Welcome to Philip Palermo Productions

Thanks for visiting my site. My name is Philip Palermo and I'm a freelance photographer in the Western Washington area.

I've worked with more than a dozen newspapers throughout the region and my work has been seen in a number of magazines, Web sites, and advertisements.

Please feel free to browse. I only have a very small sample of my portfolio currently available on this site, but rest assured, more photos will be coming.

Enjoy and feel free to leave a comment or four!

Here's a general list of rates and services I currently offer (more services will be added soon. Prices and services subject to change.):

I've added some examples of my past wedding photography work. Feel free to scroll down this page to see a small selection of shots.

As for prices and services, my wedding photography offerings are divided into three packages:

Wedding Photography

I recently added wedding photography examples to this site. Scroll down for a selection of wedding photos.

Package A: $800 - The most affordable option, for single locations, such as a civil ceremony or a wedding and reception in the same building (or at least close to one another). Typical time allotments range around 3-5 hours (roughly). Package includes your own personal Web site (password protected, if you wish). From here you can view and order prints in a variety of sizes (including standard prints, photobooks, and other photo gifts like mugs). This site can also be sent to friends and family around the world so they can view and order prints as well. Printing is done through Shutterfly.com.

Package B: $1,000 - The mid-level option, includes all the services offered in Package A plus more. Time allotments for this package typically range from 5-10 hours (roughly). For weddings that include multiple sites, such as one for the ceremony and another for the reception, this is probably the best bet. In addition to a personal Web site, this package also includes CD/DVDs of high-resolution digital photos.

Package C: $1,500 - The largest package, includes everything above, but allows for much more time, including multi-day events. So, if you'd like photographs of your rehearsal dinner, hair and makeup, and other activities in preparation for the wedding, this could be the package for you. As with the other packages, this includes your own personalized Web page and CD/DVDs of high resolution digital photos.

Photography style: Thanks to my background in journalism, I've developed a passion for the so-called "photojournalist" style of wedding photography. This style emphasizes natural reactions and unposed shots. It's also called "reportage" style in some circles. While I will photograph the standard posed shots of the wedding party, I feel my best work is done when everyone forgets I'm there with a camera and starts acting naturally. If you're interested in wedding photos that are more posed and structured, also known as "formal" style, there are many other very skilled wedding photographers that may be a better fit for you.

Sports
$50 - Individual candids (Ideal for parents looking for action shots of their son or daughter playing sports)
$100 - Candid series (For only $50 more, a group of parents can request action shots of their children. For example, if five families want photos, each family can chip in $20)
$150 - Candid series plus team portrait (Action shots during the game plus a team photo)

Special Events
$150 - 1-4 hours of on-site coverage for parties, conventions, and banquets.
$300 - 4-8 hours of on-site coverage for parties, conventions, and banquets.

Concerts
$100 - Performance photos (Perfect for those in local bands or any other performing arts groups looking for high-quality performance photos for their Web site, Myspace page, brochures, etc.)

Senior Portraits
$150 - On-location portraits for high school seniors. Popular locations include parks, waterfronts, and homes.

Journalism
Negotiable - Perfect for newspapers, magazines, or Web sites looking for rapid turnaround times from an experienced news photographer.

Most projects include CD/DVDs of high-quality digital photos PLUS the convenience of a personalized online gallery. Share the gallery with friends and family, which gives them the opportunity to order prints in a variety of sizes and finishes.

Just added a ringflash!

I recently added the AlienBees ABR-800 ringflash to my photography arsenal. I've had load of fun testing it out in human portraits, animal portraits, product photography and pretty much everything else. The light it puts out is so interesting and I'm having a blast experimenting.
