"Our aim is not to produce champions, but to produce an atmosphere in which champions are inevitable.  Swimming is a means to an end…to build self confidence, self discipline, integrity and courage for life."

Breast Stroke Pull-Down!

"Clearly, the butterfly kick may not be taken until after the hands separate from the streamline. However, the rule does not require a continuous arm pull. Thus, following initiation the arm pull may be paused and the butterfly kick taken before the pull is resumed to completion.

Dolphins Swim Well at Zones

A handful of young Dolphins joined Coach Kelly and me at the CSM pool last weekend for what turned out to be quite an eventful meet! Despite the cold wind and rain we had fast swimming and lots of smiles. Maya Gotthard (10) dropped time in every event she swam and was selected to participate in the Zones All-Star Meet coming up in March!! Congrats Maya!

What I thought was pretty cool was witnessing the comradery between our 10&Under and 11-12 swimmers at this meet. The 10&Unders don't generally practice with the 11-12s, and normally only the 11-12 boys swim with the 10&Unders at regular meets but this time all age groups were together. It was also helpful to have all 10&Under and 11-12s there on Sunday morning when we discovered our pop-up had blown into the pool overnight and we had to fish it out!

Overall it was a really good meet with lots of positives to take away. Way to go Dolphins!!

Q & A

How do I sign-up my child for with USA Swimming so he/she can swim in the meets?
First of all you need to check with your swimmer's coach that registereding with USA Swimming and going to the USA meets is appropriate for your swimmer. Once you have the permission of the coach then send Coach Rob an email (robg@peninsulacovenant.com) and he will send you all the information you need.
My child is now USA Swimming registered, how do I sign them up for meets?
Go to this website: ome.swimconnection.com and create an account. Once you've done this you will be able to see upcoming swim meets in our area. If you have an account on this website you can register your swimmer for meets online.
