I'm very fortunate that I am again working for a company that gives me the week between Christmas and New Years off and Robert is able to take vacation during that time as well. We took Bobby out of school and were able to spend lots of time together over the past week! We had playdates with friends, shopping, visited the North Park Trains display and of course lots of play time. We were also able to get a big project accomplished in Connor's room. I think we are officially ready for his arrival!
I was also able to take some time to meet up for brunch with some of my old high school friends that I was on drill team with as well as drive out to visit Brooke and her girls. Lots of fun! Jillian is making progress, prayers she keeps eating well and does not need another surgery to have a G port put in for feeding!

This year we spent New Year's Eve at our friends the Laumer's. It's been tradition the past 5 years or so to spend the night together and this year we had quite the crowd! We had fun hanging out, playing games and eating chili & queso.
On New Year's day we dined at my parents on black-eyed peas and corn bread, hoping to bring us some luck & prosperity in 2012.
We had a great Christmas this year (or I guess last year if you want to be technical about it since it's after the first). As usual, we spent Christmas Eve with Robert's mom by attending the Christmas Eve service at the church we've been attending, having dinner, looking at some lights and then opening presents. Bobby was able to open one of his presents from 'Ama a little early in the day because we wanted to give him some time to play with it - he got a Jeep! It's too cute and he loves driving it up and down the street. We had a great time opening presents with him and taking some pictures.
On Christmas Day we headed over to my parents where my side of the family gathers for Christmas. We opened presents with the kids, had a great dinner, and then did a Christmas Exchange with the adults. It was fun, and as per last year there were a couple hot items that traded around. The kids had a great time playing together and the older "kids" played games into the night.
We had a fun and festive Halloween with lots of activites! This year Bobby decided he wanted to be a fireman, then later it turned into he was a fireman and Iron Man per his description (but he only actually dressed up as a fireman).
We started off a couple weekends ago Bobby's school had their fall festival. Bobby had fun running into his classmates and teachers and playing all the games. Bobby also helped us carve pumpkins this year, he enjoyed scooping the goup out and eating the toasted seeds. This past weekend we had a costume party at one of his classmates houses. We all (even the adults) dressed up and had fun playing games. Sunday we headed to the carnival at Elevate Life (the church my brother & his family attend). Bobby had a good time riding the rides with his cousins! Then Monday we of course did the traditional trick-or-treating. We teamed up again with our neighbors daughters Bella (Ariel) and Lily (Jasmine) and the Balkin's took Liam for a stroll with us too. At the end of the night all our feet were tired and we had LOTS of candy!
This weekend we attended Homecoming at North Texas. We started off Satuday with attending the parade. We met up with the Larsen Family and picked out a good spot to watch the parade. Bobby had a blast waving to everything that passed by and picking up the candy and other goodes that were thrown out. We saw the band, cheerleaders, dancers, horses, floats, old cars, and old war vehicles.
After the parade we headed towards the game against ULM. I have to say that I was very much impressed at the tailgating and the crowds that were there at the new stadium. It actually felt like a real college tailgating event. After walking around and getting Bobby's face painted we headed in to watch the Eagles win over the War Hawks. Bobby and Max (and the rest of us) had a great time at the game!
This past weekend we decided to visit the State Fair. It's been since before Bobby was born that either Robert or I have been, so we were due for a fair day. It was so much fun. We met up for a bit with sister Cindi, Mark, and his kids and fed the animals and saw Logan & Landry's entries into the fair. They both did an awesome job and Landry won First Place and Best of Show! Seeing her reaction when she saw her ribbons was priceless and such a special moment for their family! Then our tummy's started grumbling for some state fair food so we ended up splitting ways. After grabbing some food (nachos, corn dogs, and the Fried Buffalo Wing in a Flapjack - all spread out throughout the day) we ventured to the car shows, some exhibits, rode the ferris wheel and some other kiddie rides for Bobby, played a few games and of course a picture with Big Tex. Bobby had a blast, I'm so glad we were able to take him this year when he really enjoyed it!
The other parts of the weekend were spent with Bobby having his soccer game and then Robert took him to the fall festival at Calloways with his buddy Maxton while mom and I had a girls day with some friends and headed out towards Canton for lots of shopping. I love getting to spend the day with my mom and great friends! Saturday evening we had dinner for Emma's 6th birthday (can't believe she's 6!) with the family at Dave & Bev's. We all had a great time celebrating a very special girl!
We had a busy weekend full of soccer and other fun things. Friday we were invited out on our friends the Sharps new boat. We brought the kids along and they had such a fun time. We anchored in a spot for a few hours and grilled, watched the beautiful sunset and caught up.
Saturday we started the day with Bobby's first soccer game! The team (nor the refs) paid much attention to formal rules, but all the kids had fun which I think was the important thing. Our team scored 3 goals and one of them was by Bobby. Check out the video! He had such a great time and would get upset when it wasn't his turn to play. So much better than the other way around which I was afraid might happen. Can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out! And thank you to his cheering crowd for coming out!
Sunday was my birthday and we started the day off with attending church and then brunch at Blue Mesa (yummy!). This week I celebrated with some of my girlfriends by having dinner at Esparsas in Grapevine and then Painting with a Twist. So fun!
I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year, and not just a day but a whole weekend. On Saturday my mom, nana, sisters and I had high tea at Patti's Place. This is the 3rd year that at least some of the ladies in the family could attend. The tea was yummy as usual! After tea we took some family pictures on the porch of the house where the tea room is. It's always a great opportunity to snap some pictures to remember the special day.
Since my oldest sister Pam was in town we invited the whole family over for a grill out and game night. Robert and Mark worked the grill and Mark made us some "special" drinks that even my nana enjoyed! After dinner everyone stayed around for some games. I think we all had a fun time hanging out together.
On Sunday we went to church at the church we have been visiting, Hope Fellowship, and then headed for brunch at Blue Goose. Since the weather was warm and the pool wasn't open yet our neighbors and us set up our "pools" for the kids to run and splash in. My boys were so sweet to me all weekend (not that they always aren't!) and Bobby gave me lots of snuggles which I really enjoyed and took advantage of!
This past weekend we took a road trip down to San Antonio to take Bobby to Sea World. We left Friday morning and arrived in San Antonio to spend the late afternoon on the River Walk. We decided to take one of the river bardge tours, I had never done one and we thought Bobby would enjoy. He really liked being on a boat! We enjoyed stopping and listening to music and watching dancers as we wandered around the River Walk. Then we stopped to dine overlooking the river and headed back to our hotel. Getting Bobby settled down for the night was a challenge, he was so pumped to go to Sea World the next day!! We all stayed in one room, but we brought with us Bobby's pop-up tent that 'Ama gave him for his birthday so he could "camp out". He did great with sleeping in the tent...once we finally got him settled down.
On Saturday morning we headed out to Sea World! I was amazed at how many people were lined up to get in before it even opened! Bobby loved finally being at Sea World and we wore ourselves out!! We saw all but one of the shows on Saturday, but I think Azul was all of our favorites. We also were able to feed the sea lions and the dolphins, Bobby had no issues picking up the stinky fish and throwing it out for them. Bobby was also able to ride the "kid rides" at the park in the new Seasme Street area. He loved every minute of it (check out the video of him on the roller coasters)! Even though we spent ALL day on Saturday at the park and wore blisters on our feet, we decided to go back for more on Sunday! Since we didn't get to play in the water Saturday (which Bobby was really looking forward to) we decided to go back. We purchased Fun Passes which allow you to go anytime all season, amazingly same price as a regular ticket. On Sunday we were able to see the Seasme Street show and play in the new splash park for a couple hours. We also got Bobby warmed up to the idea of taking a few pictures with the Seasme Street characters. Sea World is definitely a two day event! I'm hoping we can make it back this fall to enjoy some more time!
Watching "Belive", Killer Whales
On our way back to Dallas we decided to stop for lunch at one of our favorite places in Texas, the Gristmill in Gruene. We had great lunch sitting on the patio over looking the Guadalupe River. After lunch and a little browsing through the gift shops, we headed home for Dallas. We had such a fun weekend, but it's good to be back home.
We had a great long Easter weekend this year! I had Friday off and took Bobby out to the Arboretum for the Eddie Coker childrens concert. We had a picnic, danced, and had fun playing in the princess houses that the Arboretum has on display. Later that afternoon we colored eggs and then Robert and I had a date night while Bobby stayed at 'Ama's. On Saturday we took Bobby to his first baseball game. We went to see the Frisco Rough Riders play Corpus Christi. Unfourtantely, it started raining and lightining so we decided to leave after the 3rd inning. Bobby had a great time so we will be going again soon! Sunday we started off the day attending Easter service at Hope Fellowship with some friends and then had dinner at my brothers with most of the family and some of their friends. The kids had a big egg hunt and we ate LOTS of YUMMY food!
Dancing to the music!!
I can get it!!

This past weekend we visitied the Dallas Zoo with our friends Jenn, Nick and their now 1 year old son, Max. We had a fun morning walking around the zoo and then had lunch in the cafe in the new Giants of the Savannah area. Robert and I felt a little like tour guides; it had been a long time since Nick & Jenn had been to the Dallas Zoo and it was Max's first trip to a zoo. Bobby was so excited to go to the zoo and he was really interested in seeing the Lion's.
In case you didn't spot it in the pictures from last month...we got Bobby a Bounce House for his birthday! We figured this would be great to use for birthday parties and having fun in the back yard. We decided to break out the BH a little early so it wasn't too overwhelming with the party this weekend for Bobby. Let us know if you want to have a bounce house play date :)
Happy Valentines Day everyone! Hope you get to enjoy some time with your loved ones. We did our Valentines celebrations over this past weekend. On Saturday we took Bobby to Build-A-Bear for the first time. A few weeks ago he told me that Teddy needed shoes and a jacket so I thought he might be getting ready to do something like BAB. He had a lot of fun picking out an animal to fluff with love. He had a hard time settling on one, but he finally decided on the puppy dog. He stuffed him with love, gave his heart a kiss, and picked out a cute outfit for him and gave him a name (with a little help from mommy), Barkley. He really likes Barkley and had to carry him around Target, but when he saw Teddy again, Barkley was second string. We spent the rest of the day decorating cookies with the neighbors and baby-sitting our friends two little girls so they could have a night out.
On Sunday, Robert's mom and I went to the Cirque du Soleil show, Ovo, in Frisco. It was AWESOME!!!! There were so many "Wow!" and "Oh my!" moments and I loved every minute of it. If you ever get a chance to go, take it! We rounded out the weekend with Robert's mom "Ama" spending some time with her little Valentine so Robert and I could have a date night out. We love being able to spend some time together on Valentines, it's always a special time for us to have a date night. Thanks Ama!
Can't believe 9 days in to the New Year and we've already had a snow day! The snow was beautiful, falling in big fluffy flakes. In Little Elm we got about 3-4 inches...just enough to play in. We went out after the snow stopped falling and had a snowball fight and tried to build a snowman, but he fell apart. Bobby enjoyed sweeping the snow off the driveway the best, such the little helper.
Play Toys! This is the new phrase heard all over our house! Robert and I both had the week between Christmas and New Years off and we took Bobby out of daycare for the week. We enjoyed spending time together (when one or the other of us wasn't sick). Bobby loved to play with his new toys he received at Christmas. We were so happy to see him really playing with everything, I think some new big boy toys were really what he needed.
We also did a couple outings; shopping at the Galleria, Dallas Zoo, and the Northpark Trains (it's really neat!). Bobby loved going to the zoo and seeing the animals, he kept asking to see more and he even got a pony ride. We rang in the New Year with our friends the Laumer's on NYE and then black-eyed peas & cornbread at Mimi and Grand-dad's. Here's hoping for luck & some gold in 2011.
Bobby has really been growing up the past couple weeks. He's talking SO much more and is even "joking" with us. He thinks opposites are funny, like calling me a boy instead of a girl, he says "Mommy's a boy" and then will giggle, so we know he's just trying to be silly. He loves working puzzles and of course coloring! He'll be moving up to the next classroom at school next week. His teachers picked him and a couple others to move up because they've been doing so well. We're so proud of Bobby and everything he's accomplished this past year!
Wishing you a wonderful 2011!
My girlfriend Stephanie invited a bunch of us to Painting with a Twist a couple months back. It sounded like a fun idea; learn how to paint a picture, hang out with friends, and drink wine. What a brilliant idea! So Stephanie, Jenn, and myself signed up to paint "Santa's Helpers". We had such a fun time that we decided to do it again this past week for our friend D'Ann's birthday. This time we painted Moonlit Cherry Blossoms. It was a little harder of a painting, but we all had fun creating our master pieces! We hope to continue going to the classes every few months and a paint a new picture. I think we'll need to open a gallery soon! :)
I've been to both a class in Grapevine and Frisco. Both were really good. Grapevine was a little more instructional and structured (could just be the painting though) and Frisco was more artsy and laid back.

The past few weeks we've been busy getting ready for our Christmas party, having fun doing Christmas things, and then finally having our Sweet Treats Holiday party. Whew! Here's a run down of events you'll see in the pictures:
*Visited Fire Safety Town with our Neighbors the Franks: We had a fun time walking around the little town. Bobby enjoyed visiting each of the houses, having his face painted, climbing in the fire truck, sending a letter to Santa, and finally sitting in Santa's lap.
*Story Time with Santa at Watters Creek in Allen: This was a tough event to get many pictures at. It was very crowded and couldn't really here the story. But we enjoyed hot chocolate and snuggling up together.
*Dinner & S'mores with Mimi & Grand-dad: We invited mimi and grand-dad (my parents) over for dinner. Bobby loved having his grandparents over (but didn't want his picture taken)! After dinner we decided to make some s'mores!
*Bunco! Always a fun time!
*And finally our Sweet Treats Christmas Party: One of the things that I've always wanted to do was have a big Christmast party; moving into the new house this year finally allowed us the space to do this. We had over 60 people in our home! It was crowded, crazy, and noisy, but we hope everyone had a great time. Unfortunately we didn't get many pictures, I wish I would have stopped and taken the time to take some. Here's a picture of us before the party started.
We've had a busy few weeks around our house. A few weekends ago while the tree's had all the fall leaves (can't believe we had fall in Texas this year!) we took a few family photos for our Christmas cards. Bobby wasn't so sure about pictures, but we got a few cute one's of him. :)
We celebrated Thanksgiving with a big feast at my brother's with the family and some of their friends. Everything was so yummy! I tried to take more pictures of the festivites this year.
After Thanksgiving I always love to put up our Christmas tree. Bobby hung a few ornaments on the tree, but mostly liked to set them out for mommy & daddy to hang up. Bobby even got a tree in his room this year! We've been doing a lot of things around the house and figuring out how we want to decorate the new house for Christmas. More pictures to come...
Over this past weekend I went with the ladies in my family (most of them anyways) to see the Nutcracker at Winspear Opera House, performed by the Texas Ballet Theater Company. I'd seen this production before and it was just as great as the first time. The opera house is beautiful and worth seeing a show there.
Saturday evening I got a last minute call to join some of my fellow Vines Vikette alumni girls for lunch the following day. It was so great to catch up with them, one of the girls (Christy) I hadn't seen in over 12 years!

I know it's a little early, but over this past weekend we visited Stonebriar mall and helped welcome Santa to Frisco. They had face painting, balloon animals, David Chicken perfomed, and of course the arrival of Santa on a fire truck! I was a little nervous of how Bobby would do with visiting Santa this year. Last year he cried and almost refused to take a picture. This year he did AWESOME! He was very excited to see Santa and tell him what he wanted for Christmas and he also smiled BIG for the camera. Bobby asked Santa for a choo choo train and candy (so sweet!). Bobby had an great time watching Santa arrive to Frisco!
After the Santa excitement we relaxed at home and made s'mores on the patio with our friends the Johnson's. It was a great way to end the day!
Robert and I took our first trip (more than just 1 night) without Bobby this past weekend. We headed down to Fredericksburg with our good friends Jennie & Kevin for a relaxing weekend of food and wine (and maybe a little shopping). None of us had ever been to Fredericksburg so it was a perfect place to visit (I have a goal of seeing more of Texas over the next few years). We rented a little cottage one block off of Main Street and it was the perfect place to stay! We visited several vineyards, shopped on Main Street, and ventured out to Enchanted Rock State Park. (I've put links at the bottom of the post for the B&B and places we dined). We had such a fun time relaxing and hanging out with our friends, we can't wait till they're our neighbors!
So what did Bobby do? Grandma came to stay with Bobby for the weekend. They had a lot of fun together visiting Frank Buck Zoo and playing stickers (of course!).
Bed & Breakfast - Courtyard Cottage
Vineyards - Becker, Grape Creek (our favorite), Rancho Ponte, D'Vine Wines
Food - Silver Creek, Fredericksburg Brewery, Bejas Grill, River City Grill (Marble Falls)
Wine Bars - House. Wine., Lincoln Steet Wine Market
Last weekend we had a playdate at the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch with our friends the Larsens and Synrods. We met for lunch at Blue Goose (YUM!) and headed to the PP. Bobby had so much fun pulling the little boys in the wagon and helping hold them up and making them smile for pictures. It amazed both Robert and I how we have such a big boy now. It's so fun to see Bobby making friends and caring for the babies.
Max, Bobby, and Aiden
Bobby had a great time celebrating Halloween this year! He was so excited to finally get to wear his costume that his grandparents got him while we were in Colorado, Woody. Bobby loves watching Toy Story so it was a great costume for him! On Friday night we attended his daycare's Fall Carnival. It was fun meeting some of the parents of kids in his classroom and watching him play with his buddies. Each of the classrooms at school was set up with a different activity for the kids, bubbles, balloons, hair paint, etc., and he had a great time in each room!
Bobby and buddy Tyson with their green hair
Saturday we headed out to Watters Creek in Allen where we met Robert's mom and my parents. Bobby watched a little of the magic show, visited the petting zoo and was then ready for some trick-or-treating. After all the activity we headed over to my brother's to watch the Rangers win game 3 of the World Series. GO RANGERS!
Sunday evening we went trick-or-treating on our street with our neighbor's the Frank's little girls Bella & Lilly. Bobby had a great time trick-or-treating this year. He loved running up to the houses and telling everyone that he was "Woody". He came home with an overflowing bucket of candy!
We've been busy the past few weeks attending birthday parties and visiting local pumpkin patches. Bobby was invited to my friend Jenn Cole's little boy J.W.'s 2nd birthday party at The Village Express in Allen. All the kids had lots of fun playing in the little houses and dressing up as train engineers. We also attend my neice Emma's 5th birthday party. We had dinner at my brother's house on her actual birthday and then attended her party that Saturday at their home, the theme was "Little Chefs". Bobby had so much fun making his own pizza and decorating cupcakes to take home.
We've visted a couple pumpkin patches in the area recently as well. We ventured out to Celina to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm. Bobby had a lot of fun feeding the animals and going on the hay ride, but we were a little disappointed in the little amount of pumpkins that the farm had. Since we weren't able to pick out any pumpkins in Celina we visited the pumpkin patch down the road from us in Frisco. And of course I used it as another photo-op to take pictures of my cute little guy. :)
We also took Bobby to his first football game, UNT's Homecoming. Unfortunately the game wasn't that great, but Bobby had lots of fun dancing to the band and cleaning the bleachers.
I think this now needs to be Bobby's theme song. He's come a long way over the past week. He's now just about potty trained! He's on day number 4 of wearing big boy underwear and has only had 1 accident. We are SO PROUD of him!!
Bobby with his watch from Sonic, Silly Bands, and wearing
big boy underwear out for the first time.
Bobby also took his first trip to the dentist last week and it went really well. He let CC (the doctor at Child Smile) look in his mouth and clean his teeth, but we didn't do any x-rays.
Over the weekend we ventured to the Dallas Arboretum for the first weekend of the Great Pumpkin Festival. Our friends The Page's met us at the Arboretum where we enjoyed picnic lunches and taking lots of pictures. Unfortunately it was a really hot day so we only spent a couple of hours at the arboretum, but we had a good time despite the heat.
On Sunday, after picking up the house and running some errands, we went for a swim at my brother's. It was a great way to end the weekend, especially since there's not many pool days left this year!
In other news...Bobby is making great progress on his potty training! He's been wearing big boy underpants while we're at home and coming and getting us when he has to go potty. Just check out his potty chart for all the stickers he's earned! Yea Bobby!!
We just got back from making our annual trip to Colorado to visit with Robert's family. We loved visiting over Labor Day last year so we decided to visit at the same time of year again. The weather is so beautiful!
Last year we made a day trip to Breckenridge with Robert's dad and step-mom, we loved it so much we decided to spend 2 days in Breck as a little mini-trip before visiting with Robert's dad in Denver. We left EARLY on Thursday morning, rented a van (which Robert LOVED) and set out on our way to the mountains. We had a lot of fun discovering Breck and the and it's surroundings. We shopped, rode the gondla, took a ride on the Super Slide at Peak 8, visited the Country Boy Gold Mine, ate a lot, and enjoyed the scenery! We even took a rode trip to Vail (it's only about 30 miles from Breck) to have dinner. Bobby had such a great time that he didn't nap the whole trip (unless we were in the car :> ).
On Saturday we left the mountains and headed towards Robert's dad's in Thornton, CO. They just moved into a new house and are all settled in and making great friends in the neighborhood. On Sunday we visited the Denver zoo with Robert's step-brother's wife Lisa and their kids Lauren, Aiden and Ashton. We had a fun morning with them getting to know them better. After the zoo we headed back to Bob & Jan's for a BBQ with the rest of the family and their neighbors. Everyone had a great time eating lots of food and watching the kids play. Bobby loved playing with his cousin Lauren and she was such a tropper hanging out with him all day at the zoo and all evening long!
On Monday we headed to Taste of Colorado in downtown Denver. It was very crowded, but we had a good time checking out the local vendors. The remainder of the time was spent at Bob and Jan's house hanging out together and visiting before we headed home on Tuesday (rather Robert headed home while I flew to Kansas City to meet with my client for work).
It was a great trip to Colorado and can't wait to do it again soon!
Towards the end of August was a busy time for the us! Robert and I both were busy at work and home. I was in my soroity sister Evett's wedding the weekend before Labor Day. The wedding was beautiful and lots of fun! We're so excited that Evett & Aaron are now married. You can see all the pictures here.
While Robert and I were attending wedding functions, family helped out watching Bobby. He spent one weekend with Mimi & Grand-dad and the next with his Uncle Dave, Aunt Bev and cosins Emma & Andrew. He had a great time swimming and visiting the zoo with his cousins!
Yesterday I had my A-Phi sisters over with all of our little guys and a couple "aunties". This was the first time that we got all the boys together. The boys played really well together. Max really wanted to get in on the action and Aiden will be running with the "big boys" soon! I hope we start to make this a regular occurence and my friends little boys and Bobby will become good friends!
Bobby had lots of fun during the week playing on his new playset and in the sandbox. We finally broke out all the sand toys that Jenn & Brooke gave Bobby for his birthday and you can't pull him away from them!
Over the weekend we (mostly Robert) put together Bobby's new playset. This is his late birthday gift from us and his grandparents helped chip in to. All in all it took about 7 hours to put together, we took a break in the middle to cool off at the pool and get some dinner. Bobby loves the new playset and was even playing on it before we were done. I'm so glad to have something right in our backyard that he can have fun playing on instead of having to drive to the park.
We also got a new kitchen table over the weekend and moved our current table into the dinning room. Things are taking shape at the new house! We also had our neighbors (Nesa, Greg, Bella(5), Lilly(17mo) ) over for dinner on Saturday. It was fun getting to know them better and making some new friends.
Bobby is moving rooms at school today! The school called this morning and said Bobby went to the next room to play and didn't want to go back to his room. So we decided to go ahead and move him up to the next room (was going to happen later this month). We're very excited because this means potty training will be reinforced at school as they take the kids to the potty on a schedule. Everyday I marvel at how much of a big boy he's becoming and how quickly time is flying by with him.
Wow, can't believe July has flown by. We've been steadily working on things at our new house which has kept us busy over most of the weekends (I've updated the "Our Home" page). July has been so hot we haven't been outside playing much. We have taken Bobby to feed the ducks at the pond in our neighborhood, gone for snowcones at the Frisco Snowcone Lady, and played with lots of bubbles.
A couple weekends ago we had our friends the "other" Anderson's over (Jared, Heather, Parker & Avery). The kids entertained us with singing and dancing and we all had a fun time. Check out the band's video!
Bobby has been doing great this month in his big boy toddler bed. No more getting out and sleeping in front of the door! And he loves that his room is now blue! We've slowly been working on potty training, but haven't made much progress. We put up a poster over the weekend that he can put stickers on if he goes potty, hopefully this will give him a little motivation. He also had a big booboo on his groin this weekend. He basically flipped over the chair and hit himself on the bookshelf, ow! He wanted an ice pack and you could tell it really hurt him because he kept the ice pack in that one spot. Luckily all is OK and hopefully no more accidents for the week. :)
The Anderson Family had a blast over the long 4th of July weekend. We started off Friday by getting Bobby's haircut. I know it's a minor thing, but I was so proud of him because it took an hour (long wait) and he didn't get fussy once! Then we tried out a new restaurant, Manny's Icehouse Grill in Frisco. We really liked it and will be visiting again soon.
On Saturday (3rd) we headed over to the Womack's (my brother & sister-in-law) for the 4th of July party they've been talking about since deciding to put in the pool last year. Unfourtantely, the weather wasn't so great. It was a little chilly & rainy. But the pool was able to be heated up and we all enjoyed a fun time of swiming and volleyball. Once it started raining we moved inside where we had lots of food to munch on after swimming. Then my sister-in-law told Robert and I to leave Bobby there sleeping and go to a movie, so we did! It was nice to hang out with my hubby for a bit (thank you Bev!)!
Sunday (4th) we headed over to our friends the Laumer's house for a 4th of July BBQ. We blew up the kiddie pool for the kids, lit the charcoal and kicked back. The kids had a great time splashing around and then we all chowed down again. We were able to walk out the Laumer's front door to watch the fireworks, so great not to deal with the traffic!
Monday (5th) we had the day off and went swimming again at the Womack's. Bobby really enjoyed the pool on Monday and even did a little "swimming" and played in the sand box. This was my perfect idea of a long weekend with my family. Can I have another again soon?!
Thought I would give an update, it's been a couple weeks. We've been settling into the new house and giving lots of tours (thanks to everyone who has stopped by!) which has kept us quite busy on the weekends. We've been slowly painting rooms, planting flowers, and getting things organized while still trying to run our usual errands and spend some time together.
Bobby loves to show off his new room, or rooms considering he thinks the gameroom is his too(sound familiar mom & dad?). We've had some difficulties with keeping him in bed since we converted his crib to a toddler bed. I think he enjoys his new freedom, but we keep finding him asleep in front of his door. We've adjusted his bedtime to a little later the past couple nights and he's been staying in bed, hopefully that was the trick. We're looking forward to the long holiday weekend coming up and spending time with our family and friends!
We are all moved in to our new house and have our family all back in one place (our cat Cooper was at Grandma Anderson's). We love the new house and having space to play, cook and just get ready in the morning without stepping on each others toes. Most of our boxes are unpacked, but we still have a lot to go through, painting, and other things that we want to do around the house.
Bobby is doing great in the new house. He now has a big boy (toddler) bed and likes climbing up and down the stairs on his own (saving mommy & daddy's backs). He loves his new playroom and wants to go in there all the time, who could blame him! It was like Christmas when we got all of his toys out! He has especially enjoyed having Cooper back home and chases him around the house and gives him lots of treats. We're looking forward to meeting our neighbor's (have met a few already) and their kids, Bobby has lots of new playmates on our street.
Come visit us soon!
We're moving into the new house this weekend! We had a walk-through yesterday afternoon and house looks good except for some cosmetic things. I'm pretty sure 95% of the things on our list will be taken care of by closing tomorrow morning. I think there will be a couple things they will have to come back to fix, some cabinet repairs. Robert has the flu so wish him a speedy recovery so we can get moved and settled into the new house.
Last weekend we visted the Dallas Zoo with our friends the Laumer's. As members of the zoo we were able to go to a special preview of the Giants of the Savannah exhibit. It's really nice and looks like a great home for the animals that will be in that section. You can even feed the giraffe's! It was a great day, but it's going to be getting hot to visit the zoo soon!
Over the weekend we headed out to Grandbury and Glenrose for a "mini-vacation". Just needed a night away. We visited Grandbury on Saturday and walked around the shops (I found a cute "antique" cream & sugar set!) and went on a little tour of the city which kind of happened by accident when we jumped on the trolly thinking it went straight to the downtown area, but we got to see some historic homes and a little of the town.
On Sunday we headed to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Zoo. It was really cool. Neither Robert or I had ever been and it was great to see Bobby's reactions to feeding the animals. It is a beautiful nature reserve and it was so neat to have the animals just walk up to the car. However, I think I have some scratches from the zebra trying to eat my door handle! We were also able to open the sun room and the girafe would stick his head down for us to feed him. Bobby kept throwing food out of the car and saying "eat!" and he loved to help daddy "drive". It was totally worth it to go and hope we can do it again soon. On our way out of town we stoped at The Ranch House BBQ, it was yummy! We took a ton of pictures! I've posted some of them above in the slideshow and you can find some more here.
On our way back to Frisco we stopped off at Dave & Bev's pool party. Pool is officially open! We had lots of fun. Bobby is a little skiddish of the water again this year, but we'll get him warmed up to it soon!
House Update: Only 10 days away! Tile is down, granite is put in kitchen (even though part of the granite & cabinets has to be re-done), walls are painted, and light fixtures are in.
My boys always make Mother's Day a special day, make that weekend, for me. On Friday when I arrived home from work Bobby came running out of the house to give me a flower (c/o daycare). It's the first flower he has handed to me and just the picture of him holding the flower out for me just warms my heart. On Saturday I went to Mother's Day Tea with all the women in my family (mom, nana, Bev, Cindi, Pam, and Emma) at Patty's Place in Plano. If you have never been for their tea time it is really worth it. All the tea and food is scrumptious! This is the 2nd year we have gone and it's becoming our little tradition I think.
Sunday morning I finally got to find out what Robert and Bobby's "Super Secret Event" was. He and Bobby went to Color Me Mine to make me a mug. It's very cute and it's my first mother's day craft Bobby has given me. We also went to brunch at Bread Winners with Robert's mom and visited the new house. There have been lots of updates to the house. Brick is done, cabinets are in, shelving in the closets done, and wall texture done. It's really coming together. There are a few things that the builder needs to change/fix, but I think they'll be able to finish up on time!
I added some pictures from our activites over the weekend. I finally made it out on Thursday with Bobby to a patch of Bluebonnets close to my parents house. He wasn't really in the mood for pictures that day, but sometimes grumpy faces can be cute too! Over the weekend we headed out to Jacksboro for a BBQ at our friends the McCurry's. We had lots of fun and Bobby made a new pal, Mason, aka "Mace".
The new house is now drywalled! Hopefully brick will arrive this week. It was great to see the house coming together. See the walls up made it feel real that we'll have a new home soon!
Over the weekend we spent some time hanging out as a family. We broke out some new toys and played at the park. Bobby really enjoyed playing with his new bubble mower, after a little help from Daddy to get it working. On Sunday we visited the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano hoping to find some bluebonnets. Unfourtnately we didn't find any, but we saw some other great views! The preserve is beautiful with lots of walking trails, a pond, picnic tables, and a great park.
Our new house has now been insulated and they are hopefully putting up the dry wall this week. According to our builder, we are still on schedule to be in at the end of May.
Bobby's personality has really been shining this week. He's talking much more and making lots of silly faces! I've also added a new video of Bobby's favorite new activity at Target. :)
We are now all moved out of our house on Brookstone. We were able to meet one of the buyers last Wednesday and were very glad to see that it will be a nice couple who are really excited to be buying their first house. It makes me feel good to know my old house will be (hopefully) in good hands by owners that appreciate having a house. We packed everything up and thanks to some friends and family were able to get everything out, put in storage, and the house cleaned in 2 days.
We are now at my parents and are all settled in. Bobby is loving seeing his Mimi & Grand-dad everyday. He asks for Mimi as soon as he wakes up! Bobby is now sleeping on a big boy bed with rails on the side. He looks so comfy and it's nice to be able to cuddle up next to him. He's been sleeping great and has been in a pretty good mood (which is a change from before the move).
Our new house should be ready at the end of May, hopefully in time to move over Memorial Day weekend!
Bobby is 2! Can't believe my baby is now 2 years old! Bobby turned 2 on April 10th and we had a Construction Birthday party at Frisco Commons Park. With being in the middle of packing our house we figured it would be easier to have the party away from home. Bobby invited lots of friends to join in his celebration. There were lots of activities for the kids: sidewalk chalk, coloring and stickers, bubbles, and a wrecking zone and of course the park itself. I think all the kids and parents had fun! Bobby received lots of great new toys too! Bobby especially loved the sand toys from Mommy's friends Brooke & Jenn, once he opened the rake and shovel he was done!
Bobby also had his 2 year check-up. He's 28 1/2 pounds, 34.5 inches, a growing boy. He grew 2 inches since October! Bobby has been loving his Daddy lately, wanting to spend lots of time with him! Bobby's favorite color is "blu". He always wants a blue cup and calls everything blue. He loves to see school buses and big trucks on the road!
Along with all the packing we did over the weekend, we had lots of fun playing together as a family over the long Easter weekend. Friday Bobby's school had an Easter Egg Hunt. We joined in for the festivities and helped Bobby hunt for some eggs. He had lots of fun playing with all of his friends and even shared some of the eggs he had picked up.
On Saturday we took a break from packing and headed to the Dallas Arboretum for some much needed sun and play time. We had a great time looking at all the flowers and having a picnic snack. Bobby LOVED eating all the grapes. He was so concerned about the snacks that even when we scooted over to take a family picture he had to bring all the snacks with him (they're hidden behind us in the pictures). Bobby wanted to touch all the flowers, instead I tried to show him how to smell the flowers so everyone can enjoy them. It was a great day to start spring!
On Easter Sunday Bobby woke up to find the basket that the Easter Bunny left for him. He had some sweet treats, a couple books, and a race car. But Bobby liked playing with the "grass" best! That afternoon we headed over to the Womack's for the annual Easter Egg Hunt and pot luck dinner. All the kids had a great time and Bobby was a very tired boy by the time we left.
Hope everyone had a blessed holiday and enjoyed the spring weather!
As mentioned previously, it's been a busy month. We've been home shopping and looked at over 30 houses! We finally settled on building out a spec home with Landon Homes in Little Elm. We'll be in the Lakeview at Sunset Point community. The house won’t be ready till end of May, so we will be moving in with my parents for a few weeks (aka Mimi & Grand-dad). We’re really excited and looking forward to having room to grow our family!
Over the weekend Bobby went to his friend Madison’s second birthday party at Petland. He had a lot of fun and so did we. Bobby was able to pet & hold several different animals and only was scared of the puppies, go figure! On Saturday we watched our friends the Laumer’s two girls, Maddie & Megan. It was a beautiful day and all the kids had fun playing outside in the sun (and helping me water the plants too!). We also visited our friends The Larsen’s and their new baby boy Max Patrick (3/9/10, 6lb 9oz 18.5" long). He is a sweet BEAUTIFUL boy and everyone is doing great! Bobby liked touching Max's toes and belly.
In other news, Robert turned the big 3-0 on Monday! We celebrated his birthday with a night out in staying at the Magnolia hotel. Happy birthday to a great husband and wonderful father!
I can't belive it's been so long since I've updated! It's been a busy month!
We have decided that in order for our family to expand we needed to expand our home. So we put our house up for sale and accepted an offer in 9 days. So quick! We have been doing a lot of house hunting and not as much playing time, so no pictures to really add right now. Hopefully we'll find a new home soon and have lots of pictures to share!
Can't believe it's snowing in Dallas, again! Although I did have to work today and it wasn't an official snow day, my co-workers & I decided we had to get out in the snow to play. We built a snowman and he turned out pretty cute! Other co-workers in the office posed for pictures with him and even dressed him up with Pizza Hut paraphernalia.
The Builders: Heather, Jennifer, & Stacy
Bobby finally said "mama"! No more calling me "Dadeee"! Last Thursday was such a great night when Bobby finally called me mama.
Over the weekend I decided I wanted to take some pictures of Bobby for Valentines day. He won't pose for me like he used to, but I think we still took some cute shots of Bobby in action.
On Superbowl Sunday we headed over to my brother's house to watch the big game and pig out on the taco & nacho bar that Bev set up. It was so yummy! It was a good game and Bobby had lots of fun playing with his cousins. I think he's ready for Marti Gras now!
Time is flying by, I can’t believe January has come and gone. I’ve uploaded some recent photos of Bobby from the end of the month. He is growing up so much! He is saying more words everyday, some of the favorites are block, truck, blue (for blueberries), juice, and of course Dadeee (which he calls both of us). He is moving up to the toddler side of his school this week. It’s really hit me that he’s not a baby anymore! He’s even starting to use the potty and loves building block towers.
I’ve also uploaded some pictures from Jenn’s baby shower; they are on the photo archives page. Bobby can’t wait for his new friend Max to arrive in March!
January has flown by! I can’t believe we’re already a month into 2010! I’ve added some pictures of Bobby from the past month. We’ve been hanging around and haven’t been up to much the past few weeks. We were so glad last weekend was nice and we were able to get Bobby to the park to try out his new tricycle and throw the frisbee with Dexter. Bobby loved being pushed around on his new wheels; however he’s not quite tall enough to reach the pedals yet.
It’s been a busy month of working for both Robert and In my free time I’ve been experimenting with my new scrapbooking software that Robert bought me for Christmas. So far I love it and I hope to have some pages to share soon. If you’re interested in digital scrapbooking I highly suggest checking out My Memories Suite.
We have been getting ready for Christmas at the house. Bobby is working on saying “Santa” and “Ho Ho Ho,” he only gets about two of them out, but it’s still cute. Bobby enjoys turning on the Christmas tree, looking at the ornaments, and laying under the tree to see the lights. This past weekend I came home to him having opened one of his presents! I told him we have to wait until Christmas to play with that and but it back. As expected, he got really upset with me.
Over the weekend we were busy with lots of activities. We went to and looked at the lights, went on a carriage ride and saw the train display. Bobby loved the carriage ride and the horses. He was able to stand up the whole time and look out over the horses, he had such a great time! On Sunday we baked lots of cookies, Bobby enjoyed watching and even tried to use the cookie cutters a couple of times. We also enjoyed celebrating the season at our friends The Sharps Coco & Cookies party. Bobby got to play with his “girlfriend” Madison. They weren’t so sure of each other this time, but we got a great picture of Bobby giving a great big hug.
We wish your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I can’t believe November has come and gone and we’re already into December. Thanksgiving flew by and Christmas is only 21 days away! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebrating with Grandma Donna on Wednesday and then with my family on Thursday. Bobby enjoyed playing with his cousins and the Piltz girls Ashley & Emily.
Bobby is a growing little boy. He’s getting stronger and his personality is shinning more and more each day. We took him to see Santa Claus a couple weeks ago, and not surprisingly, he cried. He didn’t care too much for Santa this year. We were able to get one shot off without him crying. Maybe next year he’ll give Santa a little more love. Bobby loves to “help” with dinner. He gets out his stool and stands at the counter and bangs with all my kitchen utensils.
We wish everyone a wonderful Christmas!
I can’t believe October has come and gone! We’ve had such a fun month with Bobby. We visited pumpkin patches, the Dallas Arboretum, and lots of Trick-or-Treating.
We made good use of Bobby’s Halloween costume this year! Robert took Bobby to the Fall Carnival at his school a couple of weeks ago. They had a great time playing games, swinging, and riding the train. And Bobby drank from a glass for the first time, such a big boy! We also went to the Sharp’s Halloween party, Bobby & had a great time trying to hit the piñata and playing “Ring around the Rosie”. It took Bobby & Madison a while to warm up to each other, but as you can see in the pictures, they were good friends again by the end of the evening.
Bobby did lots of Trick-or-Treating over Halloween weekend. Friday started off with kids trick-or-treating at my office. We also set up a Kid’s Corner where the kids played games, colored, and ate sweets. Friday night we met up with my brother’s family and my parents for the fall carnival at their church. All the kids had fun playing the games and riding the rides. Emma & Andrew especially enjoyed going down the BIG slide with Robert & Dave. On Saturday we took Bobby to Willow Bend mall for trick-or-treating at the stores and then the “Mad Scientist” show afterwards. We really enjoyed doing this with Bobby; it was a safe, fun, atmosphere and will probably continue to do this in the future. After the show Bobby and Andrew went running threw the mall holding hands. They have become such good buddies! Once we got home Bobby was ready to take off his costume. I don’t blame him, poor kid had been wearing it for almost 2 days! However, after he saw the kids coming to the door in their costumes he wanted his back on. Bobby enjoyed “helping” mommy and daddy hand out candy to all the trick-or-treators and eating his own candy. He loves suckers and smarties!
This year we tagged along with my brother’s family for their annual trip. We rented a condo on the beach with David & Bev and their 2 kids and my parents. We stayed in the Perdido Key area, which is in . The condo was wonderful and it had a beautiful view of the beach and gulf. We had a blast hanging out with the family, cooking dinners (or eating at the Shrimp Basket), playing games, napping, reading, and letting the kids play.
We had surprisingly great weather (it was predicted to rain everyday). We were able to get out on the beach at least once each day, the one day it rained all morning/afternoon we headed to the . This museum had great exhibits and lots of planes that you could sit in, and another great feature is that the museum is free. I recommend going if you’re ever in that area. After several of the rain storms we were able to spot rainbows, I’ve never seen so many rainbows in one week!
Bobby did great on the trip. He loved playing in the sand with his bucket and shovel and “borrowing” some of Emma & Andrew’s toys. He enjoyed it when Robert and I would take him out into the water and the waves would splash him. We also spent time at the pool and started teaching Bobby how to “jump” into the water. He is becoming such an independent little boy, especially after watching Emma & Andrew all week.
It was a wonderful trip that of course ended too soon. We hope to be able to go again soon! I would love to spend our family vacation on the beach each year!
Over Labor Day weekend we visited Robert’s Dad and Stepmom in Denver. We had lots of fun visiting with family, playing games, and seeing the area. Bobby loved to play with Grandpa and Grammy and show them all his tricks (like picking up his toys). On Friday Nikole brought over her new puppy "Rocka". She was so sweet and gentle and gave Bobby lots of puppy kisses. On Saturday night Bob & Jan had the whole family over for our annual BBQ (which we actually got to have outside!). Everyone had fun eating, tossing the football, and playing poker. Bobby enjoyed playing with his cousins Lauren, Aiden, and Ashton (even if the boys didn’t want to play with him at first). On Sunday we took a trip to Breckenridge (no flat tires this time) and enjoyed walking through the shops and looking at the scenery. The weather was beautiful and there were lots of patrons out with their dogs, Bobby would squeal and shout “dog” every time one would pass us by. On Monday we headed to the state capitol building and took a picture on the steps above the “one mile above sea level” marker, which has been moved several times. Monday was also “Taste of Colorado” and the city was having a big street fair in front of the capitol. It was a wonderful trip and hope to see the family again soon!
The Anderson family hasn't been up to much these days. Robert and I have both been busy at work so we're just trying to take some down time on the weekends. Robert starts his new position at AT&T today as a Senior Marketing Manager in Direct Marketing. He's very excited to continue growing his career at AT&T and looking forward to new job duties. Bobby starts his transition to his new classroom today and has "Splash Day" for the first time. Instead of going to the splash park, the past couple weeks we set up a splash park in our own backyard. However, Bobby was more intersted in playing in his car. So Robert and I enjoyed laying in the cool water while Bobby ran around the yard.
We are on countdown to our trips to Colorado and Florida. Septemeber is going to be a fun and crazy month!
I've uploaded new pictures into the slideshow. Enjoy!
This past week Bobby turned 15 months and he has been growing very fast! He had his 15 month check-up on Friday and the doctor said he looked great! Weight: 25lb, 6oz (63% percentile), Height: 31in (46% percentile).
This weekend was also mine and Robert’s 6th wedding anniversary. The time has flown by! I’m so lucky to have him as my husband and I couldn’t ask for a better father. To celebrate on Sunday we took Bobby to the Dallas Zoo. We got there early to beat the heat and the crowds. Bobby liked watching all the animals and had a great time riding in the wagon, he wanted to ride more than walk which I was very surprised by. Bobby especially loved the reptile area. I think it was because the animals moved around a bunch and he could get closer to them and see better. This is what I’m hoping anyways because I’m not going to have any reptiles in my house!
We had such a great time celebrating the 4th of July I had to do another entry about the day. We started off in the morning taking Bobby to the play center at Willow Bend, it was such a hot day outside we needed to do something inside for a while. He loved climbing on everything and watching all the other kids. (I posted a video of him playing in the videos section.)
After naptime we headed over to Dave & Bev’s for a BBQ and to play. They had set up the giant slide and all the kids had a great time playing (even Bobby enjoyed it this time). Bobby loved playing with his cousins and had lots of hugs and kisses for them! There was lots of yummy food and everyone chowed down after all the playing, we couldn’t get Bobby to stop eating! After the sun went down, we headed back out doors and we played with sparklers. The kids were a little nervous at first, but ended up loving them! Once we had all the sparkler fun we could handle we woke Bobby up and headed out to watch the Frisco Fireworks. We had a long wait for the show to get started, but all the kids loved the dessert picnic while waiting. Bobby loved the fireworks once they started and didn’t get scared at all. That’s my boy!
It was such a fun day and we look forward to the real pool party next year.
Bobby has been growing and exploring these past few weeks so I thought I'd give an update. Last week I went through his closet and put a lot of his clothes in storage bins because he's been growing so fast. Both in length and width (love that baby belly!).
Bobby now has a total of 9 teeth and a couple more that are soon to come in. He like’s to think he’s a big boy and wants a whole half of a sandwich at one time, instead of us cutting it into bite size pieces, so we have been working with him on how to tear his food with his front teeth. We’re also working with him on using a spoon and a fork. He loves to dip his spoon in his yogurt himself!
He is now giving kisses, which I just love! Last week he was blowing kisses (just making the smack noise) and now he actually leans in to give a kiss. I’ve been waiting for this one! He loves the song Head, Shoulders, Knees, and toes and last week started grabbing his head and toes (still working on the other body parts). This weekend we went to dinner with Grandma Anderson and she and Bobby colored on the placemats. This is the first time he actually colored with the crayons instead of eating them. I'm very excited to have some artwork to hang on the fridge soon!
Bobby has said 5 words now: Mama, Dada, Done, Duck, and Cat (or as far as we can tell this is what he’s said). He likes to say “done” when he’s done eating, bathing, or just about done with anything. As he says "done" he puts his arms out to the side, it's a whole show. He said “duck” the other night in the bath when he was playing with one of his ducks. And just this morning he said “cat” when he saw Cooper. After he said it he started chasing Cooper around the house to try and hug him, laughing the whole time. Bobby loves to be chased and to chase after anything. He thinks it’s the greatest!!
That’s about all the updates for now. His personality is really shinning these days! Here’s some pictures from playing in the backyard this weekend.
Over this past weekend our family took a road trip to Possum Kingdom Lake with our friends Matt & Christine and their daughter Madison. It was a much needed and restful getaway! The weather was beautiful and we were able to spend most of our time outdoors. The cabins we rented at Bailey’s Crystal Bay were very nice and clean, I was extremely impressed! We each took a half day on Friday and headed out to the lake in the afternoon, arriving just in time to fire up the grill for dinner. The kids had a great time playing on the porch and running around, while Christine and I chased after them trying to make sure they didn’t hurt themselves. Bobby was all over the place and enjoyed climbing up and down the stairs in front of the cabins.
We took Matt & Christine’s boat out most of the day on Saturday, docking at a restaurant for lunch where we had onion rings and sandwiches. We then headed back out and dropped anchor in the “Hell’s Gate” area to float/swim around. We put Bobby in the water, but he did not like it very much, I think it was still a little cold for him. After soaking up the sun we decided to tube for a bit. First were the girls and I have to say we did pretty good (I only fell off 3 times, but it was my first time ever trying!). Then Christine took over the driving and the boys got on the tube. We tried so hard to throw them off, but they were too strong for us. That evening we fired up the grill again and made S’mores. I gave Bobby a taste and he LOVED them. He was very upset when I wouldn’t give him more.
On Sunday we took the boat out again and dropped anchor in “The Cliffs” area. The houses in this area were beautiful! It was an overcast day so we packed lunches and ate on the boat. We headed back to shore early so we could get started back home.
On the way home we stopped by Brooke and Wes’s new house outside of Jacksboro to say hello. Their new place will be great once they get all settled in. Right now they have 2 horses on their land and we took Bobby outside to see them. He wasn’t so sure about them at first but warmed up once “Aunt Brooke” took him over to see them.
It's been a while since I've updated! I've been busy getting adjusted to my new schedule with me going back to work, which is going very well.
Bobby had his 1 year check-up last week. He is 23lb 2oz (51%) and 29.5 inches long (34%). He's a growing boy! The check-up went very well. Bobby enjoyed playing in the office and then the Dr. Kaplan came in and he wasn't so happy anymore. Poor Dr. Kaplan said "Ohh, it's that time already." But by the end of the appointment Dr. Kaplan had him smiling! Then the nurses came in with the shots. He didn't like that at all! Bobby is trying to cut several teeth and we're praying that they come in soon!
We didn't do too much over the weekend, so no picture updates. We had breakfast with Grammy & Granddad on Saturday, and then Grandma came over to watch Bobby so Robert and I could have a date night! On Sunday, Robert got some bonding time with Bobby while I went to a wedding shower. I think we're going to try to head to Ennis this weekend to see the Bluebonnets!
My little boy is growing up! Bobby is now well into the second week in his new classroom at school and things are going GREAT! He has been such a happy boy when he gets home and loves to play. I love that he is now reaching out for me and gives me a "hug". I can just tell that he loves both Robert and I. It's such a wonderful special feeling! Bobby is now eating 3 meals a day. He loves his food and gobbles down everything that we give him. He's having lots of fun with the teething biscuits too...although they are a mess to clean up. I have learned this is a high chair only snack!
Bobby is also starting to pull up now! Time to start baby proofing!! We lowered his crib down this week (maybe a little over board for now, but better safe than sorry) and are trying to get him to stand holding on to things. He LOVES to walk while holding your hands. He's going to be one active little boy!
What a wonderful weekend I had with my boys! But first I have to start of by saying Bobby crawled forward on Thursday at school! He hasn't done it since, but it's a start. I'm excited but sad at the same time, my little boy is growing up!
Friday night I took Bobby and met some of my family for dinner. I was so impressed on how well Bobby did! It was a late night for him. Then we woke up early Saturday morning to take the Womack Family pics. We needed some new ones, last time we had it done was almost 7 years ago. We've had lots of new additions to the family since then!
After the pics we went to the Dallas Zoo with the Womack's (Dave, Bev, Emma, & Andrew) and the Jorgensen's (Cindi & Kevin). We had a blast seeing all the animals and hanging out with the family. Needless to say, we were pooped at the end of the day! Bobby was such a good boy all day and loved being carried around all day by Mommy & Daddy and enjoyed seeing all the animals. I loved describing all the animals to him. I know he won't remember the day, but it will be one that I cherish for a long time.
I'll post pictures soon (we took over 600 just at the zoo!)
I can't believe how time is flying by! Bobby turned 5 months last weeks (as I turned 29!). He is weighing in at 17.4 lbs and 27 in. long. He's a big boy! Robert and I just love to look at his sweet face and sneak in at night to watch him sleeping.
Bobby is hitting all sorts of "milestones" lately. He has really started to enjoy eating and has tried a lot of foods. He seems to like it all so far, even prunes! I love trying out new foods with him and watching his face as he discovers new tastes and textures. Bobby is rolling around all over the floor to get to the places he wants to go now. He's even starting to "creep" backwards and I think he'll start crawling forward in the next couple of weeks. We've been taking lots of video so I hope to get that edited and posted soon!
This weekend we have the Womack Family pictures and a trip to the zoo. I'm sure we'll have lots of fun stuff to post after we return.
The Anderson's
Robert and Jennifer met in 1996 working at Target in Plano, TX. We then went on to college together at UNT and were married July 12, 2003. Shortly after we adopted our cat Cooper. The following year we built our first home in Little Elm. And what's a home without a dog, we welomed our Golden Retriver Dexter into the family in August 04. In April 2008 we had our first child, Robert "Bobby" Thomas and are expecting a new addition to our family in January 2012. "We are so blessed with our family and friends!"
I recently changed jobs and I'm working at Agency 720 as an Account Manager on Chevy Dealer business. In my "free" time I love playing with my family and friends. I also enjoy shopping, photography, scrap-booking, reading, and exercising.
Robert is the Senior Marketing Manager in the Direct Marketing organization at AT&T. Robert enjoys any project where he gets to use his POWER tools, and is always ready to help his friends with a project around the house. Wood floors, ceiling fans, surround sound... you name it, Robert enjoys installing it. Robert is a self-proclamed GEEK, and no that is not a bad word :)
What a cutie!!!! I'm so happy he had his first laugh! I can't wait to hear it in person! Jenny, that is the best picture of you and Bobby, it's like a pic from a magazine!! Give Bobby a big hug and kiss from Aunt Jenn!! I love you!
