Manzanita is a small coastal residential community lying on U.S. Highway 101 about 22 miles south of Seaside and 27 miles north of Tillamook. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean, Neah-Kah-Nie Mountain, and state and private forests. The Manzanita area is home to 735 full time residents.
Visitors to Manzanita enjoy its seven miles of quiet ocean beach, horseback riding, a nine-hole golf course and two state parks for camping and beachcombing. The name "Manzanita" means little apple in Spanish. This came from the many Manzanita plants that covered the hillsides and bears a flower that looks like a little apple.
