Welcome!
Classroom Community is #1 in Cabin 2!
We are all working hard to create a safe, caring learning environment for everyone! :)
Students have defined the following 4 Classroom Standards to fit all our needs as learners in Cabin 2:
1. Be a Friend
2. Be a Learner
3. Be a Team Player
4. Be a Responsible Citizen
Students have signed a contract to agree to uphold the standards, and in return want to hold all other students accountable to do the same!

Calendar
Daily Planners and Work Binders
Organization is the KEY to Success!
Please make sure to ask your child about their day. The DAILY PLANNER is filled out each day to report work and assignments that were done in class. As things are completed, the student will check it off. Unfinished work should be completed at home. ALL completed work will remain in the binder until directed to turn in to the work box for correcting. This allows the parent to double check the work and assure that it is completed and checked off on the daily planner. Math homework and practice books will be collected at the end of each Chapter.
Please help us all stay on track with our assignments and classroom expectations by reviewing and signing the daily planner each day! :)

Problem Solving
We are using the "4 step problem solving" strategy:
1. Understand
2. Plan
3. Solve
4. Check
We are understanding important parts of the story problem, and using them to identify the operation (+, -, x, or /) to use. We are using pictures numbers and words to show how we solve the word problem, or choosing the best strategy (look for a pattern, draw a picture, act it out, etc.)
