With the end of the school year drawing near, we still have many fun activities for the students at Renfro Elementary.  Here is a brief list of things to look forward to.  Many of the activities require volunteers to make them successful so see our volunteer opportunities below to see what you would be interested in helping with.  Notes will also come home with volunteer opportunities.

 

• Spring Book Fair- Apr 23-27
• Kindergarten Graduation- May 3
• 4th Grade Party- May 4
• Field Day- May 10
• Carnival Day- May 11

The 2nd half of the school year is now underway.  Check back often to see what fun and exciting things are happening.

Thank you to everyone that send in Box Tops.  The winning classes received an ice-cream party.

The Halloween Carnival was a huge success.  Everyone had a great time.  Thank you to everyone that helped with the activities or that sent in treats and candy.  We couldn't have done it without you all.

Thank you to all who helped make this year's candy bar fundraiser a success.  We raised enough money to help fund all of the activities that we would like to sponsor for Renfro Elementary this school year.  Thanks again!

The Candy Bar Fundraiser has started.  Candy Bar boxes were passed out today (Friday, September 2).  Please remind your child to stay safe and only sell to people he/she knows.  No door to door please.

 

If your child sell one box and would like to sell more just send a note in with the money from the first box.  Parent's are also welcome to come in and sign out more boxes of candy bars.

 

The candy bar money is due Friday, September 16.  Thank you to everyone who is helping sell candy bars or that helped with the sorting of the boxes of candy bars.

Welcome to new school year!  Last year was a great year and the Renfro PTA hopes to make this one even better. As in the past, our goal is to bring a whole year of special events to Renfro children and their families.  The members of the Renfro PTA Board are:

2nd V.P.– Linda Strittmatter

Treasurer– Jan Harmon

Secretary– Cheryl Smith

 

Some of the many things we plan to continue to do this year are:

 

·   Hold fundraisers to help fund many programs and activities (i.e. special assemblies & classroom parties)

·   Sponsor many fun events for the families of Renfro Elementary (i.e. Halloween Carnival, Field Day & Carnival/Fun Day)

·   Support teachers in the classroom

 

To make certain these things can happen, we need the support and help of parents.  The simplest way to help is to Join the PTA.  This requires no further obligations other than signing up and paying a one time (per year) dues fee of $5.  The top 3 classes for PTA membership will get an ice-cream party.  (A sign-up form is attached to the newsletter.)  Attending our monthly PTA meetings are another way to help our school and give input.  Our 1st meeting is August 23 at 6:30 pm.  If you’d like to do more, and have even just an hour, let us know because volunteers are needed to make everything happen.
