These pictures include a summary of the over 10,000 pictures that I took in my August 2010 trip to the Northern Territory in Australia. I attended the Virtualtourist "survivor camp" and meeting, which were based in Alice Springs. I flew into Darwin from Los Angeles. The summary pictures show things from my journey from Darwin to Alice Springs and the drive back with VT member, 1+1 (Zyg), who is a ranger in Kakadu National Park. The survivor camp included Uluru and several remote sites in the West MacDonnell Ranges. The VT meeting included the wacky Henley-on-Todd Regatta, which is held in a dry river bed in Alice Springs. The actual itinerary and the associated videoclips are on my Virtualtourist web pages. I took many pictures of flowering plants. NT had exited a 15-year drought in some places with way-above-normal rainfall. For example, Palm Valley had had 500 mm of rain in 3-4 months when the average annual rainfall was 78 mm. It was very unusual to see so many plants blooming in the East and West MacDonnell Ranges, Alice Springs and all along the Stuart Highway to Darwin.
