USSSA World Series- July 23-30, 2011
Hey Noize Makers
! It's been awhile since I've posted anything on our website. My apologies for my "writer's block", but it can be overwhelming trying to keep up with all the teams in our program. I'll try to post more often. "Pink
Well the time is finally here for our powerhouse Pink Noize 8U
team to head to Orlando, Fla. for their World Series
. What a ride it's been! Players have come & gone. We've also made some great new friends...& enemies as well. lol. But oh, well. Unfortunately, I guess that is just a part of softball.
I'd personally like to thank our 8U parents
for their dedication to their daughter & our team. Without you all, this opportunity for your daughter would not be possible! Please don't ever stop supporting your girl. They will remember this experience forever!!!
To the Pink Noize 8U
players: Wow, girls! I am so proud of each & every one of you. You all have come a long way from a year ago when we first started putting this team together. We trust that all your hard word, blood, sweat & tears will pay off. Enjoy every moment of this tourney. For some of you, this just might be the only time you will ever play at a World Series/National championship, so don't hold back. Leave it all in Florida!!!
And last, but certainly not least. I'd like to thank Coach Fred Gonzalez
for putting this team at the level that it is right now. Know that all those stressful, sleepless nights (for you & Yvette) will not be in vain. Most people don't realize how much it takes to put something like this together. Don't think that all your efforts didn't go unnoticed. You will know that it was all worth it when you are holding that World Series championship trophy high above your head!!! Great job, Coach!!!
Good luck to Victoria
on her upcoming endeavors..wherever they may be!!!
Once we get back from Florida, it will be time to get our teams ready for 2012
where I will be expecting not only our 8U team, but all our PINK NOIZE
teams to be competing at a National Championship/World Series!!! "got noize?"
Pink Noize wins, Pink Noize wins, Pink Noize wins!!!
Pink Noize wins, Pink Noize wins, Pink Noize wins!!! What a great opening night for our teams as all three of our divisions win, 7-3 (10U), 15-1 (8U) & 15-0 (6U). I m so proud of how all the girls played.
It was kinda difficult to concentrate on which game to watch due to the fact that both our 10u & 6U teams were playing at the same time. Both these teams were making their debut Pink Noize appearances. It had been a while since I had seen a t-ball team play. I had forgotten how exciting & emotional these games get & our little ones did not disappoint. It also seemed as if Coach Krystal was on top of the world, grinning from ear to ear. As for Coach A.J., all I have to say is "relax, buddy". Rule #1, have fun & the rest will take care of itself (lol).
As for our 10U team, great job, Coach Fito & staff. This team looks very promising. We will be competitive. To our 8U team, what an awesome display of depth. This particular team's defense has not missed a step & have picked up right where they left off. Their batting will improve once they get used to Coach Raudy's pitching style (if not, we'll have to rely on our relief pitcher, Coach Fred. lol). I believe they will do well in tournaments.
Great job, girls!!! "got noize?"
Lady Bears vs. Pink Noize Rec. Showdown II
Another fun game between our Lady Bears
& our Pink Noize Rec.
team. Way to rebound from those off games that we both previously had. Now, I don't know about the Lady Bears
, but it took a full inning for Pink Noize
to snap out of their funk & start playing the way I know they can play. Keep your heads up, Lady Bears
. You all are a great team. Just remember the most important thing is to have fun. Once you all start having fun, the rest will come easy.
Once again, thanks to the Garcia fam. (Yasmine)
& to Mr. Joe Martinez & little Jasmine
for coming out & supporting our teams. By the way, Joe you did an outstanding job filling in for Coach Raudy
who was M.I.A. lol. Watch out Raudy, I think I overheard the Lady Bears coaching staff talking about replacing one of their coaches. Yikes!!! Special thanks to all our fans who visited our website in the past 24 hours. Over 100 hits
. WOW!!! Unbelievable!!!
Sorry folks! No pictures to be posted. Our team photographer was also M.I.A. lol. Guess i'll have to find a replacement photographer as well. (Just kiddin' Letty). Actually, she was at our 10U sister-teams' game. The Big, Bad D-KRUSHERS!!!
Congratulations to the Diamond Krushers
on a great season. Way to go D-Krushers
!!! Great job, Fito, Enrique & Annette!!
Showdown at the Alamo Sports Complex. Lady Bears vs. Pink Noize Rec. (5-6-10)
Was that fun or what? I seriously don't remember ever playing a game where everyone seemed to be having such a good time. Things started getting interesting from the moment when it was decided that our Lady Bears & our Pink Noize Rec. teams would be playing each other. It all came down to which team would make the least errors (not to mention which parent posted the best trash talk on FaceBook! lol). And I think that it's fair to say that both teams had their share of errors. Or was it the "Secret Weapon" again that made the difference? Hmmm? Don't worry Fred & Raudy. I'm sure Mrs. Aissa will fill you in on our teams little secret once we get going again with our Platinum program after the All-Star season. lol. But until then, " No soup for you!" (-Seinfeld's soup nazi).
Thanks to all the parents on both sides for being such good sports. Thanks to the Salinas (Jacky), the Cantu (Korrie), the Gonzalez (Alysha) & to the Garcia (Yasmine) family for coming out & supporting our teams! Even though the Garcia's stayed as neutral as possible & stood by the scorekeeper. Smart move! lol
Good Luck to the Pharr Gems in their championship game on Sat. morning!!! Like I mentioned in one of my earlier articles, Pharr is here to play!! Let's keep that 1st place trophy in our TriCity area!!!
San Juan "Cinco de Mayo" Festival Tournament Runner-up.
Another tourney, another top 2 finish for Pink Noize Rec.! Very impressive, girls! You girls looked unstoppable in most of the games. It must have been the "Secret Weapon" that Mrs. Aissa gave the girls before the games. Or was it the "Special Water" that Coach Joe M. splashed on the girls. Well, whatever it was, lets keep it to ourselves & keep the rest of the teams guessing!!! Seems like our team is starting to peak at the right moment! Keep it up, girls! We have yet another tourney this week. And no, San Benito will not be in this tourney (thank God) lol.
All the credit to the San Benito SunDevils. You all have an awesome team. Congratulations on your two 1st place finishes at the last two tourneys. I'll be sure to delete your contact info from my list so you won't get invited to participate at our tournaments anymore. Just kiddin. I've always believed that in order to be the best, you gotta beat the best. And playing with high caliber teams such as yourselves will make our girls better players. Once again, Congratulations, SunDevils!!!
Congratulations to Delilah Cantu from Edin. Heat & to Erika Cortez from SB SunDevils for hitting it out of the park at this weekend's tourney.(and what a coincidence, they both hit it out while playing against us. lol). I'd also like to recognize Pink Noize SELECT's very own Victoria Maldonado of the San Juan Lady Bears for hitting the barrier. One more bite from that taco & you would have cleared it, baby girl!!!
To that special group of people that gave me the reassurance that I needed. Now, I don't know if you all planned it ahead of time or if it was a HUGE coincidence. Seeing you all there all decked out in your PINK NOIZE apparel in front of your honored guest was an awesome sight. I sure do appreciate the gesture. You all are the best. Thank you all for staying "True to the Noize!!!" got noize?
Boys & Girls Club of Alamo Invitational Softball Tourney Runner-Up. San Benito SunDevils 3, Pink Noize Rec. 2.
Once again, what a great tournament. Except this time it was our Pink Noize Rec. team. The tourney started off on Saturday in pool play with a victory over The Little Lady Wolverines with a score of 9-6. Then we played our second pool play game against the eventual tourney champs, the San Benito SunDevils, losing by a score of 6-0. After pool play the seedings ended as follows: SB Sundevils(1) record 2-0, Harlingen RGV Storm (2) record 2-0, Alamo Pink Noize(3) record 1-1, Weslaco Krush (4) record 0-2, Alamo Little Lady Wolverines (5) record 0-2.
Bracket play started of against our sister-team from Harlingen, RGV STORM. That game came down to the last inning ending in Pink Noize's favor by the score of 8-7. Knowing most of the girls from that team, I honestly think we took advantage of them having a bad game. They are a much better team than what they showed most of this weekend. Keep your heads up, girls. I know for a fact that once in a while, we will have bad showings in tournaments. But there will also be tournaments that you will be unstoppable!!!
We are so proud of our little Pink Noize Rec team! You all showed alot of heart in the championship game against the San Benito SunDevils. You all hung in there till they very end losing by the score of 3-2. Awesome job, girls.
Thank you very much to all the parents, grandparents & fans for your support. By the way, you all looked awesome in your new "Property of Pink Noize" t-shirts!!! I would also personally like to give a special thanks to some of our extended Pink Noize SELECT family for coming out & supporting our Rec. team (you all know who you are. Too numerous to mention).Thank you very much Mr. Manny Rodriguez for putting on such a great tourney.
S.B. Sluggers 1st Annual Softball Tourney
What a great tournament!
I really don' t know where to begin! I've been thinking all night & all day brainstorming of what to write trying to prioritize my thoughts. So many highs & lows!
I guess I'll start with the important stuff first.
I am so proud of our girls. We all got off to a shaky start caused by the girls getting used to each other. We made some adjustment in an attempt to get the chemistry right & I'd like to believe it worked. Thank you Yasmine Garcia
& Kristin Maldonado
for your unconditional support!! Your time will come soon. Thanks to Sonny, Rey, Big Larry
& our coaching staff. Even though we did not win the championship, we had set a couple of goals and we accomplished them both. I'd say our top priority was to practically do the impossible and attempt to break San Benito's
long-standing winning streak. Well, the streak ended @ 55
in front of a packed house in extra innings! It seemed as if the world was watching. Great job girls!! Although, they worked their way up the losers bracket & beat us in the championship. That just goes to show how much of a solid & talented team San Benito
is. We give you all the credit you deserve!
I'd also like to apologize to the parents of the Chix w/Stixx
girls. At the end of our 1st bracket game, I let my emotions and some overheard ignorant comments get the best of me. I found myself stooping to a level that I know for a fact that I never should have gotten to. Thank you Mr. Rey Canales
for snapping me out of my trans and making me realize that we need to teach our girls to do the right thing as well as teaching them to win & lose with class. Please know that the way things played out during that game is not the Pink Noize
way. That is most definitely not us & I apologize to everyone who had to witness that nonsense!
To the whole 8U Valley softball community
, it does my heart good they way we all came together & merged teams (both Weslaco teams & Chix/Pink Noize) as well as sharing players whenever a team was in need. I think that was an awesome gesture when some Weslaco
players helped out Team Evolution
when they were shorthanded.
To Mr. Carlos Robledo
, What you are doing awesome. The live broadcasting of some of the games on VarsitySportsTV.com
is such a great thing. We had some of our girls who couldn't make the trip watch our game live online. Not to mention some family & friends from the Valley, San Antonio, Austin, even as far away from California & Florida! Amazing! Thank you Mr. Robledo.
Special thanks to Joe Campos Insurance Agency
. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts... & stomachs for sponsoring Pink Noize
at this weekends tourney. Your generous contribution is greatly appreciated.
To our lower valley rivals(yeah, right. lol) from Chix w/Stixx/RGV Storm
, Thank you very, very much Gerrie Ortiz, Anyssa Huerta, Natasha Canales, Eryn Valdez & their families.
All this would not have been possible without you. The chemistry was right, the comradery was right & the timing was right. We did it girls! Congratulations. We have to do this again!!!
And last but most certainly not least. I've been trying to avoid writing this because it tears me apart just thinking that this would be the last tournament that Kristy & the whole Alanis famil
y would be with our SELECT
team. I've come to understand & accept your departure & I support your decision. You all will be dearly missed & we wish you the best of luck. Please know that you will always be considered part of the Pink Noize family
and that we love you all very, very much!!!
Thanks for the memories!
It Happened Again!!! Pink Noize 11, Pharr Gems 7
Well folks it happened again. No, unfortunately I'm not referring to the wins. I'm referring to players (1st base) getting hit in the face by the ball. Two games into the season, two incidents. Not very good.
I have spoken to one of our league officials and voiced my concern. I suggested to him that the league should mandate some of the infielders to wear extra protective gear such as faceguards and chest pads. He assured me that this issue would be taken care of ASAP by recommending to the coaches that they require their players (infielders) to wear this extra protective gear.
Now I have to be honest. When I first saw girls wearing these freaky looking mask, I was not too crazy of the whole thing. Well, it's amazing how a couple if incidents can change someones whole prospective. So, please, I ask you to protect your precious little girls and make them wear these "freaky" looking mask! lol
Brisa, Brisa, Brisa! Wow! Not even a tear! I've seen grown men get hit and start crying like, well...little girls. lol. You are one tough big girl! My condolences to all your future boyfriends. lol
Great game Pharr Gems. Very impressive! I seriously believe that with a little more game time experience, you all will be a force to reckon with. Watch out everyone, Pharr is here to play!!!
Congratulations PINK NOIZE Rec. on another great win. Keep on playing hard and having fun!!!
Lady Bears 5, Lady Wolverines 4. Pink Noize Rec. 9, Little Sluggerz 1.
Wow! What a great game between the Lady Bears
& the Lady Wolverines
. It came down to the last inning. I admit, it was kinda hard to distinguish which player was which with their new respective team uniforms so I really could not say who did what (help me out on this Bibi & Fred). Regardless, it was an outstanding effort by both teams.
Well Pink Noize Rec.
, we started off strong, then faded towards the middle but came on strong towards the end. I guess we just needed to knock the dust off from a whole week of not having any games. Great job overall!! Keep on swinging that bat & good things will come our way. Speaking of swinging bats, Yasmine
is no longer allowed to use any of our bats!
Just kidding. She and any of our SELECT
girls are always welcome to use our equipment. Congratulations Yas on your homerun tonight!!!
Great job to all the girls!
Until we meet again...
Pink Noize Select parents, players, friends and fans it is with much apprehension that we are writing this message. As parents, we constantly are making decisions on what is best for our children. The concern of their welfare is our responsibility and always on our minds. Therefore, at this time we have decided to accept an invitation for Kristy to play for a separate softball organization. We truly believe that this will provide her the opportunity to grow to her max potential as a softball player. After lengthy discussions on what is best for our little Kristy and after carefully considering her reasoning behind her strong desire to make the switch, we trust we are making the right choice. We are sorry to say that the upcoming San Benito Tournament will be her last with Pink Noize Select L. Please know that this was not an easy decision to make because it’s always hard to separate from wonderful and caring friends. Outside the sport though, we hope and wish to remain close because it’s a blessing to have you all as a part of our lives. The girls will miss each other during practice and games, but friendly outings will remain among us. We look forward to the day when our girls will once again play together as great Alamo/San Juan athletes in the near future as they represent their schools. We wish Pink Noize the best of Luck always and we will greatly miss all of you. We will continue to support Pink Noize at every event.
The Alanis Family
To our wonderful friends, teammates and family. It has been a great adventure to play with the Pink Noize Select Team. We have enjoyed every minute! It's been 1 year, already...WOW! I believe we all have grown as players, parents, and coaches, endured tough times but mostly enjoyed all the fantastic games and events together. Most importantly, this team has developed friendships that go beyond just being teammates, we are a "FAMILY". With all do respect, we have chosen to venture off from the Pink Noize Select Team. Sometimes change is necessary in order for the healing process to occur. I truly believe that you will continue to do an awesome job! Good luck! From the Cheerleader Mom to you, Got Noize? Pink Noize!
Chelsea says she will miss her Pink Noize Family. We wish you nothing but the best!
The Salinas Family
Pink Noize's 1st Annual Pre-Season Tourney Champions
First of all, I'd like to thank all the teams that participated in our 1st Annual Tourney. In the 10U Division: Green Thunder, Lady Rockets & RGV Thunder. And in the 8U division: Pink Sox, Weslaco Purple Krush, & RGV Thunder. Oh, and lets not forget that little 6U team making their way down all the way from Kingsville, the big, bad Diamond Queens who literally stepped up to the plate & played against our 8U teams. Very impressive, girls. You all should be very proud of yourselves because you all were very competitive against the older girls. You all sure gave us a scare! lol.
Well Pink Noize, what a difference a week makes, huh? Our team that showed up yesterday is the team that I know we really are. We did it! You all did it! You all made us coaches (who apparently don't know what we are doing) look good! lol. Thank you girls for not giving us coaches any attitude about playing in new positions. I personally feel that at this age level, the more positions you are exposed to, the better player you will become. Always remember that a true All-Star/SELECT player needs to learn how to play every position, including the bench! Special thanks to Kytana Muniz for coming onboard this weekend. Your are an awesome player, Tana!! We hope you had fun! Congratulations to all our girls that scored home-runs (too numerous to mention). Congratulations to our tournament MVP, Victoria Maldonado. That was an awesome game-ending play. (I'm glad I didn't have to make that call). I hope you treasure the gameball. Don't be surprised if other teams come around trying to steal you away from us (and we all know who I'm referring to) lol.
Due to the Recreational season starting soon, we will be taking a 2-3 week well deserved break. After this "so-called" break it will be time to move forward, girls. After that, I will have to do my Jerry McGuire impression and ask " Who's coming with me?" For those of you who are being persuaded by other people whispering in your ear & trying to lure you away from us, I wish you luck if you decide to leave, sincerely. But please have the common courtesy to let me know before I have to hear it from someone else. I think that it is fair to say that we deserve that courtesy.
Parents, thank you for all your help & support. All this surely would not be possible without you!!! got noize?
USSSA Cool Pre-Spring Season Tourney-Harlingen
Well that was interesting. Welcome to the USSSA folks. Quite a learning experience...to say the least. All those new rules kinda confused the heck out of us coaches, parents & especially the girls (bunting, stealing bases, imaginary baselines?lol). But hey, at least we got taken to school by the best UTrip team out there, Chix w/Stixx. Very impressive, Chix. As for Pink Noize, there is only one way to go, and that is up! We will be ready for the next Utrip tourney in March.
Time to keep one eye on the calendar & the other on the weather forecast for our tourney next weekend where we will be going back to PONY rules (thank God)! lol. Stay motivated , stay focused & above all, have fun! got noize?
Super Saturday Round Robin Tournament Champions (2-6-10)
We'll take them any way we can get 'em (or any way they want to give them to us)! Congratulations girls on your second tournament championship of the year. Seems like mostly all the other teams would accuse me of being crazy because I would make a big issue about moving onto the new 2010 age bracket. Well, I guess there was a method to my madness. Now everybody is scrambling to find legit players, yet we are sitting pretty. lol
Awesome job girls on your batting today. All that batting practice at the academy has really paid off. Or maybe it was our new "SUPERGIRL" uniforms! Congratulations to: Heaven Lozano, Kristy Alanis, Vivika Villarreal & Victoria Maldonado on your Home-Runs today.
On behalf of Pink Noize SELECT, I would also like to give special thanks to Jada Lopez, Kirsten Padilla & Coach David Padilla from the Pink Sox/Purple Heat for coming onboard & helping us out today. I hope you all had fun!!! got noize?
Rio Hondo Winter Classic
I seriously think Mr. Adames (Rio Hondo tournament director) should have considered passing out cookies & orange juice to everyone at the tournament today for the pint of blood that we unvoluntarily donated to the mosquitoes. Geez!! Anyways, good job today ladies. We beat some good teams out there & some good teams beat us. All the teams out there are pretty much even. It's just a matter of who makes the least errors. Overall, great tourney, girls!! Special thanks to Magali & April for coming onboard & filling in. Your experience really evened out the playing field against the '09 teams. Congrats to Kristy Alanis & April Luna on their Home-Runs today! Happy Birthday Kristy & Elaine!!!
Alamo Mini-Tourney (1-16-10)
I'm liking what I'm seeing, girls. I like that you all never gave up when we were down & stepping up to the challenge & overcoming (twice)! They way you all rallied from a 6-0 deficit & winning in the championship game was unbelievable! Great job, ladies. You all are "DANGEROUS" when we are down (Dangeruz Noize, Pink Danger? Hmm, now there's a couple of thoughts, Fred). I would also like to give recognition our 7 yr. olds. I don't know if the parents noticed, but most of the game against Purple Heat was played with an all 7 yr. old infield. Amazing! Now that puts my mind at ease on the future of Pink Noize SELECT!
Enjoy this tournament girls because next weekend in Rio Hondo is going to be tough against the established 2009 teams (ridiculous). I trust we will do well! Just stay focused, stay hungry & above all, have fun!
Congratulations to all the girls that hit Home-Runs! Too numerous to mention (besides, someone failed to mark them on the scorebook. Thanks alot Miss Bibi!!! lol.)
Happy Birthday Miss Jacky! Welcome back Heaven & Angel!
2010 Pink Noize SELECT Debut, Won 15-1
Very impressive girls! 5 runs per inning, 7 home-runs, only 1 run scored on us & that last 3 up-3 down inning. Are you kidding me? Wow!!! No matter what changes I would make, you girls would step up to the challenge & perform. That just goes to show that we have alot of depth within our team & that is a very good thing!!! Too bad we will not be able to make the Kingsville tournament next weekend. I really think we would have made a good showing. But I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Good luck Kristy @ Kingsville. I know you will represent our team well! Congratulations to Kristi Alanis (2), Alyson Linan(2), Catie Rodriguez & Brisa Herrera(2) on their Home-runs tonight!!
Pink Noize 13, Lady Jaguars 2
Great job girls on another win! Congratulations to: Jasmine Martinez, Chelsea Salinas, Alyson Linan, Brittney Gonzalez, Elaine Madera & Yasmine Garcia on their Home-runs tonight!!!
Pink Noize Ver. 2.0 is "BANK"!!!
Going into Pink Noize's second season and all is well!!! I'd hate to admit that I thought it was going to be a bit shaky transitioning into our new team I like to refer to as Pink Noize Ver. 2.0. Well, tonight you girls set my mind at ease. Very impressive. Two games, two wins. Six home-runs, two of them by seven year olds. It's only a matter of time before the returning girls start to gain confidence in their new teammates. They will only get better once the team starts to gel.
Our true test will come later this week when we meet up against the more established teams in the Edinburg league. Stay hungry, stay determined and above all, have fun, girls!!! Congratulations to: Brisa Herrera, Alyson Linan & Kristy Alanis (2) on their home-runs tonight. A very, very special congratulations to 7 yr. olds Kristin Maldonado on her solo home-run and to Victoria Gonzalez on her Grand Slam!!!!
RGV Trouble's Christmas Border Bash: Runners-Up
Always the bride's maid, never the bride. Now I really know what they mean when they use that cliche'. I guess that is the theme for PINK NOIZE SELECT in tournament play this year. But guess what girls, I would not trade you all for any other team out there.
The way you all worked your way up to play in the championship game from the losers bracket was awesome. And what about the championship game. You girls left everything out on the field & played your hearts out. You made Chix w/Stix earn that 1st Place trophy. I'd say we earned their respect (as well as the Lady Yankees. lol). I guarantee no one will take PINK NOIZE for granted anymore.
After the championship game, I pulled all our departing 9yr olds aside ( Magali, April, Alysha, Janelle, Jessica) to give them some kind of recognition considering this was their last tournament in this division. As I saw them standing there, I kinda got overwhelmed because I realized that this particular SELECT team would be breaking up after this tournament. Well, needless to say, I let my emotions get the best of me. And I'd like to thank the assistant coaches for bailing me out when I needed them to (yeah right, thanks alot, jerks! lol). Good luck girls! I know you all will do well in the Mustang/10U division. You will be missed!!!
I'd like to especially thank you, the parents for all your unconditional support. I really appreciate the way you all came together at the last minute to pitch in for the tournament fees. The chemistry between all of you is really something else. One big, happy family. NO DRAMA (thank God). Thanks for staying with PINK NOIZE when other opportunities presented themselves. Your loyalty to our team has made us what we are now!!! got noize? Pink Noize!!!
Drama, Drama, Drama!!!
Did I ever mention that I hate drama? Especially drama on the softball field. It's taken me a full 24hrs. to try to get over the nonsense that happened last night at our PINK NOIZE Rec. teams season opener.
Let me try to start off from the beginning...when I was approached by Alamo's league director about joining this Alamo/McAllen league, he specifically told me that we would be playing by next year's (2010) age bracket. He advised me not to play my 9 yr. olds (SELECT). I understood what he was saying because, in my opinion, it is pointless & ridiculous to play down a player in age when she could be getting ready for next spring's leagues which is right around the corner. Unlike tournaments, Winter leagues are supposed to be for developmental purposes. So, that is when we started recruiting upcoming 6 & 7 yr. old players to replace our 9 yr. olds.
Then, yesterday' s game comes along and we (coaches) noticed that some of the opposing team's girls did not seem like 8 yr. olds. So I decided to ask their coach how old they were. Well, after he confirmed that they were indeed 9 yrs. old, I completely lost it (to say the least). "Time out!!, I need to speak to the umpire and/or a league officer". After their league officer confirmed that it was okay for the 9yr olds.to play, then that is when I decided to forfeit the game.
I sincerely want to apologize to the PINK NOIZE parents, but I WILL NOT jeopardize the safety of my players under any circumstances. I'm sure they will agree and understand why I did what I did.
Today, I had a conference with Alamo's league officer (which also agreed & fully understood my point) & he assured me that we would not be playing against last night's team during this winter league season.
I should be getting a REVISED schedule from the Alamo/McAllen league some time soon. I will post & update our calendar as soon as I get it. As for now, please plan to have games on Mon. & Thur. in McAllen, Wed. in Edin. & Sat. mornings in Alamo.
1st Annual Deep River Christmas Bash
Brrrrr, pretty cold out there, huh? Girls, I admire your competitive spirit and not giving any gripe about the weather (Janelle, are you kiddin' me? Sleeveless?) I believe us coaches were being more crybabies over the cold conditions. Isn't it amazing how the absence of a couple of key players can disrupt the chemistry of the whole team? We were a bit off on our batting today but our defense came along as the tournament progressed.
Well, I've said it once & I'll say it again. The lower Valley still has us covered. I give them all the credit. Very impressive! Although, I feel we are not that far behind. Next week's Weslaco tournament will be on our side of the Valley. So, we must step up our game & play the way I know Pink Noize
is capable of playing.
Special thanks to: Hinojosa Engineering, Inc.
for sponsoring us in this tournament, Mrs. Nora Trevino
for keeping the score book, to all the parents & grandparents
for your unconditional support & oh yeah, to Mr. Rigo Rodriguez
for taking one for the guys.
1st Annual Deep River Fall Shootout-Rio Hondo
Great job girls! Although you came up a bit short, we are still very proud of you. Talk about a game of "what if's". I think that was the story on that last game vs. Kingsville. Don't get me wrong. I give all the credit to Kingsville that they deserve. They are a very strong, talented team. They hung in there and kept the game within reach. I just feel that this game, this tournament was ours to lose. And that is exactly what happened. But, I guess that is what happens when you're the top seed, everybody else steps up their game to try to beat you. Hold your heads high, girls. The lower Valley is known to have the best teams not only here in the Valley, but all over Texas. Stay focused, stay motivated, stay hungry & I believe we will do well next month at the USSSA tournament in Harlingen.
Pink Noize SELECT 13, Purple Puma's 1
Organized Chaos... now there's a name we should consider once we outgrow the name Pink Noize (nah, maybe not). Sixteen players today. I guess you girls were tired of the rain & anxious to play. I like your enthusiasm. I especially admire your unselfish attitudes and not giving us coaches any drama over playing time & playing "out of position". I believe that in order to become "All-Star" players, you need to learn how to play every position, including the "bench". This is what I mean about being "coachable" players. No matter how much talent you have, if you are not a coachable player, all your skills will be worthless to you and your team. Please don't ever forget this crucial information. Also, don't ever forget to have fun, because in reality, that is what this softball thing is all about. Great job, girls! Congratulations to Jacky Salinas on her HomeRun today!
Weslaco Fall League Opener Pink Noize SELECT 8, Pharr 8.
Slow start, strong finish. You girls showed alot of heart coming from behind a 0-5 deficit to end up in a 8-8 tie. Now that is impressive. Way to battle with a much more older, experienced team.
I was under the impression that this league was supposed to be a "development " league, which is anything but. I saw alot of teams with girls that are jumping up to Mustang next year. I guess we'll once again be one of the younger teams out there. But that's okay, I strongly believe that we can & will compete against these teams. Congratulations to Kristy Alanis & Elyssa Elizondo (game tying 3RBI HR) on their HomeRuns.
Pink Noize 2, Heat 16 Green Thunder 7, 24/7 8
Not a good outing for Pink Noize. I guess that whole week off without practice/games really had an effect on the players as well as the coaches. Time to get back to work. We ARE a better team than we showed tonight. We just need to remember to have fun out there.
As for Green Thunder, tough loss girls. Just remember you are a developmental team. This league is just for your benefit to get some experience for next season. Please be patient with Coach Fito. He IS more than competent as a coach and he is one of the very few coaches that does not play the "favorites" game. Have confidence in him and you will go far in your softball career. Congratulations Kristy Alanis & Alysha Gonzalez on your pitching debuts this afternoon!!
Border Classic Tournament- Runners-up. Lady Red Sox 8, Pink Noize SELECT 5
I have been coaching PONY Baseball/Softball since 1987 (wow, that is a long time. Geez, I'm old). Of all these years that I've been coaching, I've never been so proud of a team as I am of you girls. You all played like true champions at this weekends tournament. You all made some plays that were simply amazing. Even the umpires commented on your excellent playing abilities (thanks V. Vela). Yes, we lost the championship game, but we lost with dignity & pride. You gave it all you had, and and that is a very good thing! Hold your head up girls. We lost against a much older, experienced team which were blowing all their opponents out of the water. You all hung in there with them and gave them a run for their money.
I would like to give special thanks to Mr. Manny Rodriguez for hosting this top-notch tournament. Thanks for all your hard work & dedication, Manny! Also to Rose SantaMaria for running the scorebook for us. To Mr. Joe Martinez & daughter Jasmine for your support. To Marty Cuevas for the scouting report (thanks Marty. Very useful info. on championship game).
And last but certainly not least, the Parents/Grandparents for all your support. Without you all, this team certainly would not be possible. I really appreciate the chemistry & drama-free environment that you all create which carries on over to the team. On to the tournament in Victoria, TX. at the end of this month. got noize? PINK NOIZE
Get Well Soon Elyzza & Caro!!
USSSA Pool Play, Pink Noize SELECT 4, Lady Longhrns 3. Pink Noize SELECT 14, Purple Heat 0.
Wow girls! That was very impressive. Two games, two wins! Once you got used to the 60 ft. distance around the bases & 1 little minor adjustment on our defense, and you all looked UNSTOPABLE! Our batting still has to improve a bit. Don't be so tense at the plate. Remember to just have fun and you will do well. Congrats to April Luna on her HomeRun this afternoon!! Got Noize?
Pink Noize 5, Heat 11 PN 4, Angels 7, Green Thunder 0, Bandits 11 Green Thunder 8, 24/7 2
What started off as a bad morning for me unfortunately carried over to our games last night as Pink Noize lost both games to the Heat & the Angels. Green Thunder (get well Gina O.)didn't fare to good either against the Bandits, but bounced back to win their second game against 24/7. We seriously need to work out some kind of schedule to work in some practice sessions for both teams. I know it's kind of difficult right now with school extracurricular activities and CCD, but I am open for any suggestions (Sat. afternoons maybe?). Keep your heads up girls. It is very early in the season and we will bounce back. Congratulations to Victoria Gonzalez from Pink Noize on her HomeRun last night!!
Good Luck Pink Noize SELECT on this weekends USSSA tournament in Alamo. Please come out and support our girls. The tournament will be @ the Alamo Sports Complex. FREE ADMISSION!!!
Season Opening Games. Green Thunder 8, Outlaws 3. Pink Noize 14, Glory 12.
What an awesome way to start off the season for both Green Thunder & Pink Noize. I saw alot of good things happening out there. As for the bad things, mistakes will happen. That is just part of the game. DO NOT let the errors ruin your game. Shake off your mistake and move on to the next play. Keep on being patient at the plate, stay focused on the field and most important, have fun out there! Congratulations to Green Thunder's Gina Ortega on a great pitching debut. Also congrats to Pink Noize's Brisa Herrera, Jacky Salinas & Analisse Sanchez on their HomeRuns tonight!! We are very proud of all of you!!!
Pink Noize/Green Thunder Fall League Rosters COMPLETE!!!
We will be having practice on Wednesdays @ Alamo Sports Complex at 6:00pm for our Pink Noize/Green Thunder Fall league teams. For more information, please call me at 956-454-2385 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pink Noize 3, HeartBreakers 4
Once again what a great finish! You know its going to be a good game every time Pink Noize & the HeartBreakers play. Great season overall. Great job, Victoria Salazar and Kristy Alanis on your HomeRuns today! Congrats Coach Ortiz and crew!
Now, on to the All-Stars. The way the All-Stars were chosen this year was by player rank, points system and final overall decision by league officer (Manny Rodriguez). There will be only 12 players on the team this year. Congratulations to: Mari Baldazo, Kristy Alanis, Elyssa Elizondo, April Luna, Heaven Lozano, Magali Sotelo, Angel Lozano, Marissa Cuevas, Victoria Salazar, Alysha Gonzalez ,Samantha Sandoval and LeeAnne Luna.
Coaching staff: Norma Ortiz (Head Coach), Bibi Ortiz, Hernan Alanis and Mo Sandoval. Good luck All-Stars and bring home a National title!!!
Pink Noize 4, HeartBreakers 0
Awesome job Pink Noize! I knew we had at least one win in us against the HeartBreakers. Now is the time to shine because the league officers are scouting for the All-Stars! You girls still have on more time to show your stuff on Thursday when the officers will be out there again. That goes for you too, HeartBreakers. Lets try to send the strongest team possible to the All-Stars to represent this great City of Alamo.
-Coach E. Luna
Mid-Season Tournament: Pink Noize 1, E-E Marlins 10
Pink Noize, it was fun while it lasted. But, I guess it just wasn't meant to be. My goal was to play at least until Friday and you girls reached that goal. We coaches are very proud of you all! You girls have come a long way since the first day of practice. Especially the ones that had never played softball before. Keep on practicing, playing and learning the game of softball and you will all go far. Congratulations on a fun season!
-Coach E. Luna
Good Luck to the girls who make it to the All-Stars!
Mid-Season Tournament: Pink Noize 10, Weslaco Pink Sox 7
Now that was close, Pink Noize
! Another slow start with a strong finish against the Weslaco Pink Sox
with the final score of 10-7
. If we could only start off a game the way we have been finishing them, we'd be set. I guess I shouldn't complain so much and be glad that we are winning. It's just that i'm not as young as I used to be and afraid that you girls are going to give me a heartattack!!
Keep up the good work, girls! Get Well Soon Chelsea!
We miss you!
Congratulations to Kristy Alanis
on her HomeRun
tonight. You are an amazing talent and very fun to watch! You never cease to amaze me. Those two catches you made were remarkable. Way to move the Pink Sox
pitching coach out of the way. Hernan & Denise
, you should be very proud of your little girl. It has truly been an honor
and a privilege
for me to be her coach!
Hang in there, HeartBreakers
! You may be down, but you are still not out. You still have alot of softball left in you!
-Coach E. Luna
Mid Season Tournament: Pink Noize 10, Donna Lady Bees 4.
Girls, they gave us a scare! For the first couple of innings, I thought it was going to be another one of those games where our bats fell asleep. But, you girls showed alot of heart by hanging in there and coming on strong as we beat the Donna Lady Bees 10-4. From here on out, we need to be consistent in our batting and fielding from the start of the game till the end. Congratulations to Gail Flores, Alysha Gonzalez, Kristy Alanis & April Luna on their HomeRuns tonight. Good luck HeartBreakers on your game tomorrow against Edcouch-Elsa.
-Coach E. Luna
Mid-Season Tournament: Pink Noize 10, Pantherettes 11 in Ovetime
What an awesome game, Pink Noize! We almost had 'em, girls. Just take away a couple of costly errors (not to mention, a terrible judgment call by the umpire) and that game would have been ours. But that is okay, now everybody knows what kind of team we really are. We can compete with the high caliber teams such as the Pantherettes (they beat Pink Noize SELECT: 13-1 last month). We will see them again in the finals!!! We are very proud of all of you girls!
-Coach E. Luna
Pink Noize SELECT Debut
I'd say today was "very interesting". I think we learned alot about where we are
and where we need to be
. That is what I had in mind when I first thought of putting this SELECT team together. To get a jumpstart on the All-Star competition and get rid of that awkwardness that seems to overcome a brand new all-star team. By the time the All-Stars come around we should be "sittin' pretty"! I believe this was an advantage that "Sugar & Spice
" had over the competition last year by taking the same group of girls as a whole. We don't have the luxury of having only one league team this year so that is the purpose of this SELECT team. Please do not get discouraged, folks. The wins will come. Remember "Rome was not built in a day"!
I'd also like to thank both the E-E Astros
and the E-E Marlins
for coming to our field today. It was also pretty cool seeing my best friend from grade school (Buckner Elem.),Louie Segovia
(assis. coach for E-E Astros). We started remembering about how we used to love eating "Boston Baked Beans "(candy coated peanuts) during our lunch break. We would always plant the last baked bean from the box all over the playground in hopes of some day we would have a whole orchard of baked beans and we would never have to buy them. The ironic thing about this story is that one of my players' parent, Mrs P. Salinas (Chelsey's mom) is currently the principal of D.U. Buckner Elem
. Now you know who to thank for all the nice trees around your campus, Mrs. Salinas.
-Coach E. Luna
Pink Noize 1, Lady Warriors 3
Talk about hot & cold . That is is the way this week has been for us as we lost today to the San Juan Lady Warriors, 3-1. Our defense showed up today but our offense is very inconsistent. We need to hit and run the way we did during the last game. Just like we did yesterday during practice. Lets start having fun at the plate again, girls. We will see you on Monday for Batting Practice! Don't forget about the camp/clinic this weekend. Check the links.
Parents, you all looked awesome in the stands with your new "got noize?" team shirts. Thanks for your support! Good luck to the HeartBreakers on their protest as they lost for the first time this season on a bogus decision by the umpire.
-Coach E. Luna
Pink Noize 13, S.J. Lady Bears 4
One word: "WOW"!!! What a difference a day makes. Tonight is a perfect example what I meant by us being a better team than what our record shows as we beat the San Juan Lady Bears 13-4. Very impressive, girls! Keep on having fun and hitting the way we did tonight and we will do good next week in the Mid-Season Tournament. Congratulations to: Isabelle Guzman, Victoria Salazar, Alysha Gonzalez, Kristy Alanis and April Luna on their HomeRuns tonight!!
-Coach E. Luna
Pink Noize 4, S.J. Little Sluggers 5
Have you ever had one of those days when nothing goes right and things just seem to snowball on you? Well, today was "one of those days". From waking up this morning and realizing it was Monday to getting a flat tire on my way home from work. My bad day just continued on as the Little Sluggers beat us 5-4. I thought my luck would change after some questionable calls by the umpire went our way. Not to be as the Little Sluggers showed alot of heart and kept the game within reach. Great catch #2 Kimberly Salinas, catcher for the Little Sluggers! That was AWESOME!!!
Cheer up, Pink Noize. We are a much better team than our record shows. Lets wake up our bats and remember that tomorrow is another day (Mondays only come once a week, right?) Congratulations Victoria Salazar on your 3 RBI HomeRun!
-Coach E. Luna
HeartBreakers 5, Pink Noize 3
Well, I guess it's a done deal. Congratulations HeartBreakers
on your first place title. With cool socks like yours, how can we compete! lol Seriously, your experience really paid off for you all tonight when it really counted. Right when I thought we were going to pull it off, your veteran players came through for you all. For some strange reason, losing to you does not feel like a loss. I guess I figure that in the end , we as the City of Alamo Softball Pinto Division all win. We are going to be competitive in the All-Stars
Keep your heads up, Pink Noize
! We are a very young, inexperienced team and there is still alot of softball to be played. We will
be ready for the Mid-Season Tournament in a couple of weeks.Happy Birthday, Coach Hernan Alanis
. Drinks are on you now that you are old enough to purchase alcohol.
-Coach E. Luna
Pink Noize 4, Pharr Lady Shockers 6.
Well team, I guess it was one of those days when nothing goes your way. Another loss tonight to the Pharr Lady Shockers
: 6-4. From trying to get to the field to the questionable last play. I knew it was not going to be good when I got stuck in traffic on my way to the game. Besides that first inning, the rest of the game was just a blur to me. I guess my bad vibes transferred over to the girls. Sorry team!!
What I would like to ask from the parents and fans is to cheer on your team. Especially when we are down. You'd be surprised how a little crowd enthusiasm can change the whole momentum of the game. So please parents, help the team out in that aspect. Congratulations, Kristy Alanis
on her solo homerun
Congrats again, Heartbreakers
!! We will see you on Thursday!!
-Coach E. Luna
Pink Noize SELECT loses 13-1 vs. Pantherettes
Straight out of the box! Like new shoes, we needed a little breaking in!! Well, the Weslaco Pantherettes did just that as they beat us 13-1. Not bad considering they have been together for several years and we haven't had even one full practice together. We as parents shouldn't get distraught because the girls see that and they feed on that. We can and will get better. Girls, please be patient with the line-up and the positions. Remember that you are all All-Star material and are capable of playing any position out there. We are a SELECT team and we should present ourselves as such. All we ask is that you do your best and , most important of all, have fun out there. I was very impressed with the spirit and enthusiasm you showed in the dug-out even when we were way down. Keep it up!!
Have a Happy Easter
-Coach E. Luna
Thanks for the great pics, Mrs. V. Gonzalez
Pink Noize 10, Lady Warriors 5. Great job, girls!!
Great job girls on another win against the San Juan Lady Warriors: 10-5. The San Juan League house rules threw us off a bit, but we adjusted pretty good. We still need to remember not to make the little mistakes that we fix at practice. Defense needs to remember their assignments and try not to throw the ball around unnecessarily. Overall, good job and keep on improving. Keep on having fun!! Congrats to Magali Sotelo and LeeAnne Luna on their homeruns today. Nice catch, Chelsea Salinas. Also congratulations to our sister-team "The HeartBreakers" on their perfect season so far as they beat the Pharr team: 9-5!!
Happy Easter and
See you all at practice on Mon. at 5:30.
Pink Noize 8, S.J. Lady Bears3. Good job.
Congratulation girls on your first win of the season against the Lady Bears; 8-3. I think we got a little overconfident there for a while and got a bit sloppy. All we have to do is not lose our focus and think of what you are going to do if the ball comes your way. Parents, please be patient with the line-up. It is still very early in the season. We coaches, as well as the girls are still trying to figure things out. Overall a good job and keep on having fun.
See you all at practice on Wed. at 5:30.
Good game girls. Heartbreakers 6, Pink Noize 4
Well, we lost our opening game to our sister-team, The HeartBreakers: 6-4. We got off to a slow start, but towards the middle of the game we came on strong on defense and offense. Don't get discouraged because remember, it's all about having fun and learning the game of softball. Our goal is to get you all to the next level.
Stay motivated & have fun!
-Coach Eddie Luna
