Anyone have any advice for a Dad who's son is a natural born wrestler but doesn't want to join the team because he doesn't like wrestling in front of crowds but has no problem grappling with me when I'm training for a MMA fight or wrestling with his friends that are twice his size and still pinning them? He's a shy kid and I'd like him to come out of his shell.

I would echo everything stated previously. It took a couple of days to decompress from another extremely successful season. Congrats to the wrestlers, coaches, parents and fans. Oxford Wrestling is an incredible program that is respected throughout the state. I am honored to be part of such a impressive program that looks to continue to get stronger next year. Each and everyone of you wrestlers should feel very satisfied with your successes and for those of you coming back...the party is just starting. Work hard in the off season...stay competative...compete in something...keep that edge. Oxford will be the preseason favorite next year...translation...the target is on your back.
Congratulations on an awesome 2009-2010 season. The best is yet to come!

What a great season this was 2010.
Wrestlers you should all be proud of this team and what you’ve done to make it a team. Coaches, Thank You all for everything you have done for this team to make them what they have become. They are a group of fine young men that have grown so much over the years and in the last four months. There were times when they were feeling the best they could be and there were times when they were down but you guys were there either way in a positive role to support them. Thank You for all the time, effort, and hours you have put in it does get noticed.
Seniors, good luck in the future where ever life takes you, the under classmen have looked to you as role models and you haven’t let them down, it’s been tuff for you guys this year but you pulled thought it in style.
Juniors, next year it’s your turn to step up and be the leaders, and to take this team to other levels accomplishment. You’re a tight group that works well together stay that way.
Sophomores, you’re a small group this year of about 10, you guys worked so hard and came to each event and did what you were asked to do and many times you pushed the team over the top in surprising and exciting fashion.
Freshmen, next year is when you’re not the, “new guys” any more you’ve been through it now, and next year will be a time to show it. The freshmen coming in will be just as nerves as you were when the season started, help these guys find their way in too.

Gentlemen...preseason is over, we have no more.... unexperienced freshman, second year sophomores, first time cracking the lineup juniors...we have team. This team is peaking at the right time, and has the talent to make a strong run and finish what was left undone last year. Everybody is hurt, banged up, you name it. Dig deep, trust in yourself and your teammates and leave it on the mat. Your the best coached, most supported program in this state...remember you represent something incredible and you have on obligation to give nothing less then 100%...don't wait for someone else to pick up the slack, you be that person. Seniors...time to lead!

The Euchre Night was a great time. We had over 60 people come out to play and show their support for the team, Thank You all. Val thanks for setting this event up and seeing that it ran so well. I would also like to thank everyone that supported Val through out the night and those that stayed after to help us clean up, with out being asked to.
This is also a part of what helps makes this wrestling team what it is, the parents that support them and each other everyday. I hope you all had a good time too.

Heard from SO many people about how respectful, and respected, Oxford's wrestlers and coaches are....you should be VERY proud of yourselves....Congrats to Matt Frisch and Kyle Hill for winning it all....and congrats to Kyle for the MVW....that was AWESOME !!
