Brunch at Marseilles & "On A Clear Day" on Broadway in NYC

Welcome to the Princeton Alumnae Website!

Here you'll find updated pictures and news about our alumnae meetings, social gatherings and philanthropy projects.  Feel free to add pictures and messages.  This is your website!

Gamma Phi Beta members of the Princeton Alumnae Chapter come from Princeton, Plainsboro, West Windsor, East Windsor, Hightstown, Lawrenceville, Pennington, Montgomery, Stockton, Hopewell, Ewing, Lambertville and Trenton. We even have members on the PA side of the Delaware.  In other words, the greater Princeton area. We represent Greek letter chapters from many colleges and universities all over the USA.

We all have volunteer and professional commitments that keep us very busy, so we usually have our meetings in the evening over dinner.  We often travel to museums, concerts and theater in New York City and in Philadelphia on weekends. (In fact, we have gone backstage to meet Gamma Phi's Kelli O'Hara and Kristin Chenoweth when they were performing on Broadway! And we often see world-famous violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn when she is in concert!!)

The Jersey Girls - Brunch & Broadway - "Love, Loss & What I Wore"

2011 - A Very Good Year!

Like fine wine, the Princeton Area Alumnae Chapter just gets better and better...

For what has become an annual event, members went to New York City to see a play -- Nora Ephron's "Love, Loss and What I Wore."   The day just flew by as we visited on the train, at lunch and then home again after the play.  For one of our art trips, two car loads went to Philadelphia to view the Barnes Museum collection before the present museum closed for relocation.  It might have been rainy, but that didn't stop us from having lunch and a tour of "The Barnes."  Over the summer -- on a VERY hot day -- a group gathered at the Grounds for Sculpture for a tour of the old state fair grounds, now an atelier for J Seward Johnson and other sculptors.  Lunch at Rats helped us cool down and visit.

We love our dinner meetings!  We've been to Wegman's -- yes, we each grab prepared food and meet upstairs.  For finer dining, we gathered at Main Street Cafe in Princeton -- a restaurant owned by the son of a Gamma Phi Beta from University of Washington.  And Founder's Day, we gathered at The Yardley Inn for the finest dining.

Once again, we held a successful yard sale to raise a few hundred dollars for camping.  A few hundred dollars in checks and ShopRite gift cards went to RISE Community Service for Thanksgiving.  Twelve little girls had their Chirstmas wishes come true when the gifts members donated were given to them at a RISE Christmas party.

As members of the Central Jersey Alumnae Panhellenic Association, we supported the annual Spa Day with our choices of massages, facial, or pedicures.  And finally, we gathered in December for a Holiday Brunch with our Panhellenic sisters -- each bringing a favorite dish to share and $10 for the scholarship fund.

It has been a very good year!  Check out the calendar above to see what is coming up in the winter and spring of 2012.  Happy New Year to all, and to all a Gamma Phi Beta hug!!

Fun and Philanthropy

Fall 2010 - Full of Philanthropy and Fundraising!

This fall, we have once again raised several hundred dollars for camping for girls! Members contributed yard sale items for a community market to raise the funds.  Thanks to Cathy McMann for letting us use her front yard for the sale.  In March, 2011, we will apply for supplemental funds from the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation to support Princeton Young Achievers and Camp Adahi Council of Camp Fire USA.

We helped the Central Jersey Alumnae Panhellenic raise hundreds of dollars for scholarships, and we did so at a Spa Day.  There was a catered lunch along with facials, massages and pedicures.  A great way to spend the day!

Chapter members contributed $500.00 to RISE for Thanksgiving baskets for the working poor of the Mercer County area.  For Christmas, twelve little girls from RISE families will have their wishes come true because Gamma Phi's shopped for them.  Gift cards that RISE can use at Walmart, Target, ShopRite and Superfresh will also help to make the season bright at RISE.

Thanks to everyone who worked, shopped and contributed to make each project a success!

Camping Contributions 2011

With the help of the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation, our Princeton Alumnae Chapter contributed $350 to pay for one girl to spend a week at Adahi, a Camp Fire USA camp in Pennsylvania.  We also contributed nearly $1400.00 to RISE Community Service Summer HELP in Hightstown.  In addition, we used $200.00 from our 2010 fall fundraiser to purchase art and writing supplies for RISE.  Be proud, Princeton Alumnae; and thanks!
