Brian spoke to 32 gardeners today on various vegetable and fruit tree diseases. The audience was mostly made up of people who have never had a Master Gardener course. I had attendees tell me that they didn’t know about University of Wisconsin and Extension programs . Brian was so informative, down to earth and interjected such humor into his program….everyone could tell that he loved his vocation.
Brian Hudelson is affectionately known as “Dr. Death” because of his love of plant diseases. Brian received his BS in Botany, Bacteriology and Molecular Biology, MS in Biometry and PhD in Plant Pathology from the UW-Madison, and in 1998, became the director of the Plant Disease Diagnostics Clinic (PDDC). The PDDC, part of the and Life Sciences at the and , provides expertise in diagnosing plant disease problems, and provides information on diseases and their control to a wide range of clientele throughout the state of
