No longer Available~~

FROSTY HAS BEEN PLACED!  THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING THIS FINE MARE!

Contact Hardin Mountain Trail Horses if you are in the market for a well trained trail horse, we often have them available that are not advertised.  blueroantrailhorse@att.net

This registered  Missouri Fox Trotter mare is available to purchase for the modest asking price of $3,000.

Rio's Candy Frost is a 4 year old spayed mare (spayed because of NO fault of her own), stunning chestnut roan in color (no gray gene anywhere!), just an inch under 15 hands, smart and sensible and as pleasant dispositioned as they come.

Frosty's World~~

That Forever Home~~

Well Frosty did it.  She found her forever home and her life trail partner.

She was everything we had expected her to be on the trail this past weekend at the IQHA Charity Ride and we are so proud of her and so blessed to have been allowed to train her.

There will be more coming if you missed Frosty.  Don't let the term 'spayed' mare turn you away.  They are amazing trail horses.

We will have two or three more brightly colored  4 and 5 year old spayed MFT mares ready to go next Spring so I hope you will check back with Hardin Mountain Trail Horse Training, blueroantrailhorse@att.net

Thanks for visiting and for considering Frosty the Amazing Trail Horse

Gearing Up!

Frosty is learning trail essentials this week.  She didn't mind 'slicker' breaking at all.  Thought us silly to think there might be an issue tho we knew it wouldn't be much.  Took to it like a duck to water so to speak.  ;o)  Saddle bags coming right up.  Oh and a breast collar earlier in the week.  Did exactly what we thought there!  Might as well have built a wall in front of her. Learning to go forward in such a confining apparatus can be a chore~~  just ask Frosty....  It's old hat now tho.  Who would have thunk it could be so hard.  <grin, grin>  Hoping we don't NEED slickers at the quarter horse ride this weekend.....

Remiss!

This trail rider has been remiss in letting the world know that Frosty is an awesome trail horse!!!  Her training went well and she has graduated to full time trail horse.  Pictures will begin to be posted as we find time to be by the computer.  She is seeing trails almost daily and is proving to be brave and a leader.  Yes, she'll follow others happily, but she doesn't shirk when asked to lead.  Last night Frosty took her first solo ride and did it with ease and with almost complete relaxtion.  What a great horse this little one is!

Blessings on US!

Frosty gets to stay longer at Hardin Mountain Trail Horse Training!  We are so excited.....

She will be enjoying our Indiana trails until the middle of October now and should be an awesome trail horse well before that!  Besides regular trail riding, we also plan to use her as an official Trail Boss Hoss to guide the gaited horses who will be attending the AQHA Ride at Midwest Trail Ride the second weekend in September.  All breeds (and the general public) are welcomed to participate, so join us at the ride and see Frosty at work.  http://iqha.com/

She still needs a forever home for the negotiable price of $3000. It may become increasingly difficult to part with her for that price with the extra training however, so if you are interested we suggest acting soon before her owner wises up!!!!!

Frosty's Tale

Frosty's trainer felt a need to elaborate on the reason Frosty is spayed after hearing a couple comments regarding only fractious mares are spayed, he is adamant to let folks know that spaying is the 'general' procedure practiced by Frosty's owner who spays and gelds all colts and fillies that come from their breeding program.  Doing so has nothing to do with temperment or disposition, but with usability.  They are all bred to be superior trail horses and the owner wants to give them the fullest advantage available to see they become the best at what they do.

Frosty is sweet and quiet, sensible and intelligent!  Spaying is just icing on this equine cake.....

In Training Now!

Frosty has been in training at Hardin Mountain Trail Horse Training in Martinsville, Indiana since late May and is progressing right along. Her first 60 days will be completed August 11.  If purchased before then, the new owner is welcomed to be involved in these final weeks of her training.

She is progressing with the neck rein and is starting to turn well.  She isn't set in her fox trot yet, but that will come easily with time.  She has a low easy lope, tho she hasn't done it much.

The Same Every Day!

Frosty hails from Alabama.  She's bred like royalty and would definitely make a show horse if a person was so inclined.

We, however, are teaching her to be a trail horse.

This nice filly is spayed so no hormones will ever be in play. She's the same every day.  No monthly 'issues' to contend with.  Better than any gelding!!!!!

Mares get the job done!
