bye.
I believe Hummingbirds are sweet blessings, created by GOD above
And all his gifts to us from nature, are given to us with HIS love.
Ode to the Hummingbird
The hummingbird in flight is a water-spark,
an incandescent drip of American fire,
the jungle's flaming resume,
a heavenly, precise rainbow:
The hummingbird is an arc,
a golden thread,
a green bonfire!
Oh tiny living lightning,
when you hover in the air,
you are a body of pollen,
a feather or hot coal,
I ask you:
What is your substance?
Perhaps during the blind age of the Deluge,
within fertility's mud,
when the rose crystallized in an anthracite fist,
and metals matriculated each one in a secret gallery
perhaps then from a wounded reptile some fragment rolled,
a golden atom,
the last cosmic scale,
a drop of terrestrial fire took flight,
suspending your splendor,
your iridescent,
swift sapphire.
You doze on a nut,
fit into a diminutive blossom;
you are an arrow,
a pattern,
a coat-of-arms,
honey's vibrato, pollen's ray;
you are so stouthearted--
the falcon with his black plumage does not daunt you:
you pirouette,
a light within the light,
air within the air.
Wrapped in your wings,
you penetrate the sheath of a quivering flower,
not fearing that her nuptial honey may take off your head!
From scarlet to dusty gold,
to yellow flames,
to the rare ashen emerald,
to the orange and black velvet of our girdle gilded by sunflowers,
to the sketch like amber thorns,
your Epiphany,
little supreme being,
you are a miracle,
shimmering from torrid California to Patagonia's whistling,
bitter wind.
You are a sun-seed,
plumed fire,
a miniature flag in flight,
a petal ofsilenced nations,
a syllable of buried blood,
a feather of an ancient heart,
submerged.
