What is a Podcast?
A Podcast is similar to an online radio or television show that you can subscribe to. The term is a combination of “iPod,” and “broadcast.”
A Podcast is an audio program, like a homemade radio show, that is made by someone and then posted to the Internet for you to download and listen to via iTunes or your iPod.
A Podcast is simply a recording that is than uploaded as an audio file.
People make Podcasts about any subject that they're passionate about - from sports to comic books, from literature to cars to movies. Some TV and radio shows even have Podcasts of their latest episodes or as supplements to them.
Where do you find Podcasts?
You can find Podcasts all over the Internet - they're hosted at lots of websites and a quick search at any search engine will find you lots of links.
How do you make a Posdcast?
You can use several program to create a Podcast such as Audacity (for PC), Garage Band (for MAC), Skype, etc.
We will learn how to make Podcasts in class this coming year and upload our own, discussing books and concepts we learn in class!
