Heather Heigl

Grades 1, 3, 5

I have been a school counselor for ten years.  I received both my BA and my Master of Science in Counselor Education from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY.  I grew up in the WNY area and return often to visit with family and friends.

Prior to PMES, I was at Ivy Creek Elementary for three years, with Orange Co Public Schools for 3 years (Orlando, FL), and Charlotte-Mecklenberg Schools for 3 years (Charlotte, NC).  I am pleased to now be working for Gwinnett County Public Schools, a world-class school system.

I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters.  My daughter Melanie is a Kindergarten student at Puckett's Mill and Chelsea will turn two September.  We like to travel, go shopping, and play together.

Ginna Smith

Grades K, 2, 4

This is my 10th year working as a school counselor in the Dacula area. Prior to PMES, I was at Fort Daniel Elementary for 6 years and at Dacula Elementary for 3 years. I am thrilled to be working at Puckett's Mill Elementary; it has been fun and exciting opening a new school!

After receiving my Masters degree in Counseling from the University of Louisville, I worked for several years as a counselor in a domestic violence program in FL and was in private practice in TX.  When I moved to Gwinnett County, I worked for several years in the community mental health program before deciding to become a school counselor. I recieved an Ed.S. degree in school counseling from Georgia State and have enjoyed working as an elementary school counselor!

I enjoy spending time with my husband and children. I have three children that have all been students in the Gwinnett County School System.  My oldest daughter is married and is a high school teacher, my son is in college in FL and my youngest daughter is a student at Osborne Middle School.  I enjoy traveling, shopping, reading and hanging out with my family and friends!
