The weather wasn't great for the Taste of Texas, but that didn't dampen our enthusiasm one bit! We enjoyed having an opportunity to share God's love (and information about the "new church in town") at this annual event. And then it was time to celebrate the Feast of St. Francis with the Blessing of the Animals-- we've done this for years, but this was a first in our new location. No horses this year :-(, but LOTS of dogs and a couple of cats....

Our annual "Mass on the Grass" service was held on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. After the service there was a picnic that included a scavenger hunt with two teams-- kids and adults-- the kids won!

Another Sunday School year has come to an end.... well, sort of! The fun continues over the summer for our kids with Summer Sunday Stories. There will be a couple of stories from books that the kids and/or adults bring, plus supervised play time during the first part of the service. At the Peace, the kids join the rest of the congregation. Bring a friend!

We've been blessed with the makings of a beautiful garden, and on May 17th we got to get our hands dirty getting it in shape. Lots of folks stayed after the Rogation Day "beating the boundary" procession for planting, weeding and general dirt-digging. Linda has done a super job laying out the new Labyrinth-- we planted the Easter lilies in and around it.

This year's Good Friday Prayers in the City walk was incredible. The stories were amazing-- all told by folks who know homelessness in a very personal way. Two K'zoo city commissioners participated, and we had twice as many people as last year (ranging in age from 5 - 75+).

Today (Holy Saturday), we were finally able to get some outdoor yard work done (our first service was the 30th of November, so we haven't had too much gardening weather). A fabulous crew of folks raked, painted, dug, trimmed (even a good chunk of finger met the hedge trimmer!) and swept.

Tomorrow we look forward to sharing the news that God loves absolutely everybody!

A huge effort by folks to get the boxes in the office/parish hall unpacked meant that there was room to move around and get to the yummy food! It was a special evening with people who have supported us on our journey in the wilderness.

... for these photos of Christmas Eve. We had a lovely mix of newcomers, regular worshipers and some faces we hadn't seen in a while. It was a beautiful celebration. Also shown is a photo of some of the members of the congregation on Christmas Day.

 ... we got to continue two of our longstanding traditions-- "greening" the church for Christmas, and collecting warm clothes for our friends at Ministry with Community. Donna not only did a great job organizing the Greening, she even fed the volunteers! And the area in front of the altar was overflowing with warm clothes. It matched the warm feelings that seemed to be shared by all.

Our first Sunday worshiping at the little white church in Texas Corners was filled with blessings! The snow added to the excitement of the day, and a wonderful, hope-filled spirit infused worship in our new home.
