To God be the glory!

*1 Corinthians 10:31*

What I'm Up to.....

To God Be the Glory!!!

Our family is so overwhelmed with God's goodness.... especially on Tuesday!

We found out Tuesday morning after saying "farewell" to the Petersen family (they left for their trip early this morning) that the house in KY is finally ours on the 30th!!!!

What an eventful morning, and the day is not over yet! haha

With all the bumps in the road and the amazing things that took place the last few days, All I can say is ........ wow!!! tears welling in eyes

God is so undeservingly good to us!

"Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
The LORD works righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.
The LORD is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.
As for man, his days are like grass;
he flourishes like a flower of the field;
for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting
to everlasting on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children's children,
to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments.
The LORD has established his throne in the heavens,
and his kingdom rules over all.
Bless the LORD, O you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his word,
obeying the voice of his word!
Bless the LORD, all his hosts,
his ministers, who do his will!
Bless the LORD, all his works,
in all places of his dominion.
Bless the LORD, O my soul!"

~Psalm 103~

Photography Oh Hold

This is something I never though was coming, but with so many unexpected, blessed adventures that our family is going though right now, my brother and I will be missing part of our 314 project for a while.

I will be posting on my assigned day (Mondays) on the web-site (see our blog button to the right of your screen), and hope to start up a-photo-a-day, once we settle down.

Thank y'all so much for your wonderful comments you leave on the site, and please keep e'm coming! :)

Update coming soon!

Blessings in Christ,

KY Here We Come!

God is so good ya’ll,

As of today, our little mobile home has officially sold, and the packing and cleaning has begun!

Also… drum roll….

Here is (Lord willing) our new home!  squeals of delight

http://drycreekchronicles.wordpress.com/home-tour/

After much prayer and seeking God’s direction for our family, He has lead us to this lovely home in Kentucky and now (Lord willing) in a couple months it will be our new home!!! J

Please pray that everything would continue to go smoothly with little or no complications and we would continue to patently wait on the Lord.

We still need to be out of our place by March 30th, and thankfully have some dear friends who have offered their home to us for the month or so after we need to be out and waiting on our new home.

What a huge blessing!

I know some of you this might come as a shock seeing as how we were looking at TX and VA, but in Dec. of last year had come across this lovely home and at the time thought it was very nice, but really had not considered KY as a future home.... till now! J

The Lord lead us away from TX (due to the cost of property and nothing standing out to us as our “God-ordained, that’s the one, home”), then the sweet home in KY came to my father’s mind once again, since we had sort of forgotten about it in all the excitement.  One of my brothers (Nik) went with grandpa last week on a house hunting trip in VA and KY and as  they looked at the homes, this one just kept sticking out among the ones they had seen and ….well… Lord willing it is our future home!

The scenery is lovely, the farming supposedly great, plus a couple churches to consider attending that my father had been in contact with (asking them questions and such), it just feels like the Lord is moving us there, and we have such a blessed peace about it too that we know can only be from Him.

So the adventure continues,  please keep us in your prayers!

We cannot thank y’all enough for all your prayers, calls, and sweet encouragement and feel so very blessed. <3

Praying all is well with you  have a wonderful day resting in our Savior’s promises.

In Christ,

Miss Antoinette Joy

Move Update

Please be praying for healthy and safe travels for +Nikolas Konvalin and Grandpa! They leave for property searching in VA and KY tomorrow and will be gone about a week!!!

I will miss them terribly.

Everything is going by very quickly and we are now getting ready to start packing....once again! :)

Thank y'all so very much for all your prayers for our family.

What a blessing!

WE ARE MOVING!!!!

I know some of you might have thought I fell off the face of the earth and am here to tell you all is well and rather exciting at this time in our families lives this year!

 I have been away, but for a good reason…actually a couple reasons!

1.  1.    One of my goals this year is to spend less time on my computer as I have noticed how often I go on just to catch up on blogs, find recipes, keep up with things on Google+ and Facebook, and all are well and good if in moderation which sadly I had not been doing.

I have restricted my time on the computer drastically, only going on a few times a week for no more than a few minutes (or a little longer if I need to write or do anything for my family) and…. *takes a deep breath* ….gave my lap top to one of my brothers who had been needing one for work. This way I can still check my e-mail and everything on the family computer (something I have been wanting to do for some time) and now Nik is happy to have a work computer and I am so thankful I could help him out! J

It has been such a wonderful challenge that I am finding so freeing and have grown so much in my relationship with my Savior and family since then and am so very blessed! <3

2.   2.   Our family this year is doing multiple “Technology Fasts” throughout the year and had our very first one the end of January.  That was very eye-opening and really showed us how much we rely on electricity/technology (lights, computers, phones unless for an emergency, dishwasher, washing machine, etc.) .

This exercise was not only to see how much we use, but to also see how well we could do without many things should either a survival situation occour where we cannot use certain things and to know how much we could live without if the Lord ever lead our family to purchase an off-the- grid home someday!

Y’all can read my father’s post he wrote about it here: http://tonykonvalin.blogspot.com/2012/01/take-technology-fast.html

We have many neat memories already of our first “experiment” and look forward to our next one possibly in March!   Our family is very close, and this fast just brought us that much closer.  We were very thankful for the Lord’s teachings in our little “experiment” and look forward to learning even more with the following fasts this year!

Now if that was not exciting enough…..I have some BIG news!

WE ARE MOVING!!!!

*squeals of delight*

Only two weeks ago we changed realtors.

Within the first week we had our very first couple come to look at our mobile home and a few days later we received an offer from them!

After talking it over with everyone and some quick prayers, we accepted their offer with only a counter offer of two extra weeks to buy us a little more time to now find our new home by March 30th!

We are fervently praying for the Lord’s will in all of this and at the moment are considering TX or VA as our possible future home, unless the Lord decides to lead us elsewhere!

In the next couple weeks, some of our family will be going out to each state to do some property searching and then have a big meeting after everyone gets back to hopefully decide where the Lord is leading us to go.

PLEASE pray that we would find a new home quickly and that we would be able to clearly see where the Lord would have our family go and seek His timing in all of this as everything is happening so fast.  Also, we know that being in escrow, anything can happen, so please pray that if for some strange reason it falls through that we would not be too far along in the process of finding a home or that we would not get discouraged, but continue to seek the Lord’s will for our family knowing His timing is so perfect though we may not understand at the time.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart."
~Jeremiah 29:11-13~

We are very excited to see where the Lord leads our family and what adventures lay around the corner this year!

We have two events planned for this year: The VF “Reformation of Food and Family” conference in July, and the NCFIC “White Unto Harvest” conference in October, and look forward to possibly seeing some of you there!

If there is anything we can be praying for, please let us know and would love to catch up with some of you who I have not had the chance to talk to in a long while! J

In closing here is an excerpt from one of my favorite little books “The Valley of Vision”  that I hope would be of great encouragement to y’all as it has to me:

Fullness

“Heavenly Father,

Thou hast revealed to me myself as a mass of sin, and Thyself as the fullness of goodness,

with strength enough to succor me,

wisdom enough to guide me,

mercy enough to quicken me,

love enough to satisfy me.

Thou hast shown me that because Thou art mine I can live by Thy life,

be strong in Thy strength,

be guided by Thy wisdom; and so I can pitch my thoughts and heart in Thee.

This is the exchange of wonderful love- for me to have Thee for myself, and for Thee to have me, and to give me Thyself.

There is in Thee all fullness of the good I need, and the fullness of all grace to draw me to Thyself, who, else, could never have come.

But having come, I must cleave to Thee,

be knit to Thee, always seek Thee.

There is none all good as Thou art:  With Thee I can live without other things, for Thou art God all-sufficient,

and the glory, peace, rest joy or the world is a creaturely, perishing thing in comparison with Thee.

Help me to know that he who hopes for nothing but Thee, and for all things only for Thee, hopes truly, and that I must place all my happiness in holiness, if I hope to be filled with all grace.

Convince me that I can have no peace at death, nor hope that I should go to Christ, unless I intend to do His will and have His fullness while I live.”

(leather Edition, pages 302-303)

Praying all is well and y’all are having a wonderful new year thus far!

Soli Deo Gloria,

Miss Antoinette Joy

Through All The Changing Scenes Of Life

Original Trinity Hymnal, #522
From Psalm 34:1-4, 7-9

Through all the changing scenes of life,
In trouble and in joy,
The praises of my God shall still
My heart and tongue employ.

Of his deliv'rance I will boast,
Till all that are distressed
From my example comfort take,
And charm their griefs to rest.

O magnify the Lord with me,
With me exalt his Name;
When in distress to him I called,
He to my rescue came.

The hosts of God encamp around
The dwellings of the just;
Deliv'rance he affords to all
Who on his succor trust.

O make but trial of his love;
Experience will decide
How blest they are, and only they,
Who in his truth confide.

Fear him, ye saints; and you will then
Have nothing else to fear:
Make you his service your delight,
He'll make your wants his care.

Technology Fast 2012

Our family has quite a few new goals for the year but one my father came up with that is very new and exciting..... not using technology/electricity (or very minimal amounts, living in the city it is a bit hard to go completely off but we are going to do our very best) for a whole week.
This means no computers, phones (unless for an emergency), lights, lamps, kitchen appliances (dad is allowing the stove, but that is it) etc.

We will be having these "Technology Fasts" for one week every other month during the year for a few reasons:

1. To be more self-sufficiant with limited resources.
2. To be better prepared if there was a survival circumstance in the future, where the power was out for many days...or weeks.
3. Give us time to reflect on how reliant we are on electricity, the areas we cannot live without, or ones we can and writing them down so that when looking at proporties/homes to move in (Lord willing) we can better choose a home in God's good time, and should we find a home with limited resources, know we could live their if need be.
4. This would also give us time to pray and to discern His will for our family and what vision/direction He would have us go with work, a new home, living simply, etc.

Some of us are VERY excited, while others are unsure of what will come to pass during this week of fasting from electricity but pray it will be a good, edifying time and if any of you have planned to do the same or something very similar this year, PLEASE let us know so we can be praying for you and or feel free to join us as well! :)

This means I will be spending less time on my computer than I am already so writing would be the best of getting a hold of me or by phone (just remember when our fasting weeks are).  And please forgive me if I do not respond very quickly!

Time is so precious and we strive to use every second to glorify our Savior in all we do and pray much fruit will come from  our little "experiment"! :)

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
Philippians 4:8 ESV

Morning and Evening Jan. 4th

"Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ."
2 Peter 3:18

"Grow in grace"-not in one grace only, but in all grace. Grow in that root-grace, faith. Believe the promises more firmly than you have done. Let faith increase in fullness, constancy, simplicity. Grow also in love. Ask that your love may become extended, more intense, more practical, influencing every thought, word, and deed. Grow likewise in humility. Seek to lie very low, and know more of your own nothingness. As you grow downward in humility, seek also to grow upward -having nearer approaches to God in prayer and more intimate fellowship with Jesus. May God the Holy Spirit enable you to "grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour." He who grows not in the knowledge of Jesus, refuses to be blessed. To know him is "life eternal," and to advance in the knowledge of him is to increase in happiness. He who does not long to know more of Christ, knows nothing of him yet. Whoever hath sipped this wine will thirst for more, for although Christ doth satisfy, yet it is such a satisfaction, that the appetite is not cloyed, but whetted. If you know the love of Jesus-as the hart panteth for the water-brooks, so will you pant after deeper draughts of his love. If you do not desire to know him better, then you love him not, for love always cries, "Nearer, nearer." Absence from Christ is hell; but the presence of Jesus is heaven. Rest not then content without an increasing acquaintance with Jesus. Seek to know more of him in his divine nature, in his human relationship, in his finished work, in his death, in his resurrection, in his present glorious intercession, and in his future royal advent. Abide hard by the Cross, and search the mystery of his wounds. An increase of love to Jesus, and a more perfect apprehension of his love to us is one of the best tests of growth in grace.

A New Year's Prayer

*A New Year's prayer to my brothers and sisters in Christ:*

May y'all continue to enjoy the blessings of the last day of 2011, and look forward to the future blessings of 2012.

May the Lord give you and your families many things to be thankful for, and that you would continue to be strengthened and encouraged in your walk with Him and enjoy the bounties of His goodness!

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
  and do not lean on your own understanding.
  In all your ways acknowledge him,
  and he will make straight your paths."
~Proverbs 3:5-6~

I pray this new year would bring much joy and new adventures as you seek to glorify our Savior, and that when you come across a trial in your path, that you would remember He who holds all things together and lean on Him for strength and peace.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
~1 Thessalonians 5:16-18~

May your yearly goals be reached (and then some), that you would reflect His loving-kindness to those who are lost, and by His grace, be used as a vessel for His glory!

Last, but not least, I pray that we would never take any year, month, or day for granted and always remember our lives are but a vapor and that we would strive to live every moment we have for His glory.

God bless y'all and a Happy New Year!

Soli Deo Gloria,

~Miss Antoinette~

Valley of Vision Excerpt

Morning Dedication
(Valley of Vision pages 220-221)

Almighty God,
As I cross the threshold of this day I commit myself, soul, body,affairs, friends, to Thy care;
Watch over, keep, guide, direct, sanctify, bless me.
Incline my heart to Thy ways;
Mould me wholly into the image of Jesus, as a potter forms clay;
May my lips be a well tuned harp to sound Thy praise;
Let those around see me living by the Spirit, trampling the world underfoot, unconformed to lying vanities, transformed by a renewed mind, clad in the entire armour of God, shinning as an never-dimmed light, showing holiness in all my doings.
Let no evil this day soil my thoughts, words, hands.
May I travel miry paths with a life pure from spot or stain.
In needful transactions let my affection be in heaven, and my love soar upwards in flames of fire, my gaze on unseen things, my eyes open to the emptiness, fragility, mockery of earth and its vanities.
May I view all things in the mirror of eternity, waiting for the coming of my Lord, listening for the last trumpet call, hastening unto the new heaven and earth.
Order this day all my communications according to Thy wisdom, and to the gain of mutual good.
Forbid that I should not be profited or made profitable.
May I speak each word as if my last, and walk each step as my final one.
If my life should end today, let this be my best day.

Goodbye My Buddy

"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
forever."
~Psalm 23~

Rejoicing in knowing grandma is with Jesus and no longer suffering! What a HUGE blessing this experience has been and can only thank and praise my Savior for all the blessings he has given us and blessing me with such a wonderful grandmother...my "Buddy".

A *HUGE* thank you to all our prayer worriers who have been such an encouragement and blessing to our family through this rough time.

Please pray for comfort, direction and guidance as we face a new life ahead and not knowing exactly where that will be just yet! :) We greatly look forward to what the Lord has in store for our family and are looking forward to a much needed trip in a few weeks time!

With much gratitude and thankfulness,
Miss Antoinette

Toe-Tappn' Fun!

What a refreshing, toe-tappn', joy of a evening we had Wednesday of last week!
We were blessed to not only have our very first church outreach event, but to be able to share this special day with the Winton family.

For those who do not know the Winton's, they are a Christian, home school family of 6 and the men play outstanding bluegrass music!  They tour all around the U.S. and do house concerts, church, and other events and were so very glad they made it to our area to put this wonderful fun-filled night together and thank them so very much for their time and blessing us with their God-given talents with amazing music!

I hope y’all enjoy the video recorded by yours truly, and edited by one of my brothers! (sorry no photos, my pictures of this event did not come out so well)

Thanks Andrew!

An Unexpected Harvest of Blessings

Our family was blessed this year with being able to have a GARDEN!!! Never did we think with all the busyness of life we would be able to take on such a endeavor, but by the grace of God we did!

Once we settled in with our grandparents, I noticed that grandpa's once nicely tended garden was beginning to look so poor and neglected with grandpa's care and love being ever more focused on his wife...my grandmother, that I knew I must do something (with the Lord's help) to help make it a happy garden again!  Plus, this would give me and other family members something to do to keep busy with the new realization at the time of my dear grandmother at any moment going home to be with her Savior.... it was the PERFECT time to start reviving the garden.....and boy did it ever and still is, in more ways than one.

We have harvested (and still are) many cherry tomatoes, some jalapenos, basil, LOTS of Oregano (the garden when it was being neglected, was growing a forest of Oregano that I dried and are still using to this day), flat leaf parsley, cayenne peppers, garlic chives/flowers, and many delightful flowers of many shapes and sizes around the mobile!
Grandpa has been a HUGE help with showing me how to plant certain things and harvesting too, and has started keeping up the garden with me here and there and I just LOVE it!

Everything just seems brighter and cheerier now that the garden is alive again and am so thankful that the Lord blessed us with such an abundant harvest this year and an opportunity to capture His creation in my photography and cannot thank Him enough for this little blessing.

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die;

a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

a time to kill, and a time to heal;

a time to break down, and a time to build up;

a time to weep, and a time to laugh;

a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;

a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to seek, and a time to lose;

a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

a time to tear, and a time to sew;

a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

a time to love, and a time to hate;

a time for war, and a time for peace.

What gain has the worker from his toil?  I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with.  He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.  I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man.

 I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him.  That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away."

~Ecclesiastes 3:1-15~

Praying your Labor Day weekend is a blessed one!  See photos of our garden in the Photo/video section and I hope you enjoy them!

Soli Deo Gloria,

Miss Antoinette

A Word in Season

The last few months I have been reading the wonderful book of Proverbs and find how much wisdom I still lack, but strive to continually build up such insights each and every day!

Ahhhh...... what a blessing it is to constantly be growing and learning about our Savior!

This excerpt below is from Vol. 2 of my new favorite book series called "A Word in Season" by R.J. Rushdoony!  I could not put it into better words as these:

Chapter 18

“Wisdome: True or False?”

By God’s standards, as I understand the scriptures, successful people are those who change themselves by God’s grace and in terms of God’s Word.  Unsuccessful – and many times dangerous – people try to change others in terms of their own standards.

The world today is all too full of men and woman whose answer to all problems is to compel other people to change, by law or by force.  True, I will have no problems if everyone around me is compelled to conform to my ideas, but I will then be the problem.

So it is, in my opinion, with our human society today: we are too often the problem.  We have too often forsaken God, and made our own ideas our law and god, and we too often expect the rest of mankind to be as wise as we are in our own eyes.  We insist on doing our own thing, as though wisdom were born in us, and the world empty of all common sense until we came along.  In our human pride, we erect our own thoughts too often into a position of judge over God, and our prejudices into a new revelation of truth.  They cry wisdom from of old is: “O ye simple, understand wisdom: and ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.” (Proverbs 8:5).

Wisdom is not in man, the fallen creature, but in the Lord.  Endurance and triumph in an age of storm and crisis depends, our Lord says, on being grounded in Him and in His word.  Everyone that “heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man” (Matthew 7:24).

The test of wisdom in the final analysis is to establish our life, thought, and action on the Rock Jesus Christ.  To do otherwise is to build on sand.  Gaining wisdom is in the daily act of changing and growing as we try to conform ourselves increasingly to His Word.

The rule of wisdom in human affairs is not every man being wise in his own eyes, and a law unto himself, but men being transformed by Christ and a daily trying to conform themselves to and by His Word.

Where is your wisdom?  Is it in Christ?  Is it in yourself?

So what have y'all been reading as of late?

Blessings in Christ,

Miss Antoinette
