I have mailed or delivered the raffle winners their checks.
A special "thank you" to Sam and Diane Myers who donated their $50 winnings back to the wrestling team.
Another "thank you" from our thousands of readers. This time to Dr. Oleyn. The good doctor won $50 in the raffle, but has just returned his check as a donation to the cause.
Last week, on behalf of the Oxford wrestling team community, I sent $300 to the Zachary Johnston Bereavement Fund. The check was enclosed in a card signed by members of our high schoool team and coaches.
Hi Everyone- thru GM the Palace is offering $5 tickets to any of the finals sessions. They are $9 Upper Level General Admission seats. The GM offer code is GMC2441POH.
Well done men...let's pull together and re focus your attention to Wednesday evening. Forget the regular season scores, these will be very different teams, wrestling for very different reasons. Pull together and continue to pursue the dream.
P.S. Jim Frisch is awesome...thanks for keeping the food hot...you da man!!!
Thanks to Jim "The Generator" Frisch. When the host school denied us electricity
, the light bulb went on for Jim
, who went all the way back home
to get his generator so the team could enjoy hot food
. Not wanting our boys to run out of gas
, Jim helped restore their power
and made it possible for another
electrically-charged
showing by our wrestlers.Update....Linden beat Fenton 34 to 33.
Gentlemen,
Tomorrow you begin the post season...the real season. You have had a tremendous preseason and are now ready to pull together as a team and achieve the incredible. Rid yourself of doubt and fear and trust that your coaches have prepared you for victory. Seize the opportunity and focus on the goals.
Vincent Lombardi: The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.
Samuel Smiles: Men who are resolved to find a way for themselves will always find opportunities enough; and if they do not find them, they will make them.
Embrace this opportunity and recognize that you are not measured by the results, but by the effort put forth.
Good Luck on your journey.
What a great team you guys are.
Keep getting better it's going to get harder going into March. You guys need to make a statement this year at Battle Creek and the Palace.
Darrell Burchfield - SV Wrestling"
Let's keep up that reputation.
Sometimes a punch in the face is necessary to alert us to where we are and what we need to work on to get better. I have watched this team rise up and meet every challenge. I expect nothing less at this point. I was proud to watch all the kids be so intently interested in each of their fellow team mates matches at Swan Valley. This was a great taste of what states will look like...use this setback to build on...finger pointing is not what we need. As we saw yesterday, this is 14 moving parts that must work together for what is best for the TEAM. Stand up, regroup and continue to focus on the big picture. Good luck the rest of the way, only as a TEAM will you reach your goal!
Imlay City Pictures are posted - Sorry it took so long
This may be redundant but take a look at our 40 placers from tournaments on 1-10-09.
1st-10, 2nd-10, 3rd-7, 4th-5, 5th-4, 6th-4. Awesome.
Way to go Boys that's impressive, keep it up.
Port Huron Parents,
A HUGE thank-you to all of you!!!!
Thanks for all of your help and all of the delicious food that we had plenty of.
I appreciated it and I’m sure the boys did too!
Valarie Logan
Thanks for all the work, time, and effort you guys are doing with this web site, and the e-mails keeping us informed. I really helps when you’re out of town and can't get to the meets.
Good Luck this weekend boy's, you make us proud parents.
There was some confusion regarding the concession stand for home meets. I apologize to those that thought I was handling the sign up for the entire season. Rod, please let me know if you do need my help with this. Janie P.
A big "thank you" is due the coaches AND the Athletic Director for putting together extra wrestling meets. With the large team we have this gives more of our athletes an opportunity to compete. Something they they all work hard for! Thanks coaches!
I want to Thank everyone for all that you do. I enjoy being part of this wonderful team/ parents.
As a 2nd year parent I'm very thankful to the coaches, boy's and other parents for being part of such a wonderful organization.![]()
I still have a few cans of Kennedy Skin Creme left to sell. I'll bring them with me to all the meets until there gone. I really feel that every wrestler should be using this (or something) before they get on that dirty mat, it's cheap insurance against some nasty skin problems.
Jim Frisch
Several positive comments were made by the H.S. Coaches. They were very impressed and appreciative of our "hospitality" on Saturday. Thanks again to all of you that helped. Janie Peasley
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Oxford Wrestling community for the efforts of all for what we are all about ...... When duty calls, there is not a better group of people to step up and to represent so selflessly, work harder than is expected, and make me so proud to say I am from !!!!! The effort from our team is a true reflection on the character they have learned from the examples the many volunteers put forth every day. I count my blessings to be able to call you all my friends and teammates. The rest of the county has a tremendous amount of respect for the humble, hard work and class our people put forth to make the tourney and our season a great success.
Doug Myer
P.S. A team and community is only as strong as the sum of its parts.

Hope that is accurate.
Jacob Peasley finished 3rd at the BorderWars National finals. If you go to the site at:

You'll find that he apparently is attending the Kearsley school district!?

The boys can attend off season practices at Davison High School on Thursday evenings 6:30pm-8:00pm and also Linden High School on Sunday evenings 6:30pm-8:00pm. Mike Krause from NXT LVL Wrestling has stated he will only charge us $10.00 per car load (usual charge is $10.00 per family). He does also offer practice at Plymouth-Canton on Tuesday's.
Just another note, Matthew and a few other guys are wrestling at a Borderwars tournament this Sat (10-3-08) at Troy Athens. On Sun Oct 26th a few more are going to one at Holly HS. Once they qualify at one of these they can go to Borderwars national championships the first week of Nov. at Battle Creek. Qualifiers I know so far; Jackob Peasley, Ben Ralston, Matthew Frisch.
Here is a link to the site for more info.
Great Start, Thanks for doing this. Jim Frisch
