I am really working hard at getting better with my photography skills with each and every photoshoot I do. I think I become happier & happier with my results as I get more shoots too. Here are some examples of what I've currently done and working on doing. Hope you enjoy looking at them :)
I had the chance to do a photoshoot with the Awesome Jennifer Wakefield a few weeks ago. She wanted to do a High School shoot so luckily a dear friend's little sister was the perfect age! I hadn't seen her since she was tiny so I was shocked to see this beautiful girl when she arrived at our location. It was an absolute joy to get some amazing photos of her and I now think that I'd really like to shoot High School photos....it was a lot of fun. :) So posted, are some of my favorites from the photoshoot!
Well...my health is crazy back and forth right now so my photo taking has slowed lately. But I do have a few new photos to post. My dear friends were in town (for albeit a very sad reason) from California so they had a 5th birthday party for Dylan while they were here. This made my little boy very happy since he considers him a friend that he hasn't seen in a long time. I played photographer while still enjoying the party. It was a great day and I got some great shots. Posted a few of my favorites.
On a good note....I have photos to take next weekend. My little ones need Easter photos and I'll be doing a family shoot too of a great friend. Here's hoping for good weather. No rain and no heat!!!
Well, its been a month since I've updated this so I thought I'd do so while while I'm stuck lying here sick. Seems that my health is all over the place these days, so my photo taking has lessened. I did a photo shoot of my baby sister for her birthday recently and will get photos up soon. She's extremely photogenic and the photos are gorgous. I also got some amazing sea-life photos while I was in San Diego with my hubby and my parents. I will get those up soon too. I did have an infant photoshoot in the works the day after I came back from California, but that is when I got really sick and I've continued to get worse each day since then. Hopefully I will get better soon and be able to reschedule. I really wanted to try infant photos, there's nothing more wonderful than some amazing baby photos to cherish.
But for now, I will finish editing the photos of my sister and continue to rest....that's all I know to do to keep myself out of having to go to the hospital. Man, it sucks being such a brittle diabetic!
Last night I got to walk around a play photographer at a dear friends fundraiser. That was a brand new experience for me. I'm used to taking pictures of couples or children or families for the purpose of them wanting portraits done to have for themselves or give to family members. But this time around I was at a good-sized pub surrounded by tons of people there for the purpose of raising funds to help a friend with some medical treatments she has to have. And my only job was to walk around and take photos....capturing the raffles, the appatizers, the drinks and the guest of honor. It was different, very different....yet very fun. Hopefully I'll have some photos to post on here in the next few days!
Yesterday I had the best day. I haven't just hung out with my dear friend, Rachel, in forever. Life with all its health complications and having 2 kids seems to get in the way of just hanging out anymore.
But I had some absolutely beautiful hair pieces made by Hip Couture Diva to photograph and Rachel was sweet enough to agree to model them for me. Went to one of my favorite places to take portraits and just clicked away. Beautiful photos of her, I was so happy. You seriously have to go to my links tab on her and visit the Etsy shop.....you will fall in love with her stuff. I know I did. It was so much fun for me to photograph these pieces and oh how I love having a camera in hand, so it was a great time.
Ended the afternoon just having coffee and talking...which we never get to do. Thankful for the day. Now I'm enjoying editing my photos. There are some sneak peaks up on here to see though,so take a look and head on over to the shops website and look at the amazing things she makes! :)
I have to say I have the best hubby in the whole world!!! He gave me an early Valentines Day gift....I NEW CAMERA!!! Yup, and a new zoom lens to boot!!! Can I just state how much I love this man and how awesome it feels that he supports me in my LOVE to take photos!?!
So, needless to say, I am super excited about doing this first shoot of hair clips and headwraps coming up! Aiming to please and have fun doing it at the same time! Yay!
I got a box in the mail today filled with the most adorable little goodies. Hair clips and hats that just about any mommy would love to put on her little girl. So the model search is on for some adorable little infant girls for the hats. I think my daughter is probably going to beg to be able to model the pink hair clip herself once she sees it. She's such a girly-girl. I am so excited to get to be photographing these and can't wait to see the turn out.
I had my very first maternity shoot today...now looking back, there was alot I'd do different....but at the same time I got a few nice shots, especially for a first shoot. Luckily it was for a friend that I absolutely adore and even though that made me more nervous it also made me a little more comfortable, if that even makes sense. It was all about what she wanted. My favorite shot ended up being one of her first born in her lap and the look he's giving her as his hand rest on her tummy, it's just priceless. And the one of the blocks on her tummy. Wish I would have had studio lights to play with but not having them, I still did decent. I'm feel very lucky and priveledged that she allowed me to try taking pictures for my first time with her. I will post a few of them soon.
I'm very happy to say that once we're done with the hassle of moving I actually have a couple of photoshoots in the works :) And they are both subject matter that I haven't done so I'm completely excited and nervous at the same time for that!
A sweet friend of mine asked me to do a family photoshoot for her and beside posing my own family in pictures I haven't done a family shoot. Hopefully it will turn out really well.
And then I've got a sweet friend who is pregnant and I asked her if she'd be willing to let me try out some maternity poses on her....who can say no to free maternity pics right? She's naturally beautiful so it shouldn't be hard to get some great shots and we're going to incorporate the daddy and her other 2 children into some shots too so awesome is that?
Cant wait for these shoots :)
Well Mother's day is just around the corner and I have to say it has a whole new meeting for me since meeting my fiance and having his 2 children (now my 2 kids) in my life. Last year was my 1st celebrated Mother's Day for ME and not just my mom and I was surprised with a sweet sterling silver "mom" necklace that I probably never even took off for like 5 months straight after they gave it to me. Its a whole new feeling celebrating with my mom and yet celebrating being a mom to my kids. And it's a wonderful feeling! I love my 2 kids so very much and honestly can't wait to have this mothers day with them again.
In celebrating mother's day this year one of local photographers that I admire is having a Mother's day give-away that blows me away. There are so many things in this give-away that I love and would love to use in children's photoshoots now that I've been made aware of them. I thought all of you might like to see this give-away and be introduced to some amazing new products I'm sure we all will quickly become addicted to. (As well as her photography). So here is the link to her blog and give-away!
