Welcome to Jedwabne Parish Records!!

Detailed Baptism, Marriage, and Death/ Burial Records between the 1820s and 1880s have been uploaded for genealogical purposes. If your ancestors lived in Jedwabne, Karwowo, Polki, Kotowek, Bronaki Olki, Bronaki Pietrasze, Kubrzany, Borawskie, Konopki Chude, Konopki Tluste, Grady Male, Wesolowo, Biczki, Janczewko, or Przestrzele in the 19th century, there is good chance you may find them in these records.


This collection includes the oldest records available from Jedwabne parish. Records prior to 1826 have been either lost or destroyed. More recent records (20th century) won't be posted online for a while due to privacy laws.

Sporadically illegible pages will show up. This is because the records were taken by a camera. I apologize for this!

These records are also available via family history centers in the US in the form of microfilms which cost $5.50 a piece. These are all in good condition. This collection would consist of about 5-10 microfilms. If you have found ancestors on one of the illegible pages you may consider borrowing the specific microfilm that the record is found in.

Within 5 to 10 years all the microfilms that belong to the Mormons should be digitalized and accessible online for free!! Currently the alternatives are ordering microfilms, going to the actual parishes, or looking around online for bits and pieces of Polish records privately uploaded online.

PS. Feel free to contribute any information about Jedwabne that has the potential of being beneficial to other researchers.

I am researching Constantine Wisniewski and Catherine Milosek.  Lived and died in Kotowo Plac but not sure where born.  Also the following names from Kotowo Plac and Jedwabne:  Kamila Milosek Zaluska; Franciska Milosek Rutkowski; John Rutkowski; Wojciech Milosek; Maryanna Karwowski; Aniela Piotrowski; Dominik Wisniewski; Sabina Wisniewski Openchowski; Apolinary Wisniewski; Janina Wisniewski Gradzki, Maryanna Milosek Bigda.

Chude
After years of Searching for this City Chudey-Chude and any other spelling, I found this site with some mention of records. I was unable to find however any images on Chudey? my grandfather was a Rabbi there Levi Yitschock was his name, died approx 1901. I found a pic of his daughter's gravestone in Raduity, however I got no info on him.

I just paid $1,000 to have someone check out the condition of the Jewish Cemetery in Chude, I can forward the report once I get it. Any help on your side would be greatly appreciated.

I am researching the Godlewskis and Baginskis from Kotowek, the Karwowskis from Karwowo, Wadolowskis from Bronaki Olki, Zaluskas from Kotowo Plac.


I would also appreciate any information on the birth/ marriage information of Paweł Godlewski b. about 1792, d. 1854 and his wife Anna Kossakowska as well as Józef Baginski b. 1804 and his wife Rozalia Konopka.

In most parishes (including Jedwabne) parish records up until the late 1860s are in Polish. Records beginning with 1870 or so are in Russian, and Polish doesn't reappear again until the 20th century. Records prior to 1808 are usually in Latin, but since Jedwabne records start at 1826, this collection is only comprised of Polish and Russian
