WELCOME...
...to the Western Carolina University Program for the Study of Developed Shorelines' new Digital Image Library.
PSDS has been documenting storm impacts and development changes along our nation's shorelines for over 20 years and, during this time, we have acquired literally tens of thousands of images.
Although we now capture imagery (stills and video) digitally, the vast majority of our library prior to 2000 is in the form of 35 mm slides. So, in order to make these images accessible, we're about to embark on an ambitious effort to identify and scan as many slides as we can over the course of the next year (and beyond).
If you'd like to be notified when this site is updated, send an email to acoburn@wcu.edu or, if you are a Shutterfly member, click on the Members drop-down menu at the upper right and click on "Send message to site owner."
This is a work-in-progress, and the site will be continually updated as we add new imagery, GPS track files, .KMZ files for use in Google Earth, videos and links to other sites of interest (such as PSDS).
In the meantime, we hope you enjoy what's already available.
