My Son Dustin has just recently became a part of the program at Wakulla CI, I look forward to seeing him in your photo album. I think its a great program.. kept it going ..!!
I will be looking to adopt one soon...!!

Well, it's been quite a year so far.  Paws in Prison, a non profit, has taken over the program from the previous humane organization and will be graduating it's second class on June 5th.  We put our first class into WCI in February and they graduated on April 10th.  I'm happy to say they have all been adopted. We were lucky enough to send 2 of them to Tampa to find their forever homes.

This new class started out with some sick puppies, but all is well now. The dogs are probably the friendlies we've had since the program started. They all get along really well. We are happy to partner with CARK ( a no kill animal rescue group) and Emerald Coast Golden Retriever Rescue to put a couple of their dogs into the program. The rest came from Wakulla County Animal Control.  We have already gotten most of the new group adopted and are working on picking the group that will go into WCI on June 6th.  We will be working with Wakulla Animal Control along with a few other organizations.

 

Thanksgiving has come and gone and we are gearing up for the third class graduation on December 23rd. We already have 5 of the dogs adopted and are working hard on the other 6.  Sam will be staying back as she is just too timid to go out into the world. But we have faith the team leaders will get her going in the right direction. We are picking out the new dogs this week and really look forward to the coming year.

Well, our third class has been with the inmates for about 10 days and they are doing great!  They feel right at home and are pushing boundaries, just like they should.  The inmates are training some difficult dogs this time, as a few of them (the dogs) are quite hard headed. But, the love is overcoming any problems.

We are thrilled to announce that we have 9 wonderful new graduates of the program. All but 3 have been adopted. Eva, Lady, and Gypsy are still available and can be yours!!

We are also in need of foster homes for them until they find their forever home. Graduation is October 17th.
