PLEASE HELP OUR TEACHERS WHO HAVE HAD TO GIVE UP THEIR LUNCH TIME.
Our teachers are supposed to have a duty-free lunch so that they can take a few minutes to eat and spend time in class preparing for afternoon instruction. This year, we have found that we do not have enough parental participation to relieve our teachers of lunch duty from 11:00 to 1:00 each day. Here is how you can help our teachers have the few minutes of time they have been promised to have “lunch.”
Families are required to do 24 Parent Participation hours at the school per year. If each family would commit to at least one lunch helper duty from 11:00 to 1:00 every 9 weeks (quarter) our teachers would have time for lunch. Some parents cannot do lunch duty, so we depend on others to do more. We know you will want to give our teachers a bit of time for lunch now that you know the situation! Lunch Helper is an easy task that does not require you to do any more than direct children to go through the line, stay in their seats, and put their trash in a trash can.
You can sign up and plan ahead to adjust your schedule. Any family member can do this; not just the parent.
You will earn 2 hours (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) of Parent Participation Commitment hours each day that you volunteer. Give our teachers a lunch break and sign up now!
