Winter Break

I'm very fortunate that I am again working for a company that gives me the week between Christmas and New Years off and Robert is able to take vacation during that time as well. We took Bobby out of school and were able to spend lots of time together over the past week! We had playdates with friends, shopping, visited the North Park Trains display and of course lots of play time. We were also able to get a big project accomplished in Connor's room. I think we are officially ready for his arrival!

I was also able to take some time to meet up for brunch with some of my old high school friends that I was on drill team with as well as drive out to visit Brooke and her girls. Lots of fun! Jillian is making progress, prayers she keeps eating well and does not need another surgery to have a G port put in for feeding!

NYE!

This year we spent New Year's Eve at our friends the Laumer's. It's been tradition the past 5 years or so to spend the night together and this year we had quite the crowd! We had fun hanging out, playing games and eating chili & queso.

On New Year's day we dined at my parents on black-eyed peas and corn bread, hoping to bring us some luck & prosperity in 2012.

Christmas!

We had a great Christmas this year (or I guess last year if you want to be technical about it since it's after the first). As usual, we spent Christmas Eve with Robert's mom by attending the Christmas Eve service at the church we've been attending, having dinner, looking at some lights and then opening presents. Bobby was able to open one of his presents from 'Ama a little early in the day because we wanted to give him some time to play with it - he got a Jeep! It's too cute and he loves driving it up and down the street. We had a great time opening presents with him and taking some pictures.

On Christmas Day we headed over to my parents where my side of the family gathers for Christmas. We opened presents with the kids, had a great dinner, and then did a Christmas Exchange with the adults. It was fun, and as per last year there were a couple hot items that traded around. The kids had a great time playing together and the older "kids" played games into the night.

December Happenings

We have had a busy couple of weeks at the Anderson house. Between working and preparing for baby Connor we've been getting into the Christmas spirit as well. Here's some things we've been up to:

-Indoor Soccer: Bobby started playing indoor soccer with his fall team. We have all really been liking indoor, especially because there's no out-of-bounds. The kids have been having lots of fun and hopefully we'll be able to get in a few more practices and win some games!
-We  went on a carriage ride and saw the lighting of the Frisco Christmas Tree at Frisco Square

-Christmas Party: We hosted our 2nd annual Sweet Treats Christmas Party this past weekend. We were joined by family, neighbors, old friends and new friends. We played several "Minute to Win It" games and stuffed ourselves with lots of sugar and sweets.

-Sea Life Aquarium: We visited the new Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine with our friends the Larsen's and Synrod's. It had been a while since we've had our boys together so it was a fun time. The aquarium was very nicely done, lots of tanks and fun area's for the kids to see the sea life. There were several areas where you can walk on glass and see through the tank, Bobby was not so sure about these!

-Bobby Update: Bobby has really been shining lately, his personality has been cracking us up! He is really into Super Hero's and building with legos, as well of course being Daddy's boy. He loves pretending now and makes his little action figures talk. Robert and I feel like we've been waiting awhile for this to start happening and it makes us so proud that he's really taking off with his imagination.

He loves to shave like Daddy

Playing teacher to his animals

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

We are getting into the swing of the Christmas spirit at the Anderson House. Before we left for Denver we put up our decorations and tree (who can resist a cute 3 year old asking to please put up the Christmas tree?!). We have also visited Santa and Bobby gave him his wishes (Iron Man - a Daddy one, Mommy one, and baby one - basically 3 different Iron Men). He told us later that he forgot to tell Santa that he wanted it to snow so we had him tell Pretzel who has come back again (our elf).

We also had our first Christmas party of the season. One of the parents in Bobby's class threw a "Tacky Christmas Sweater" party. It was lots of fun getting dressed up and playing games.

Thanksgiving

This year we traveled for the first time at Thanksgiving. We flew to Denver to visit Robert's family there. We had a good time relaxing with the family and catching up. Bobby made a new friend with the little boy across the street who just so happened to have a little car, Bobby loved that! Lanin even called Bobby twice to come play, I can't believe at 3 years old he got his first phone call. On Friday we had our regular family poker game with us all in our hats (it's goofy but our tradition!). Saturday we drove up into the mountains to find Bobby some snow. There wasn't much snow around and when we finally found some it was way too cold & windy to play. We were in and out of the car very quickly!

Baby Shower for Connor

We had a great weekend with lots going on. Saturday started off with us taking some family pictures. I wanted to have some pictures for Christmas cards and also thought it would be nice to have some new pics while I was pregnant. We had a fun time taking the pictures and the one's we have seen so far are great!

Saturday afternoon a few of my girlfriends threw a baby shower for me and baby-to-be Connor. The shower was a lot of fun and everything was beautiful. I'm so thankful for my wonderful family and friends and their generosity in helping us get ready to welcome Connor!

Halloween!

We had a fun and festive Halloween with lots of activites! This year Bobby decided he wanted to be a fireman, then later it turned into he was a fireman and Iron Man per his description (but he only actually dressed up as a fireman).

We started off a couple weekends ago Bobby's school had their fall festival. Bobby had fun running into his classmates and teachers and playing all the games. Bobby also helped us carve pumpkins this year, he enjoyed scooping the goup out and eating the toasted seeds. This past weekend we had a costume party at one of his classmates houses. We all (even the adults) dressed up and had fun playing games. Sunday we headed to the carnival at Elevate Life (the church my brother & his family attend). Bobby had a good time riding the rides with his cousins! Then Monday we of course did the traditional trick-or-treating. We teamed up again with our neighbors daughters Bella (Ariel) and Lily (Jasmine) and the Balkin's took Liam for a stroll with us too. At the end of the night all our feet were tired and we had LOTS of candy!

Go Eagles!!

This weekend we attended Homecoming at North Texas. We started off Satuday with attending the parade. We met up with the Larsen Family and picked out a good spot to watch the parade. Bobby had a blast waving to everything that passed by and picking up the candy and other goodes that were thrown out. We saw the band, cheerleaders, dancers, horses, floats, old cars, and old war vehicles.

After the parade we headed towards the game against ULM. I have to say that I was very much impressed at the tailgating and the crowds that were there at the new stadium. It actually felt like a real college tailgating event. After walking around and getting Bobby's face painted we headed in to watch the Eagles win over the War Hawks. Bobby and Max (and the rest of us) had a great time at the game!

Dynamos Soccer!

I can't believe Bobby's first soccer season has come to a close! His team played 6 games and even though they didn't win, all the kids had a good time (which was most important!). I think Bobby enjoyed playing soccer overall. He would get upset if someone took the ball away and didn't want to play anymore. But I think he had a good time getting out and playing with his friends. This week his team had their end of the season party. We had pizza, cake and all the kids were awarded a trophy by Coach Cliff. All the kids loved getting a trophy!! Can't wait to see what next season brings!

Papa & Grammy Visit

This past weekend Papa & Grammy (Robert's Dad and step-mom) came to visit from Denver. They haven't been down to visit since Bobby was 2 months old, so this was a big deal for all of us! They arrived Friday afternoon and we just spent some time hanging out at the house. Saturday we went to Bobby's last soccer game and then on to the Dallas Arboretum for the afternoon and dinner and custard at Double Dip (yum!). On Sunday we visited downtown Grapevine and then came home for naps and dinner. Monday after a breakfast at Ihop we had to say goodbye. We had such a nice visit and are looking forward to possibly going to Denver over Thanksgiving to visit the rest of the family.

On Monday after saying good-bye to Grammy & Papa we visited the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. Bobby had a lot of fun bouncing in the bounce houses and playing among all the wood character cutouts.

State Fair of Texas!

This past weekend we decided to visit the State Fair. It's been since before Bobby was born that either Robert or I have been, so we were due for a fair day. It was so much fun. We met up for a bit with sister Cindi, Mark, and his kids and fed the animals and saw Logan & Landry's entries into the fair. They both did an awesome job and Landry won First Place and Best of Show! Seeing her reaction when she saw her ribbons was priceless and such a special moment for their family! Then our tummy's started grumbling for some state fair food so we ended up splitting ways. After grabbing some food (nachos, corn dogs, and the Fried Buffalo Wing in a Flapjack - all spread out throughout the day) we ventured to the car shows, some exhibits, rode the ferris wheel and some other kiddie rides for Bobby, played a few games and of course a picture with Big Tex. Bobby had a blast, I'm so glad we were able to take him this year when he really enjoyed it!

The other parts of the weekend were spent with Bobby having his soccer game and then Robert took him to the fall festival at Calloways with his buddy Maxton while mom and I had a girls day with some friends and headed out towards Canton for lots of shopping. I love getting to spend the day with my mom and great friends! Saturday evening we had dinner for Emma's 6th birthday (can't believe she's 6!) with the family at Dave & Bev's. We all had a great time celebrating a very special girl!

Beach Get-a-way

We just got back from a beach vacation to Orange Beach, AL. We had so much fun during our week on the beach. Bobby did great on both the drive (abt. 12 hours) to and from the beach. I think mostly because he had 'Ama in the back with him. We rented a 3 bedroom condo (or as Bobby called it "the hondo") in Orange Beach which overlooked the Gulf Coast. We had a blast building sand castles, hunting for shells, and running into the waves. All of these Bobby's favorites! We enjoyed several walks on the beach, flying a kite, and of course taking lots of pictures.

We also vitiated the Naval Air Base in Pensacola and watched the Blue Angels practice (very cool!). I would really like to go to one of their actual shows.

We also stuffed ourselves with lots of seafood at the great restaurants we visited; Shrimp Basket, Bubbas Seafood House, LuLu's (Jimmy Buffet's sisters restaurant) and the Original Oyster House. And of course partook some souvenir shopping!

On our way out of Orange Beach we stopped in Mobile at the USS Alabama. The ship was commissioned in 1942 and it was really neat to see how sailors had to live. I learned that my grandfather was on a similar ship, the USS Wyoming.

We had such a wonderful time at the beach and wish we were still there!

Soccer Time!

We had a busy weekend full of soccer and other fun things. Friday we were invited out on our friends the Sharps new boat. We brought the kids along and they had such a fun time. We anchored in a spot for a few hours and grilled, watched the beautiful sunset and caught up.

Saturday we started the day with Bobby's first soccer game! The team (nor the refs) paid much attention to formal rules, but all the kids had fun which I think was the important thing. Our team scored 3 goals and one of them was by Bobby. Check out the video! He had such a great time and would get upset when it wasn't his turn to play. So much better than the other way around which I was afraid might happen. Can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out! And thank you to his cheering crowd for coming out!

Sunday was my birthday and we started the day off with attending church and then brunch at Blue Mesa (yummy!). This week I celebrated with some of my girlfriends by having dinner at Esparsas in Grapevine and then Painting with a Twist. So fun!

End of Summer

The past few weeks of summer flew by! We celebrated my big brother's birthday and the whole family went to Babes chicken for dinner and then for a swim at their house. Emma and I took lots of silly pictures with my camera! Love that sweet girl! Then we had a pool party at one of Bobby's school friends home. We have such fun hanging out with this new group from his school.

Bobby has also started soccer! He is on a team with 8 of his friends from school. We're really excited that he gets to play on a team with his friends. I really hope this is a great learning and growing experience for him. So far he is doing good. He has his first game this weekend. Go Dynamos!!

I also was able to go visit my friend Brooke and her twin girls one afternoon with several of my other girlfriends. It was so nice visiting with Brooke and seeing the girls. All are doing well and adjusting to new life and schedules. I was also able to hold both girls at once, such a fun thing to do!

Over Labor Day weekend we started pulling things together for Connor's room. My nesting instincts are kicking in early! I ordered fabric to make his bedding (thanks to Robert's mom for making it for us!), picked out furniture and started paining. Next week, I'll be 20 weeks, half-way (or maybe less) to meeting our new little boy! Over the weekend we also went to a birthday party at Chuck-E-Cheese, pool party at my brothers, and the zoo with the Larsen's. I really felt like we needed a weekend from our long weekend!

Boys rule!

This past week Robert and I went for a 3D sonogram. This wasn't something we did with Bobby, but after seeing some of our close friends do this and the pictures they had we decided we wanted to see our baby more too. We went for the gender sonogram that Stork Vision does at 16 weeks (I was almost 17 weeks). At first we weren't sure if the baby was going to cooperate, but finally we got a good picture and found out that it's a boy!

I always felt that for some reason when it was time for us to have a second baby that we would have a boy. We're really excited to have another boy in the family and Bobby's excited about a little brother. As far as a name, I think we have settled on Connor (whether we'll go with "or" or "er" is still up for debate) Grant (Robert's middle name).

Short story: Bobby was playing with some sports stickers and one of the stickers said "Go Team". He loves to give us stickers and that's the one I told him I wanted. Now that we are having two boys I feel like we have a little "team". This seemed to stick with both Robert and I. So "Go Team Anderson!"

Splish Splash!

We've been keeping cool in this record heat by being in the water. We took a trip to the Frisco Aquatic Center, had friends over to play in our "pool" and had a play date at the splash park with some of Bobby's school friends. We also got a cover for our back porch so we can maybe sit outside while Bobby plays. We also had some old school fun by sliding down a hill on a box. Kind of corny but the boys (Robert included) loved it!! Keep cool!

July Happenings

July has flown by me! This month we've been celebrating with friends as they open new chapters. We've celebrated not only our own wedding anniversary, but the birth of 3 babies, a friends wedding where Robert participated as a groomsman, and an engagement. Whew! We're so excited to see our friends start on these new adventures. And speaking of adventures, we've officially announced to everyone that I'm pregnant with out second child! We're very blessed and excited! I'm due January 29th (Robert's mom's b-day and my best friend Brooke's b-day) and feeling pretty good. In between weddings and hospital visits we've had some fun time with Bobby...swimming, snow-cones, and a trip to LegoLand Discovery Center in Grapevine.

July 4th Weekend

We had a fun and busy 4th of July weekend hanging out with family & friends! We started the weekend off with dinner at Babe's Chicken with friends and then a movie at home.

Saturday we spent the afternoon at my brother's swimming and then we all headed to the FC Dallas game that evening. It was a good game (first time we've been to a game) with a great fireworks show at the end. Bobby enjoyed the fireworks, although he was really tired. After we got in the car he told us he wanted to go night-night in his car seat. We were excited to finally meet my sister's friend Mark's kids, Logan & Landry. They are awesome kids and played so well with all the younger kids. I think Bobby was smitten with Landry!

On Sunday we ended up spending the day at my brother's again. This time with more family and some of their friends. We BBQ'd and swam into the evening. It was so fun watching Bobby with his cousins and the other kids. That evening after we got home we played with some sparklers and firecrackers. I think Bobby really enjoyed the sparkers!

On Monday we did a little shopping, went to see Cars2 (GREAT movie!) and then headed to our friends the Laumer's for our annual BBQ and to watch the Little Elm fireworks show.

Now I need a weekend from my weekend!! Hope everyone had a fun 4th of July weekend!

June Wrap-Up

Can't believe June is almost over and July 4th is around the corner. This month flew by! We have spent lots of time at the pool that past couple weeks working on Bobby's swimming, he's doing great with his floaties on! We also had our first (or mine & Bobby's) venture to In-N-Out. It was good, but I'm glad we didn't have to wait too long. The rest of the time we've spent attending outdoor concerts, splash park & pool parties, and feeding the neighborhood ducks. Robert and I even got away for a day and hung out on the lake with our friends while Bobby spent some time with 'Ama.

Two words to describe Bobby this month - Monkey & Fish. He loves the water and loves climbing and jumping!! Bobby is now "reading" books to us. He's really enjoying reading us a book at bedtime, his favorite to read is Blue Hat, Green Hat by Sandra Boyton. If I didn't know better I would think he was actually reading us the book because the words are pretty simple. It's so great to hear him read to us and tell us what's happening on the page when a year ago we were worried about his language. His imagination has also been taking off recently and he loves pretending with his toys. He also loves to talk about his family members and how much he loves them, so sweet!!

June Happenings

Whew, we've had a crazy couple weeks. I started a new job on the first of June and then that weekend hosted another baby shower. This time the shower was for Brooke and her twin girls and I had lots of help from mine & Brooke's best friend Jenn. What does a girl do without her girlfriends?! Brooke's shower was lots of fun and she got lots of neat gifts for her girls!

Last week Robert headed out of town, this is the first time he's been gone for multiple nights! He helped his dad and aunt move his grandparents from outside Grand Rapids to Chicago (about 4 hours from each other). I'm so glad he was able to go and visit with his family and help them out, he hadn't seen his aunt in about 20 years!

After all the rushing around we pretty much hung low this past weekend. We enjoyed a live concert with friends and neighbors, had a game night with some friends that we hadn't seen in a while and went swimming. We were busy having a good time that we didn't get any pictures and just enjoyed hanging out together.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had quite a busy Memorial Day weekend! We started off with attending my nephew Andrew's 4th Super Hero birthday party. All the kids were given masks to decorate and capes to wear while they performed super hero tasks (leaping off tall buildings, lifting heavy objects, fighting villains with silly string).

After the birthday party we had a party of our own to throw, this time for our friends Jennie & Kevin who are expecting their first baby, Liam, in July. We had about 40 of their friends and family in our home. There was plenty of food and drink and presents for the baby & parents! While we were throwing the party, Bobby stayed with mimi & grand-dad and swam at my brother's. His swimming has already improved over last year and he is swimming on his own some with help from his floaties, check out the video.

On Sunday we had a play date with our friends the Larsen's & Synrod's at the park. We fed the ducks, played and had lunch. It was a fun morning! And on Sunday we spent some time at the pool!

Cowboys Stadium & more

A couple of weekends ago we headed out to Arlington and toured Cowboys Stadium with our good friends Jennie & Kevin. We had a great time learning about the stadium and had lunch at one of our favorite places, Joe T. Garcias. Later that evening we attended a surprise 30th party for our friend Lisa. Then we wrapped up the weekend by attending Bobby's classmates Audrey's Pirate birthday party.

Mother's Day Weekend

I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year, and not just a day but a whole weekend. On Saturday my mom, nana, sisters and I had high tea at Patti's Place. This is the 3rd year that at least some of the ladies in the family could attend. The tea was yummy as usual! After tea we took some family pictures on the porch of the house where the tea room is. It's always a great opportunity to snap some pictures to remember the special day.

Since my oldest sister Pam was in town we invited the whole family over for a grill out and game night. Robert and Mark worked the grill and Mark made us some "special" drinks that even my nana enjoyed! After dinner everyone stayed around for some games. I think we all had a fun time hanging out together.

On Sunday we went to church at the church we have been visiting, Hope Fellowship, and then headed for brunch at Blue Goose. Since the weather was warm and the pool wasn't open yet our neighbors and us set up our "pools" for the kids to run and splash in. My boys were so sweet to me all weekend (not that they always aren't!) and Bobby gave me lots of snuggles which I really enjoyed and took advantage of!

San Antonio, Sea World, & Gruene

This past weekend we took a road trip down to San Antonio to take Bobby to Sea World. We left Friday morning and arrived in San Antonio to spend the late afternoon on the River Walk. We decided to take one of the river bardge tours, I had never done one and we thought Bobby would enjoy. He really liked being on a boat! We enjoyed stopping and listening to music and watching dancers as we wandered around the River Walk. Then we stopped to dine overlooking the river and headed back to our hotel. Getting Bobby settled down for the night was a challenge, he was so pumped to go to Sea World the next day!! We all stayed in one room, but we brought with us Bobby's pop-up tent that 'Ama gave him for his birthday so he could "camp out". He did great with sleeping in the tent...once we finally got him settled down.

On Saturday morning we headed out to Sea World! I was amazed at how many people were lined up to get in before it even opened! Bobby loved finally being at Sea World and we wore ourselves out!! We saw all but one of the shows on Saturday, but I think Azul was all of our favorites. We also were able to feed the sea lions and the dolphins, Bobby had no issues picking up the stinky fish and throwing it out for them. Bobby was also able to ride the "kid rides" at the park in the new Seasme Street area. He loved every minute of it (check out the video of him on the roller coasters)!  Even though we spent ALL day on Saturday at the park and wore blisters on our feet, we decided to go back for more on Sunday!  Since we didn't get to play in the water Saturday (which Bobby was really looking forward to) we decided to go back. We purchased Fun Passes which allow you to go anytime all season, amazingly same price as a regular ticket. On Sunday we were able to see the Seasme Street show and play in the new splash park for a couple hours. We also got Bobby warmed up to the idea of taking a few pictures with the Seasme Street characters. Sea World is definitely a two day event! I'm hoping we can make it back this fall to enjoy some more time!

Watching "Belive", Killer Whales

On our way back to Dallas we decided to stop for lunch at one of our favorite places in Texas, the Gristmill in Gruene. We had great lunch sitting on the patio over looking the Guadalupe River. After lunch and a little browsing through the gift shops, we headed home for Dallas. We had such a fun weekend, but it's good to be back home.

Easter Weekend

We had a great long Easter weekend this year! I had Friday off and took Bobby out to the Arboretum for the Eddie Coker childrens concert. We had a picnic, danced, and had fun playing in the princess houses that the Arboretum has on display. Later that afternoon we colored eggs and then Robert and I had a date night while Bobby stayed at 'Ama's. On Saturday we took Bobby to his first baseball game. We went to see the Frisco Rough Riders play Corpus Christi. Unfourtantely, it started raining and lightining so we decided to leave after the 3rd inning. Bobby had a great time so we will be going again soon! Sunday we started off the day attending Easter service at Hope Fellowship with some friends and then had dinner at my brothers with most of the family and some of their friends. The kids had a big egg hunt and we ate LOTS of YUMMY food!

Bluebonnets

What is Spring in Texas without Bluebonnet pictures?! We ventured out twice last weekend to Zion Cemetery, which is just north of us, to try and get some pictures in the bluebonnets. The bluebonnets were very pretty this year! Bobby wasn't in the greatest of moods either time (he gets very tired of having his picture taken), but towards the end we were able to get some good smiles out of him.

Bobby is 3!

My baby is turning into a big boy! He turned 3 this past weekend, I can hardly believe it's been 3 years already! His personality has really been shining. He loves playing pretend, building structures with blocks, and playing in his sand box. For his 3rd birthday we had a party at home with a Dinosaur theme and invited several close friends and some of his school classmates. It was a little crazy, but I think everyone had a good time. Bobby loved having everyone over to play! On Sunday we had a quieter family dinner for Bobby's birthday; that way he could spend some time with his grandparents and other family members that were available to come for dinner. It was a fun weekend celebrating mine and Robert's big boy turning 3!

We also took him for his 3 year well exam this week. He grew exactly 2 inches and almost 2 pounds, 36.25 in tall (12%) and 30.2 lbs (34%) and has 20/20 vision (he spots things better than either Robert or I do with our contacts in!).

Trip to the Zoo

This past weekend we visitied the Dallas Zoo with our friends Jenn, Nick and their now 1 year old son, Max. We had a fun morning walking around the zoo and then had lunch in the cafe in the new Giants of the Savannah area. Robert and I felt a little like tour guides; it had been a long time since Nick & Jenn had been to the Dallas Zoo and it was Max's first trip to a zoo. Bobby was so excited to go to the zoo and he was really interested in seeing the Lion's.

Did you see what Bobby got?

In case you didn't spot it in the pictures from last month...we got Bobby a Bounce House for his birthday! We figured this would be great to use for birthday parties and having fun in the back yard. We decided to break out the BH a little early so it wasn't too overwhelming with the party this weekend for Bobby. Let us know if you want to have a bounce house play date :)

Party all the time!

We have been on a tour of birthday parties this last month! We've had so much fun watching Bobby play with his friends and getting to know some of his classmates parents better. We also celebrated Roberts birthday this past week. We had a BBQ with some friends and neighbors and had a great time hanging out and playing games. We have really been enjoying getting to know our neighbors in our new neighborhood!

Here's a rundown of the activities we've been up to.

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day everyone! Hope you get to enjoy some time with your loved ones. We did our Valentines celebrations over this past weekend. On Saturday we took Bobby to Build-A-Bear for the first time. A few weeks ago he told me that Teddy needed shoes and a jacket so I thought he might be getting ready to do something like BAB. He had a lot of fun picking out an animal to fluff with love. He had a hard time settling on one, but he finally decided on the puppy dog. He stuffed him with love, gave his heart a kiss, and picked out a cute outfit for him and gave him a name (with a little help from mommy), Barkley. He really likes Barkley and had to carry him around Target, but when he saw Teddy again, Barkley was second string. We spent the rest of the day decorating cookies with the neighbors and baby-sitting our friends two little girls so they could have a night out.

On Sunday, Robert's mom and I went to the Cirque du Soleil show, Ovo, in Frisco. It was AWESOME!!!!  There were so many "Wow!" and "Oh my!" moments and I loved every minute of it. If you ever get a chance to go, take it! We rounded out the weekend with Robert's mom "Ama" spending some time with her little Valentine so Robert and I could have a date night out. We love being able to spend some time together on Valentines, it's always a special time for us to have a date night. Thanks Ama!

Snowed In!

Wow, can't believe we were snowed in for four days in Texas! I truly enjoyed this snowed-in time. Bobby and I had lots of fun playing together, play dates with the neighbors and some relaxing in between. Robert had to work from home all week (and I had to do a few small things), but overall we had the week to hang out. Next week is going to be hard getting back to routine! We were able to get out and play several times in the ice/snow. We improvised and turned a broken down box into a sled and slid down the driveway. After the big snow storm Friday we got out and played a couple of times. Bobby loved going down his slide into the big snow pile we set up at the end, but overall he likes to clean the snow off more than anything.

January Recap

The last few weeks of January flew by. We ventured out on a cold rainy to the Children's Aquarium in Dallas. It was much smaller than the Dallas Aquarium, but perfect for kids. The tanks were just the right height for Bobby to look into and he was able to touch a soft-shell crab too. Towards the end of the month we celebrated my sister Cindi's 40th birthday with a surprise party thrown by her boyfriend Mark, then we headed out to Jacksboro to celebrate Brooke's 30th and we wrapped up the month with a dinner out for Robert's mom's birthday.

Somewhere in the mix of all of that we converted Bobby's toddler bed into a "big boy" full sized bed. He has loved his new bed and is staying in bed more often now (yea!). We also painted the upstairs bathroom and added drawer/cabinet pulls in our kitchen.

Snow Day!

Can't believe 9 days in to the New Year and we've already had a snow day! The snow was beautiful, falling in big fluffy flakes. In Little Elm we got about 3-4 inches...just enough to play in. We went out after the snow stopped falling and had a snowball fight and tried to build a snowman, but he fell apart. Bobby enjoyed sweeping the snow off the driveway the best, such the little helper.

Vacation Week!

Play Toys! This is the new phrase heard all over our house! Robert and I both had the week between Christmas and New Years off and we took Bobby out of daycare for the week. We enjoyed spending time together (when one or the other of us wasn't sick). Bobby loved to play with his new toys he received at Christmas. We were so happy to see him really playing with everything, I think some new big boy toys were really what he needed.

We also did a couple outings; shopping at the Galleria, Dallas Zoo, and the Northpark Trains (it's really neat!). Bobby loved going to the zoo and seeing the animals, he kept asking to see more and he even got a pony ride. We rang in the New Year with our friends the Laumer's on NYE and then black-eyed peas & cornbread at Mimi and Grand-dad's. Here's hoping for luck & some gold in 2011.

Bobby has really been growing up the past couple weeks. He's talking SO much more and is even "joking" with us. He thinks opposites are funny, like calling me a boy instead of a girl, he says "Mommy's a boy" and then will giggle, so we know he's just trying to be silly. He loves working puzzles and of course coloring! He'll be moving up to the next classroom at school next week. His teachers picked him and a couple others to move up because they've been doing so well. We're so proud of Bobby and everything he's accomplished this past year!

Wishing you a wonderful 2011!

Christmas Fun

Bobby had a wonderful Christmas and was spoiled by all! He was so fun this Christmas, watching how his personality has developed and how excited he gets. We started off Christmas Eve day making cookies for Santa, then we had an early dinner and went to Christmas Eve service at a church we've visited a couple times with our neighbors. We then came home to open presents with Grandma and had a surprise visit by Santa Clause! Bobby was so cute opening his presents, he would tear through the wrapping hold the present up for a picture and then put it to the side to open the next present. He wasn't greedy about opening presents, he just had his system down. It was really funny to watch. After presents we said goodbye to our elf Pretzel and then it was off to bed.

Christmas morning Bobby came downstairs to see Santa had arrived and left him a choo choo train and candy in his stocking (just what he asked for!). Robert and I were both impressed that Bobby sat right down (in the middle of the track) and started playing with the train, he knew exactly how to make it work without any help from us. He was excited to see that Santa had also unpackaged and set up his gifts that mom & dad and grandma had given him.

After breakfast we headed over to my parents for Christmas Day. Bobby and his cousins unwrapped their gifts and then we had dinner. After dinner the adults had a Christmas gift exchange, first year we have done this and it went really well. It was a very nice day!

Since Kevin was not able to be with us on Christmas Day most of the family came over to our house on Sunday for Kevin to open his presents. Kevin showed us some tricks on his scooter and we played games and had pizza.

It was a fun weekend! Now Robert, Bobby and I are ready to kick back and spend the week hanging out with each other.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Painting with a Twist

My girlfriend Stephanie invited a bunch of us to Painting with a Twist a couple months back. It sounded like a fun idea; learn how to paint a picture, hang out with friends, and drink wine. What a brilliant idea! So Stephanie, Jenn, and myself signed up to paint "Santa's Helpers". We had such a fun time that we decided to do it again this past week for our friend D'Ann's birthday. This time we painted Moonlit Cherry Blossoms. It was a little harder of a painting, but we all had fun creating our master pieces! We hope to continue going to the classes every few months and a paint a new picture. I think we'll need to open a gallery soon! :)

I've been to both a class in Grapevine and Frisco. Both were really good. Grapevine was a little more instructional and structured (could just be the painting though) and Frisco was more artsy and laid back.

More Christmas!

The past few weeks we've been busy getting ready for our Christmas party, having fun doing Christmas things, and then finally having our Sweet Treats Holiday party. Whew! Here's a run down of events you'll see in the pictures:

*Visited Fire Safety Town with our Neighbors the Franks: We had a fun time walking around the little town. Bobby enjoyed visiting each of the houses, having his face painted, climbing in the fire truck, sending a letter to Santa, and finally sitting in Santa's lap.

*Story Time with Santa at Watters Creek in Allen: This was a tough event to get many pictures at. It was very crowded and couldn't really here the story. But we enjoyed hot chocolate and snuggling up together.

*Dinner & S'mores with Mimi & Grand-dad: We invited mimi and grand-dad (my parents) over for dinner. Bobby loved having his grandparents over (but didn't want his picture taken)! After dinner we decided to make some s'mores!

*Bunco! Always a fun time!

*And finally our Sweet Treats Christmas Party: One of the things that I've always wanted to do was have a big Christmast party; moving into the new house this year finally allowed us the space to do this. We had over 60 people in our home! It was crowded, crazy, and noisy, but we hope everyone had a great time. Unfortunately we didn't get many pictures, I wish I would have stopped and taken the time to take some. Here's a picture of us before the party started.

Feeling like Christmas time!

We've had a busy few weeks around our house. A few weekends ago while the tree's had all the fall leaves (can't believe we had fall in Texas this year!) we took a few family photos for our Christmas cards. Bobby wasn't so sure about pictures, but we got a few cute one's of him. :)

We celebrated Thanksgiving with a big feast at my brother's with the family and some of their friends. Everything was so yummy! I tried to take more pictures of the festivites this year.

After Thanksgiving I always love to put up our Christmas tree. Bobby hung a few ornaments on the tree, but mostly liked to set them out for mommy & daddy to hang up. Bobby even got a tree in his room this year! We've been doing a lot of things around the house and figuring out how we want to decorate the new house for Christmas. More pictures to come...

Over this past weekend I went with the ladies in my family (most of them anyways) to see the Nutcracker at Winspear Opera House, performed by the Texas Ballet Theater Company. I'd seen this production before and it was just as great as the first time. The opera house is beautiful and worth seeing a show there.

Saturday evening I got a last minute call to join some of my fellow Vines Vikette alumni girls for lunch the following day. It was so great to catch up with them, one of the girls (Christy) I hadn't seen in over 12 years!

Visiting Santa Claus

I know it's a little early, but over this past weekend we visited Stonebriar mall and helped welcome Santa to Frisco. They had face painting, balloon animals, David Chicken perfomed, and of course the arrival of Santa on a fire truck! I was a little nervous of how Bobby would do with visiting Santa this year. Last year he cried and almost refused to take a picture. This year he did AWESOME! He was very excited to see Santa and tell him what he wanted for Christmas and he also smiled BIG for the camera. Bobby asked Santa for a choo choo train and candy (so sweet!). Bobby had an great time watching Santa arrive to Frisco!

After the Santa excitement we relaxed at home and made s'mores on the patio with our friends the Johnson's. It was a great way to end the day!

Weekend Getaway!

Robert and I took our first trip (more than just 1 night) without Bobby this past weekend. We headed down to Fredericksburg with our good friends Jennie & Kevin for a relaxing weekend of food and wine (and maybe a little shopping). None of us had ever been to Fredericksburg so it was a perfect place to visit (I have a goal of seeing more of Texas over the next few years). We rented a little cottage one block off of Main Street and it was the perfect place to stay! We visited several vineyards, shopped on Main Street, and ventured out to Enchanted Rock State Park. (I've put links at the bottom of the post for the B&B and places we dined). We had such a fun time relaxing and hanging out with our friends, we can't wait till they're our neighbors!

More pictures from the trip

So what did Bobby do? Grandma came to stay with Bobby for the weekend. They had a lot of fun together visiting Frank Buck Zoo and playing stickers (of course!).

Bed & Breakfast - Courtyard Cottage

Vineyards - Becker, Grape Creek (our favorite), Rancho Ponte, D'Vine Wines

Food - Silver Creek, Fredericksburg Brewery, Bejas Grill, River City Grill (Marble Falls)

Wine Bars - House. Wine., Lincoln Steet Wine Market

Happy Halloween! And another Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we had a playdate at the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch with our friends the Larsens and Synrods. We met for lunch at Blue Goose (YUM!) and headed to the PP. Bobby had so much fun pulling the little boys in the wagon and helping hold them up and making them smile for pictures. It amazed both Robert and I how we have such a big boy now. It's so fun to see Bobby making friends and caring for the babies.

Max, Bobby, and Aiden

Bobby had a great time celebrating Halloween this year! He was so excited to finally get to wear his costume that his grandparents got him while we were in Colorado, Woody. Bobby loves watching Toy Story so it was a great costume for him!  On Friday night we attended his daycare's Fall Carnival. It was fun meeting some of the parents of kids in his classroom and watching him play with his buddies. Each of the classrooms at school was set up with a different activity for the kids, bubbles, balloons, hair paint, etc., and he had a great time in each room!

Bobby and buddy Tyson with their green hair

Saturday we headed out to Watters Creek in Allen where we met Robert's mom and my parents. Bobby watched a little of the magic show, visited the petting zoo and was then ready for some trick-or-treating. After all the activity we headed over to my brother's to watch the Rangers win game 3 of the World Series. GO RANGERS!

Sunday evening we went trick-or-treating on our street with our neighbor's the Frank's little girls Bella & Lilly. Bobby had a great time trick-or-treating this year. He loved running up to the houses and telling everyone that he was "Woody". He came home with an overflowing bucket of candy!

Parties, Pumpkins, and Football

We've been busy the past few weeks attending birthday parties and visiting local pumpkin patches. Bobby was invited to my friend Jenn Cole's little boy J.W.'s 2nd birthday party at The Village Express in Allen. All the kids had lots of fun playing in the little houses and dressing up as train engineers. We also attend my neice Emma's 5th birthday party. We had dinner at my brother's house on her actual birthday and then attended her party that Saturday at their home, the theme was "Little Chefs". Bobby had so much fun making his own pizza and decorating cupcakes to take home.

We've visted a couple pumpkin patches in the area recently as well. We ventured out to Celina to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm. Bobby had a lot of fun feeding the animals and going on the hay ride, but we were a little disappointed in the little amount of pumpkins that the farm had. Since we weren't able to pick out any pumpkins in Celina we visited the pumpkin patch down the road from us in Frisco. And of course I used it as another photo-op to take pictures of my cute little guy. :)

We also took Bobby to his first football game, UNT's Homecoming. Unfortunately the game wasn't that great, but Bobby had lots of fun dancing to the band and cleaning the bleachers.

"I'm a Big Kid Now"

I think this now needs to be Bobby's theme song. He's come a long way over the past week. He's now just about potty trained! He's on day number 4 of wearing big boy underwear and has only had 1 accident. We are SO PROUD of him!!

Bobby with his watch from Sonic, Silly Bands, and wearing

big boy underwear out for the first time.

Bobby also took his first trip to the dentist last week and it went really well. He let CC (the doctor at Child Smile) look in his mouth and clean his teeth, but we didn't do any x-rays.

Pumpkin Patch

Over the weekend we ventured to the Dallas Arboretum for the first weekend of the Great Pumpkin Festival. Our friends The Page's met us at the Arboretum where we enjoyed picnic lunches and taking lots of pictures. Unfortunately it was a really hot day so we only spent a couple of hours at the arboretum, but we had a good time despite the heat.

On Sunday, after picking up the house and running some errands, we went for a swim at my brother's. It was a great way to end the weekend, especially since there's not many pool days left this year!

In other news...Bobby is making great progress on his potty training! He's been wearing big boy underpants while we're at home and coming and getting us when he has to go potty. Just check out his potty chart for all the stickers he's earned! Yea Bobby!!

Trip to Colorado

We just got back from making our annual trip to Colorado to visit with Robert's family. We loved visiting over Labor Day last year so we decided to visit at the same time of year again. The weather is so beautiful!

Last year we made a day trip to Breckenridge with Robert's dad and step-mom, we loved it so much we decided to spend 2 days in Breck as a little mini-trip before visiting with Robert's dad in Denver. We left EARLY on Thursday morning, rented a van (which Robert LOVED) and set out on our way to the mountains. We had a lot of fun discovering Breck and the and it's surroundings. We shopped, rode the gondla, took a ride on the Super Slide at Peak 8, visited the Country Boy Gold Mine, ate a lot, and enjoyed the scenery!  We even took a rode trip to Vail (it's only about 30 miles from Breck) to have dinner. Bobby had such a great time that he didn't nap the whole trip (unless we were in the car :> ).

On Saturday we left the mountains and headed towards Robert's dad's in Thornton, CO. They just moved into a new house and are all settled in and making great friends in the neighborhood. On Sunday we visited the Denver zoo with Robert's step-brother's wife Lisa and their kids Lauren, Aiden and Ashton. We had a fun morning with them getting to know them better. After the zoo we headed back to Bob & Jan's for a BBQ with the rest of the family and their neighbors. Everyone had a great time eating lots of food and watching the kids play. Bobby loved playing with his cousin Lauren and she was such a tropper hanging out with him all day at the zoo and all evening long!

On Monday we headed to Taste of Colorado in downtown Denver. It was very crowded, but we had a good time checking out the local vendors. The remainder of the time was spent at Bob and Jan's house hanging out together and visiting before we headed home on Tuesday (rather Robert headed home while I flew to Kansas City to meet with my client for work).

It was a great trip to Colorado and can't wait to do it again soon!

End of August

Towards the end of August was a busy time for the us! Robert and I both were busy at work and home. I was in my soroity sister Evett's wedding the weekend before Labor Day. The wedding was beautiful and lots of fun! We're so excited that Evett & Aaron are now married. You can see all the pictures here.

While Robert and I were attending wedding functions, family helped out watching Bobby. He spent one weekend with Mimi & Grand-dad and the next with his Uncle Dave, Aunt Bev and cosins Emma & Andrew. He had a great time swimming and visiting the zoo with his cousins!

Play Date

Yesterday I had my A-Phi sisters over with all of our little guys and a couple "aunties". This was the first time that we got all the boys together. The boys played really well together. Max really wanted to get in on the action and Aiden will be running with the "big boys" soon! I hope we start to make this a regular occurence and my friends little boys and Bobby will become good friends!

Bobby had lots of fun during the week playing on his new playset and in the sandbox. We finally broke out all the sand toys that Jenn & Brooke gave Bobby for his birthday and you can't pull him away from them!

New Playset

Over the weekend we (mostly Robert) put together Bobby's new playset. This is his late birthday gift from us and his grandparents helped chip in to. All in all it took about 7 hours to put together, we took a break in the middle to cool off at the pool and get some dinner. Bobby loves the new playset and was even playing on it before we were done. I'm so glad to have something right in our backyard that he can have fun playing on instead of having to drive to the park.

We also got a new kitchen table over the weekend and moved our current table into the dinning room. Things are taking shape at the new house! We also had our neighbors (Nesa, Greg, Bella(5), Lilly(17mo) ) over for dinner on Saturday. It was fun getting to know them better and making some new friends.

Bobby is moving rooms at school today! The school called this morning and said Bobby went to the next room to play and didn't want to go back to his room. So we decided to go ahead and move him up to the next room (was going to happen later this month). We're very excited because this means potty training will be reinforced at school as they take the kids to the potty on a schedule. Everyday I marvel at how much of a big boy he's becoming and how quickly time is flying by with him.

Hello August!

Wow, can't believe July has flown by. We've been steadily working on things at our new house which has kept us busy over most of the weekends (I've updated the "Our Home" page). July has been so hot we haven't been outside playing much. We have taken Bobby to feed the ducks at the pond in our neighborhood, gone for snowcones at the Frisco Snowcone Lady, and played with lots of bubbles.

A couple weekends ago we had our friends the "other" Anderson's over (Jared, Heather, Parker & Avery). The kids entertained us with singing and dancing and we all had a fun time. Check out the band's video!

Bobby has been doing great this month in his big boy toddler bed. No more getting out and sleeping in front of the door! And he loves that his room is now blue! We've slowly been working on potty training, but haven't made much progress. We put up a poster over the weekend that he can put stickers on if he goes potty, hopefully this will give him a little motivation. He also had a big booboo on his groin this weekend. He basically flipped over the chair and hit himself on the bookshelf, ow! He wanted an ice pack and you could tell it really hurt him because he kept the ice pack in that one spot. Luckily all is OK and hopefully no more accidents for the week. :)

July 4th Weekend

The Anderson Family had a blast over the long 4th of July weekend. We started off Friday by getting Bobby's haircut. I know it's a minor thing, but I was so proud of him because it took an hour (long wait) and he didn't get fussy once! Then we tried out a new restaurant, Manny's Icehouse Grill in Frisco. We really liked it and will be visiting again soon.

On Saturday (3rd) we headed over to the Womack's (my brother & sister-in-law) for the 4th of July party they've been talking about since deciding to put in the pool last year. Unfourtantely, the weather wasn't so great. It was a little chilly & rainy. But the pool was able to be heated up and we all enjoyed a fun time of swiming and volleyball. Once it started raining we moved inside where we had lots of food to munch on after swimming. Then my sister-in-law told Robert and I to leave Bobby there sleeping and go to a movie, so we did! It was nice to hang out with my hubby for a bit (thank you Bev!)!

Sunday (4th) we headed over to our friends the Laumer's house for a 4th of July BBQ. We blew up the kiddie pool for the kids, lit the charcoal and kicked back. The kids had a great time splashing around and then we all chowed down again. We were able to walk out the Laumer's front door to watch the fireworks, so great not to deal with the traffic!

Monday (5th) we had the day off and went swimming again at the Womack's. Bobby really enjoyed the pool on Monday and even did a little "swimming" and played in the sand box.  This was my perfect idea of a long weekend with my family. Can I have another again soon?!

Past few weeks

Thought I would give an update, it's been a couple weeks. We've been settling into the new house and giving lots of tours (thanks to everyone who has stopped by!) which has kept us quite busy on the weekends. We've been slowly painting rooms, planting flowers, and getting things organized while still trying to run our usual errands and spend some time together.

Bobby loves to show off his new room, or rooms considering he thinks the gameroom is his too(sound familiar mom & dad?). We've had some difficulties with keeping him in bed since we converted his crib to a toddler bed. I think he enjoys his new freedom, but we keep finding him asleep in front of his door. We've adjusted his bedtime to a little later the past couple nights and he's been staying in bed, hopefully that was the trick. We're looking forward to the long holiday weekend coming up and spending time with our family and friends!

All moved in!

We are all moved in to our new house and have our family all back in one place (our cat Cooper was at Grandma Anderson's). We love the new house and having space to play, cook and just get ready in the morning without stepping on each others toes. Most of our boxes are unpacked, but we still have a lot to go through, painting, and other things that we want to do around the house.

Bobby is doing great in the new house. He now has a big boy (toddler) bed and likes climbing up and down the stairs on his own (saving mommy & daddy's backs). He loves his new playroom and wants to go in there all the time, who could blame him! It was like Christmas when we got all of his toys out! He has especially enjoyed having Cooper back home and chases him around the house and gives him lots of treats.  We're looking forward to meeting our neighbor's (have met a few already) and their kids, Bobby has lots of new playmates on our street.

Come visit us soon!

Almost moving time!

We're moving into the new house this weekend! We had a walk-through yesterday afternoon and house looks good except for some cosmetic things. I'm pretty sure 95% of the things on our list will be taken care of by closing tomorrow morning. I think there will be a couple things they will have to come back to fix, some cabinet repairs. Robert has the flu so wish him a speedy recovery so we can get moved and settled into the new house.

Trip to Dallas Zoo

Last weekend we visted the Dallas Zoo with our friends the Laumer's. As members of the zoo we were able to go to a special preview of the Giants of the Savannah exhibit. It's really nice and looks like a great home for the animals that will be in that section. You can even feed the giraffe's! It was a great day, but it's going to be getting hot to visit the zoo soon!

Weekend Trip & Pool Party

Over the weekend we headed out to Grandbury and Glenrose for a "mini-vacation". Just needed a night away. We visited Grandbury on Saturday and walked around the shops (I found a cute "antique" cream & sugar set!) and went on a little tour of the city which kind of happened by accident when we jumped on the trolly thinking it went straight to the downtown area, but we got to see some historic homes and a little of the town.

On Sunday we headed to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Zoo. It was really cool. Neither Robert or I had ever been and it was great to see Bobby's reactions to feeding the animals. It is a beautiful nature reserve and it was so neat to have the animals just walk up to the car. However, I think I have some scratches from the zebra trying to eat my door handle! We were also able to open the sun room and the girafe would stick his head down for us to feed him. Bobby kept throwing food out of the car and saying "eat!" and he loved to help daddy "drive". It was totally worth it to go and hope we can do it again soon. On our way out of town we stoped at The Ranch House BBQ, it was yummy! We took a ton of pictures! I've posted some of them above in the slideshow and you can find some more here.

On our way back to Frisco we stopped off at Dave & Bev's pool party. Pool is officially open! We had lots of fun. Bobby is a little skiddish of the water again this year, but we'll get him warmed up to it soon!

House Update: Only 10 days away! Tile is down, granite is put in kitchen (even though part of the granite & cabinets has to be re-done), walls are painted, and light fixtures are in.

Mothers Day

My boys always make Mother's Day a special day, make that weekend, for me. On Friday when I arrived home from work Bobby came running out of the house to give me a flower (c/o daycare). It's the first flower he has handed to me and just the picture of him holding the flower out for me just warms my heart. On Saturday I went to Mother's Day Tea with all the women in my family (mom, nana, Bev, Cindi, Pam, and Emma) at Patty's Place in Plano. If you have never been for their tea time it is really worth it. All the tea and food is scrumptious! This is the 2nd year we have gone and it's becoming our little tradition I think.

Sunday morning I finally got to find out what Robert and Bobby's "Super Secret Event" was. He and Bobby went to Color Me Mine to make me a mug. It's very cute and it's my first mother's day craft Bobby has given me. We also went to brunch at Bread Winners with Robert's mom and visited the new house. There have been lots of updates to the house. Brick is done, cabinets are in, shelving in the closets done, and wall texture done. It's really coming together. There are a few things that the builder needs to change/fix, but I think they'll be able to finish up on time!

Added New Pictures

I added some pictures from our activites over the weekend. I finally made it out on Thursday with Bobby to a patch of Bluebonnets close to my parents house. He wasn't really in the mood for pictures that day, but sometimes grumpy faces can be cute too! Over the weekend we headed out to Jacksboro for a BBQ at our friends the McCurry's. We had lots of fun and Bobby made a new pal, Mason, aka "Mace".

The new house is now drywalled! Hopefully brick will arrive this week. It was great to see the house coming together. See the walls up made it feel real that we'll have a new home soon!

Weekend Fun

Over the weekend we spent some time hanging out as a family. We broke out some new toys and played at the park. Bobby really enjoyed playing with his new bubble mower, after a little help from Daddy to get it working. On Sunday we visited the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano hoping to find some bluebonnets. Unfourtnately we didn't find any, but we saw some other great views! The preserve is beautiful with lots of walking trails, a pond, picnic tables, and a great park.

Our new house has now been insulated and they are hopefully putting up the dry wall this week. According to our builder, we are still on schedule to be in at the end of May.

Bobby's personality has really been shining this week. He's talking much more and making lots of silly faces! I've also added a new video of Bobby's favorite new activity at Target. :)

All Moved Out

We are now all moved out of our house on Brookstone. We were able to meet one of the buyers last Wednesday and were very glad to see that it will be a nice couple who are really excited to be buying their first house. It makes me feel good to know my old house will be (hopefully) in good hands by owners that appreciate having a house. We packed everything up and thanks to some friends and family were able to get everything out, put in storage, and the house cleaned in 2 days.

We are now at my parents and are all settled in. Bobby is loving seeing his Mimi & Grand-dad everyday. He asks for Mimi as soon as he wakes up! Bobby is now sleeping on a big boy bed with rails on the side. He looks so comfy and it's nice to be able to cuddle up next to him. He's been sleeping great and has been in a pretty good mood (which is a change from before the move).

Our new house should be ready at the end of May, hopefully in time to move over Memorial Day weekend!

Bobby's 2nd Birthday

Bobby is 2! Can't believe my baby is now 2 years old! Bobby turned 2 on April 10th and we had a Construction Birthday party at Frisco Commons Park. With being in the middle of packing our house we figured it would be easier to have the party away from home. Bobby invited lots of friends to join in his celebration. There were lots of activities for the kids: sidewalk chalk, coloring and stickers, bubbles, and a wrecking zone and of course the park itself. I think all the kids and parents had fun! Bobby received lots of great new toys too! Bobby especially loved the sand toys from Mommy's friends Brooke & Jenn, once he opened the rake and shovel he was done!

Bobby also had his 2 year check-up. He's 28 1/2 pounds, 34.5 inches, a growing boy. He grew 2 inches since October! Bobby has been loving his Daddy lately, wanting to spend lots of time with him! Bobby's favorite color is "blu". He always wants a blue cup and calls everything blue. He loves to see school buses and big trucks on the road!

Easter Weekend

Along with all the packing we did over the weekend, we had lots of fun playing together as a family over the long Easter weekend. Friday Bobby's school had an Easter Egg Hunt. We joined in for the festivities and helped Bobby hunt for some eggs. He had lots of fun playing with all of his friends and even shared some of the eggs he had picked up.

On Saturday we took a break from packing and headed to the Dallas Arboretum for some much needed sun and play time. We had a great time looking at all the flowers and having a picnic snack. Bobby LOVED eating all the grapes. He was so concerned about the snacks that even when we scooted over to take a family picture he had to bring all the snacks with him (they're hidden behind us in the pictures). Bobby wanted to touch all the flowers, instead I tried to show him how to smell the flowers so everyone can enjoy them. It was a great day to start spring!

On Easter Sunday Bobby woke up to find the basket that the Easter Bunny left for him. He had some sweet treats, a couple books, and a race car. But Bobby liked playing with the "grass" best! That afternoon we headed over to the Womack's for the annual Easter Egg Hunt and pot luck dinner. All the kids had a great time and Bobby was a very tired boy by the time we left.

Hope everyone had a blessed holiday and enjoyed the spring weather!

March Update

As mentioned previously, it's been a busy month. We've been home shopping and looked at over 30 houses! We finally settled on building out a spec home with Landon Homes in Little Elm. We'll be in the Lakeview at Sunset Point community. The house won’t be ready till end of May, so we will be moving in with my parents for a few weeks (aka Mimi & Grand-dad). We’re really excited and looking forward to having room to grow our family!

Over the weekend Bobby went to his friend Madison’s second birthday party at Petland. He had a lot of fun and so did we. Bobby was able to pet & hold several different animals and only was scared of the puppies, go figure! On Saturday we watched our friends the Laumer’s two girls, Maddie & Megan. It was a beautiful day and all the kids had fun playing outside in the sun (and helping me water the plants too!). We also visited our friends The Larsen’s and their new baby boy Max Patrick (3/9/10, 6lb 9oz 18.5" long). He is a sweet BEAUTIFUL boy and everyone is doing great! Bobby liked touching Max's toes and belly.

In other news, Robert turned the big 3-0 on Monday! We celebrated his birthday with a night out in staying at the Magnolia hotel. Happy birthday to a great husband and wonderful father!

We're Moving!

I can't belive it's been so long since I've updated! It's been a busy month!

We have decided that in order for our family to expand we needed to expand our home. So we put our house up for sale and accepted an offer in 9 days. So quick! We have been doing a lot of house hunting and not as much playing time, so no pictures to really add right now. Hopefully we'll find a new home soon and have lots of pictures to share!

More Snow!

So I didn't know that Texas was moved to the mid-west! Dallas had record snowfall yesterday and it stuck around for today. It was a beautiful day outside, the wind wasn't blowing and it was perfect for playing in the snow. Bobby LOVED to eat the snow and helped me build (or rather destroy) a snowman. We were even able to find real coal for the eyes!

Snow Day!

Can't believe it's snowing in Dallas, again! Although I did have to work today and it wasn't an official snow day, my co-workers & I decided we had to get out in the snow to play. We built a snowman and he turned out pretty cute! Other co-workers in the office posed for pictures with him and even dressed him up with Pizza Hut paraphernalia.

Mama!

Bobby finally said "mama"! No more calling me "Dadeee"! Last Thursday was such a great night when Bobby finally called me mama.

Over the weekend I decided I wanted to take some pictures of Bobby for Valentines day. He won't pose for me like he used to, but I think we still took some cute shots of Bobby in action.

On Superbowl Sunday we headed over to my brother's house to watch the big game and pig out on the taco & nacho bar that Bev set up. It was so yummy! It was a good game and Bobby had lots of fun playing with his cousins. I think he's ready for Marti Gras now!

New Pictures

Time is flying by, I can’t believe January has come and gone. I’ve uploaded some recent photos of Bobby from the end of the month. He is growing up so much! He is saying more words everyday, some of the favorites are block, truck, blue (for blueberries), juice, and of course Dadeee (which he calls both of us). He is moving up to the toddler side of his school this week. It’s really hit me that he’s not a baby anymore! He’s even starting to use the potty and loves building block towers.

I’ve also uploaded some pictures from Jenn’s baby shower; they are on the photo archives page. Bobby can’t wait for his new friend Max to arrive in March!

January Update

January has flown by! I can’t believe we’re already a month into 2010! I’ve added some pictures of Bobby from the past month. We’ve been hanging around and haven’t been up to much the past few weeks. We were so glad last weekend was nice and we were able to get Bobby to the park to try out his new tricycle and throw the frisbee with Dexter. Bobby loved being pushed around on his new wheels; however he’s not quite tall enough to reach the pedals yet.

It’s been a busy month of working for both Robert and In my free time I’ve been experimenting with my new scrapbooking software that Robert bought me for Christmas. So far I love it and I hope to have some pages to share soon. If you’re interested in digital scrapbooking I highly suggest checking out My Memories Suite.

Christmas 2009

We were so blessed this Christmas to spend the days with our family. On Christmas Eve Robert's mom came to celebrate with us. It's our tradition to open presents with Mom Anderson (Grandma) on Christmas Eve. We had a wonderful day playing and watching the snow fall. We couldn't believe we were going to have a White Christmas in Texas! Bobby loved spending time with Grandma and he had her playing with him all day! After dinner we opened presents and as always Bobby was a spoiled little boy (as were mom and dad). After presents we sat out cookies and milk for Santa.

On Christmas morning Bobby woke up to a snow still on the ground and Santa having visited. Santa brought Bobby a tricycle, Woody doll, art box with paints, and a thermos. After discovering what Santa brought, we made breakfast, got dressed, and headed over to Mimi's and Grand-dad's. We got there a few hours before the rest of the family so Bobby had lots of time to play with his grandparents. After everyone arrived we opened presents and had Christmas dinner. After dinner the kids put on a show with the musical instruments that Bobby received as gifts. It was quite a show!

We hope everyone had a wonderful (and safe) Christmas!

Getting ready for Christmas

We have been getting ready for Christmas at the house. Bobby is working on saying “Santa” and “Ho Ho Ho,” he only gets about two of them out, but it’s still cute. Bobby enjoys turning on the Christmas tree, looking at the ornaments, and laying under the tree to see the lights. This past weekend I came home to him having opened one of his presents! I told him we have to wait until Christmas to play with that and but it back.  As expected, he got really upset with me.

Over the weekend we were busy with lots of activities. We went to and looked at the lights, went on a carriage ride and saw the train display. Bobby loved the carriage ride and the horses. He was able to stand up the whole time and look out over the horses, he had such a great time! On Sunday we baked lots of cookies, Bobby enjoyed watching and even tried to use the cookie cutters a couple of times. We also enjoyed celebrating the season at our friends The Sharps Coco & Cookies party. Bobby got to play with his “girlfriend” Madison. They weren’t so sure of each other this time, but we got a great picture of Bobby giving a great big hug.

We wish your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Novemember Catch-up

I can’t believe November has come and gone and we’re already into December. Thanksgiving flew by and Christmas is only 21 days away! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebrating with Grandma Donna on Wednesday and then with my family on Thursday. Bobby enjoyed playing with his cousins and the Piltz girls Ashley & Emily.

Bobby is a growing little boy. He’s getting stronger and his personality is shinning more and more each day. We took him to see Santa Claus a couple weeks ago, and not surprisingly, he cried. He didn’t care too much for Santa this year. We were able to get one shot off without him crying. Maybe next year he’ll give Santa a little more love. Bobby loves to “help” with dinner. He gets out his stool and stands at the counter and bangs with all my kitchen utensils.

We wish everyone a wonderful Christmas!

Happy Halloween!

I can’t believe October has come and gone! We’ve had such a fun month with Bobby. We visited pumpkin patches, the Dallas Arboretum, and lots of Trick-or-Treating.

We made good use of Bobby’s Halloween costume this year! Robert took Bobby to the Fall Carnival at his school a couple of weeks ago. They had a great time playing games, swinging, and riding the train.  And Bobby drank from a glass for the first time, such a big boy! We also went to the Sharp’s Halloween party, Bobby & had a great time trying to hit the piñata and playing “Ring around the Rosie”.  It took Bobby & Madison a while to warm up to each other, but as you can see in the pictures, they were good friends again by the end of the evening.

Bobby did lots of Trick-or-Treating over Halloween weekend. Friday started off with kids trick-or-treating at my office. We also set up a Kid’s Corner where the kids played games, colored, and ate sweets. Friday night we met up with my brother’s family and my parents for the fall carnival at their church. All the kids had fun playing the games and riding the rides. Emma & Andrew especially enjoyed going down the BIG slide with Robert & Dave. On Saturday we took Bobby to Willow Bend mall for trick-or-treating at the stores and then the “Mad Scientist” show afterwards. We really enjoyed doing this with Bobby; it was a safe, fun, atmosphere and will probably continue to do this in the future. After the show Bobby and Andrew went running threw the mall holding hands. They have become such good buddies! Once we got home Bobby was ready to take off his costume. I don’t blame him, poor kid had been wearing it for almost 2 days! However, after he saw the kids coming to the door in their costumes he wanted his back on. Bobby enjoyed “helping” mommy and daddy hand out candy to all the trick-or-treators and eating his own candy. He loves suckers and smarties!

18 Months Old & Trip to Pumpkin Patch

Bobby turned 18 months old this past weekend. Can't believe he's getting so big! He had a check-up at the doctor and had a great report. I had concerns about Bobby's language development, but the doctor said he's doing OK. We should be hearing many more words in the next couple of months. But of course I wouldn't be a mom without worrying about something!

Bobby has been up to all sorts of new things. He loves to feed Dexter and Cooper, even though he misses the bowl about half the time. He also likes to help dust, or maybe it's just stealing the duster from mommy. He says please in sign language and will sometimes say it (sounds more like cheese). And loves to feed himself yogurt! He is also taking to grabbing our hand, finger, pant, or whatever he can get ahold of to lead us to what he wants. I like this a lot better than whining!!

On Saturday we ventured out in the chilly air to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. This is a great spot for some fall fun. And it's all free (unless you want to buy a pumpkin or have a corny dog). We were joined by our friends The Sharps and my brothers family. The pumpkin patch featured wood cut outs of just about every character you can imagine, train ride, hay maze, and of course a big pumpkin patch. It was a fun afternoon. Afterwards we met up with Mimi, Grand-dad and cousin Kevin for dinner. It was a fun wet and muddy weekend!

Florida Trip

This year we tagged along with my brother’s family for their annual trip. We rented a condo on the beach with David & Bev and their 2 kids and my parents. We stayed in the Perdido Key area, which is in . The condo was wonderful and it had a beautiful view of the beach and gulf. We had a blast hanging out with the family, cooking dinners (or eating at the Shrimp Basket), playing games, napping, reading, and letting the kids play.

We had surprisingly great weather (it was predicted to rain everyday). We were able to get out on the beach at least once each day, the one day it rained all morning/afternoon we headed to the . This museum had great exhibits and lots of planes that you could sit in, and another great feature is that the museum is free. I recommend going if you’re ever in that area. After several of the rain storms we were able to spot rainbows, I’ve never seen so many rainbows in one week!

Bobby did great on the trip. He loved playing in the sand with his bucket and shovel and “borrowing” some of Emma & Andrew’s toys. He enjoyed it when Robert and I would take him out into the water and the waves would splash him. We also spent time at the pool and started teaching Bobby how to “jump” into the water. He is becoming such an independent little boy, especially after watching Emma & Andrew all week.

It was a wonderful trip that of course ended too soon. We hope to be able to go again soon! I would love to spend our family vacation on the beach each year!

Visit to Colorado

Over Labor Day weekend we visited Robert’s Dad and Stepmom in Denver. We had lots of fun visiting with family, playing games, and seeing the area. Bobby loved to play with Grandpa and Grammy and show them all his tricks (like picking up his toys). On Friday Nikole brought over her new puppy "Rocka". She was so sweet and gentle and gave Bobby lots of puppy kisses. On Saturday night Bob & Jan had the whole family over for our annual BBQ (which we actually got to have outside!). Everyone had fun eating, tossing the football, and playing poker. Bobby enjoyed playing with his cousins Lauren, Aiden, and Ashton (even if the boys didn’t want to play with him at first). On Sunday we took a trip to Breckenridge (no flat tires this time) and enjoyed walking through the shops and looking at the scenery. The weather was beautiful and there were lots of patrons out with their dogs, Bobby would squeal and shout “dog” every time one would pass us by. On Monday we headed to the state capitol building and took a picture on the steps above the “one mile above sea level” marker, which has been moved several times. Monday was also “Taste of Colorado” and the city was having a big street fair in front of the capitol. It was a wonderful trip and hope to see the family again soon!

Updated Pictures

Just a quick update on pictures. I added some new pictures of Bobby and from the surprise party Robert threw for me. I'm so lucky to have Robert as a husband!

Lazy Summer Days

The Anderson family hasn't been up to much these days. Robert and I have both been busy at work so we're just trying to take some down time on the weekends. Robert starts his new position at AT&T today as a Senior Marketing Manager in Direct Marketing. He's very excited to continue growing his career at AT&T and looking forward to new job duties. Bobby starts his transition to his new classroom today and has "Splash Day" for the first time. Instead of going to the splash park, the past couple weeks we set up a splash park in our own backyard. However, Bobby was more intersted in playing in his car. So Robert and I enjoyed laying in the cool water while Bobby ran around the yard.

We are on countdown to our trips to Colorado and Florida. Septemeber is going to be a fun and crazy month!

I've uploaded new pictures into the slideshow. Enjoy!

Past Few Weeks

We've been a busy family the past couple weeks just playing with friends and family. We visited the Frisco Aquatic Center for the first time. Bobby loved to float down the lazy river and splash around in the park. We had surprise parties and swim dates, dinners with the family, and lots of play time at home. Bobby just loves to play and be a boy! He's also "jibber jabbering" a lot!! Hopefully some words are soon to follow. As long as the word is not "No!" :)

15 Month Check-up and trip to Zoo

This past week Bobby turned 15 months and he has been growing very fast! He had his 15 month check-up on Friday and the doctor said he looked great! Weight: 25lb, 6oz (63% percentile), Height: 31in (46% percentile).

This weekend was also mine and Robert’s 6th wedding anniversary. The time has flown by! I’m so lucky to have him as my husband and I couldn’t ask for a better father. To celebrate on Sunday we took Bobby to the Dallas Zoo. We got there early to beat the heat and the crowds. Bobby liked watching all the animals and had a great time riding in the wagon, he wanted to ride more than walk which I was very surprised by. Bobby especially loved the reptile area. I think it was because the animals moved around a bunch and he could get closer to them and see better. This is what I’m hoping anyways because I’m not going to have any reptiles in my house!

4th of July Part 2

We had such a great time celebrating the 4th of July I had to do another entry about the day. We started off in the morning taking Bobby to the play center at Willow Bend, it was such a hot day outside we needed to do something inside for a while. He loved climbing on everything and watching all the other kids. (I posted a video of him playing in the videos section.)

After naptime we headed over to Dave & Bev’s for a BBQ and to play. They had set up the giant slide and all the kids had a great time playing (even Bobby enjoyed it this time). Bobby loved playing with his cousins and had lots of hugs and kisses for them! There was lots of yummy food and everyone chowed down after all the playing, we couldn’t get Bobby to stop eating! After the sun went down, we headed back out doors and we played with sparklers. The kids were a little nervous at first, but ended up loving them! Once we had all the sparkler fun we could handle we woke Bobby up and headed out to watch the Frisco Fireworks. We had a long wait for the show to get started, but all the kids loved the dessert picnic while waiting. Bobby loved the fireworks once they started and didn’t get scared at all. That’s my boy!

It was such a fun day and we look forward to the real pool party next year.

Happy 4th of July

This weekend we celebrate America's Independence. One of my favorite holidays! I love to watch the fireworks and BBQ with friends and family. I hope this year Bobby can stay up to watch the fireworks!

The past couple of weeks we have been enjoying playing with Bobby at home and around town. He has grown quite attached to Teddy and Hippo!

Enjoy the pictures of Bobby playing with bubbles, his stuffed animals, and riding on his new tricycle!

Growing by leaps and bounds

Bobby has been growing and exploring these past few weeks so I thought I'd give an update. Last week I went through his closet and put a lot of his clothes in storage bins because he's been growing so fast. Both in length and width (love that baby belly!).

Bobby now has a total of 9 teeth and a couple more that are soon to come in. He like’s to think he’s a big boy and wants a whole half of a sandwich at one time, instead of us cutting it into bite size pieces, so we have been working with him on how to tear his food with his front teeth. We’re also working with him on using a spoon and a fork. He loves to dip his spoon in his yogurt himself!

He is now giving kisses, which I just love! Last week he was blowing kisses (just making the smack noise) and now he actually leans in to give a kiss. I’ve been waiting for this one! He loves the song Head, Shoulders, Knees, and toes and last week started grabbing his head and toes (still working on the other body parts). This weekend we went to dinner with Grandma Anderson and she and Bobby colored on the placemats. This is the first time he actually colored with the crayons instead of eating them. I'm very excited to have some artwork to hang on the fridge soon!

Bobby has said 5 words now: Mama, Dada, Done, Duck, and Cat (or as far as we can tell this is what he’s said). He likes to say “done” when he’s done eating, bathing, or just about done with anything. As he says "done" he puts his arms out to the side, it's a whole show.  He said “duck” the other night in the bath when he was playing with one of his ducks. And just this morning he said “cat” when he saw Cooper. After he said it he started chasing Cooper around the house to try and hug him, laughing the whole time. Bobby loves to be chased and to chase after anything. He thinks it’s the greatest!!

That’s about all the updates for now. His personality is really shinning these days! Here’s some pictures from playing in the backyard this weekend.

Possum Kingdom

Over this past weekend our family took a road trip to Possum Kingdom Lake with our friends Matt & Christine and their daughter Madison. It was a much needed and restful getaway! The weather was beautiful and we were able to spend most of our time outdoors. The cabins we rented at Bailey’s Crystal Bay were very nice and clean, I was extremely impressed! We each took a half day on Friday and headed out to the lake in the afternoon, arriving just in time to fire up the grill for dinner. The kids had a great time playing on the porch and running around, while Christine and I chased after them trying to make sure they didn’t hurt themselves. Bobby was all over the place and enjoyed climbing up and down the stairs in front of the cabins.

We took Matt & Christine’s boat out most of the day on Saturday, docking at a restaurant for lunch where we had onion rings and sandwiches. We then headed back out and dropped anchor in the “Hell’s Gate” area to float/swim around. We put Bobby in the water, but he did not like it very much, I think it was still a little cold for him. After soaking up the sun we decided to tube for a bit. First were the girls and I have to say we did pretty good (I only fell off 3 times, but it was my first time ever trying!). Then Christine took over the driving and the boys got on the tube. We tried so hard to throw them off, but they were too strong for us. That evening we fired up the grill again and made S’mores. I gave Bobby a taste and he LOVED them. He was very upset when I wouldn’t give him more.

On Sunday we took the boat out again and dropped anchor in “The Cliffs” area. The houses in this area were beautiful! It was an overcast day so we packed lunches and ate on the boat. We headed back to shore early so we could get started back home.

On the way home we stopped by Brooke and Wes’s new house outside of Jacksboro to say hello. Their new place will be great once they get all settled in. Right now they have 2 horses on their land and we took Bobby outside to see them. He wasn’t so sure about them at first but warmed up once “Aunt Brooke” took him over to see them.

Water Galore!

This weekend we were all about the water! On Saturday we celebrated my nephew Andrew's 2nd birthday with a beach themed party at my brother and sister-in-laws. Bev set up water slides, baby pools, sprinklers, beach balls, and of course had a sand bucket cake (Bev is so creative)! We all had a good time and enjoyed one of the first rain free weekends in almost 2 months! Bobby's cousin Kevin really enjoyed the big water slide and showing off how big of a splash he could make. Bobby on the other hand didn't enjoy the water so much. He did not want to get near it and cried when we put him in the pool. Everyone tried to get him to enjoy it, even Andrew! He did have a great time running around the rest of the yard and having Grammy feed him cake!

After Andrew's birthday party, Robert and I had a couple's wedding shower/BBQ to attend for our friends D'Ann and Trent. It was a fun time hanging out with old friends and meeting some new people too. Can't wait until the wedding!

But my pursuit to make Bobby into a water loving boy was not over for the weekend. On Sunday we had plans to go to a splash park with our friend Tina and her girls Maddie and Megan. I wasn't going to cancel just because Bobby didn't like the water the day before, and I'm glad I didn't! When we first got to the park and got Bobby into the water he acted like he did the day before, crying and holding tightly to Mommy and Daddy. But Robert kept splashing him and taking him into the sprinklers and it wasn't long before we had him playing and laughing. He had a great time chasing after beach balls, trying to "grab" the water, and playing with his new bucket (courtesy of Andrew's birthday party). We had a wet and wonderful time playing at what I'm sure will soon become a favorite spot. After playing in the water we had a picnic lunch and then onto the playground again. After dinner it was time for a good old summer favorite, Double Dip! We decided to call Grammy and Grand-daddy to see if they would meet us for Double Dip. Bobby had a great time playing on the benches, and of course being fed custard from everyone.  It was a great day and we can't wait to do it again!

Update

It's been a while since I've updated the site with our happenings. Things have been busy as usual, but with the rainy Texas weather it's been hard to get out and play with my boys. Bobby has been a very busy boy. He cut his seventh tooth this past weekend, and it's his first molar too. He has 2 more that will be coming in (hopefully) soon.  Bobby has also started to point at certain objects when asked (Mommy, Daddy, Fan), we're working on nose. He also likes to "help" put on his shoes and try to use a fork at meal time. Bobby loves anything dairy! He gets very excited when he sees milk, yogurt, cheese, or ice cream. He's going to have some strong bones!

Bobby spent some time last week at Aunt Bev's and Uncle Dave's and played with his cousins. He loved playing outside with Emma & Andrew, especially be swung around on the tire swing. He's our little Dare Devil.

This past weekend I took some pictures of him playing around the house. He is very excited that he can now climb onto his lion, next he needs to learn how to push himself with his feet or I'm going to have a bad back. On Monday we went to the Farmer's Market in Dallas and played at a park near Turtle Creek. Robert and I found our retirement home there too (see picture below). :) Bobby discovered sticks and leaves at the park and he thought they were just the coolest!!

Mother's Day Weekend

This past weekend we celebrated Mother's Day with our family. On Saturday my sister-in-law, Bev, arranged for the ladies in the family to have tea at Patti's Place in Plano. Unfortunately, when I got there Bev informed me that when mom went to pick up Nana she fell answering the door. Cindi, Bev, Emma and I stayed for tea (which was wonderful) and then called to check on Nana. We found out that Nana broke her hip and was at the ER. She will have to have surgery and it will be a long recovery. Emma was such a good girl for our tea time. She loved the scones and the cheese cut into tea kettle shapes, and she even drank tea with milk and sugar.

On Sunday, Robert took his mom, Bobby, and I out to brunch in Allen. We went to Woodlands Grill in the new Watters Creek shopping center. We had waffles and omelets, and Bobby ate as fast as his little hands could shovel! After brunch we visited Nana at the hospital and brought her and my mom flowers. Hopefully we'll be able to celebrate Mother's Day with them soon once Nana is released from the hospital and rehab.

Family Pictures

Our new family pictures are here! We took them a few weeks ago at the Warren Sports Complex in Frisco, TX. The day started off wet and dreary so we moved our pictures from the morning to the afternoon. Luckily the rain stopped and the sun even started to shine through. It was quite glarey outside, thus why I'm squinting in several pictures. We had a tough time getting Bobby to corporate and get a good family shot. He wanted to play with our photographer and walk around and play, which is why you'll see in several pictures his teddy bear. All in all, I think we got some good photos of the family!

1 Year Check-up

It's been a while since I've updated! I've been busy getting adjusted to my new schedule with me going back to work, which is going very well.

Bobby had his 1 year check-up last week. He is 23lb 2oz (51%) and 29.5 inches long (34%). He's a growing boy! The check-up went very well. Bobby enjoyed playing in the office and then the Dr. Kaplan came in and he wasn't so happy anymore. Poor Dr. Kaplan said "Ohh, it's that time already." But by the end of the appointment Dr. Kaplan had him smiling! Then the nurses came in with the shots. He didn't like that at all! Bobby is trying to cut several teeth and we're praying that they come in soon!

We didn't do too much over the weekend, so no picture updates. We had breakfast with Grammy & Granddad on Saturday, and then Grandma came over to watch Bobby so Robert and I could have a date night! On Sunday, Robert got some bonding time with Bobby while I went to a wedding shower. I think we're going to try to head to Ennis this weekend to see the Bluebonnets!

Easter

Today we went over to my brother and sister-in-laws for Easter dinner and games with the family and some friends. It started out as a rainy morning, but by the time we all gathered the sun was starting to shine. The kids all enjoyed hunting for eggs and eating their finds. Bobby wasn't too interested in hunting for eggs, he liked to watch everyone else and wanted to play with all of Emma and Andrew's toys. We had LOTS of food and fun!

Arboretum & Birthday Dinner

Yesterday Bobby and I went with his Aunt Bev and cousins Emma and Andrew to the Dallas Arboretum for the Eddie Coker concert. It was a little chilly outside (especially for me because I forgot my jacket!), but as the afternoon went on we all warmed up. The kids enjoyed running around the Storybook Playhouses and dancing to the music. We took picnic lunches with us to eat while we listened to the concert and after lunch Bobby took a nice snooze while Emma & Andrew played (and ran through the flowers). Once Bobby woke up, we found a nice place to play and take more pictures. It was great to spend time with the family and to run and play in the sunshine!

And did I mention that Friday was officially Bobby's first birthday?! Can't believe my baby is already one. Feels like yesterday we were in the hospital. Time really does fly once you have kids! Even though we had Bobby's first birthday party last weekend, I still wanted to do something to celebrate the actual day with him. We decided to take him to Gatti Town (pizza buffet and games) and invite the family and our friends the Laumer's to come with us. We all had a good time and Bobby enjoyed some of the rides.

What a wonderful year it has been with Bobby. Can't wait to see how he grows and changes over the next year, and the next, etc!

Bobby's First Birthday Party

We had Bobby's first birthday party this past Saturday (even though he's not technically one until the 10th). It turned out so good. Everyone had a great time and the weather turned out to be very nice (I was quite worried when I woke up to clouds and mist). We invited family and friends over to celebrate the occasion with a cook-out in our backyard. Robert and I were both impressed on how big our backyard actually is. All the kids enjoyed playing with Bobby's new toys (house, car, slide, and wagon) and they all got along very well. Bobby really enjoyed his birthday cake too! I was so proud of my little boy that he "smashed" right into his cake and had icing everywhere! I thought we were going to have to get out the hose to wash him down, luckily a package of wipes took care of it. After lunch and cake we move the party inside to open presents. Bobby is one loved and lucky boy and was showered with gifts from our guests. He's already having so much fun playing with all his new toys. Of course a party isn't a party without someone getting hurt. My niece, Emma, was playing outside and ran smack into the grill and cut a gash into her head. Luckily no stitches and she should be OK in a few days. I'm sure Bobby will give her lots of hugs to help her feel better!  All in all, I think it went very well!

Today we went out hunting for bluebonnets, and luckily found some just down the street from us. However, we did drive around the metroplex before looking in our own area! We took some cute pictures, but it was a VERY windy day and will have to go back when more flowers bloom.

Easter Bunny

Today Bobby went to have his picture made with the Easter Bunny for the first time, and of course he did great! No crying or being scared, he laughed and smiled perfectly for the camera. After having his picture made we had lunch with Daddy and played at the play center at Willow Bend. It was nice to see Daddy during the middle of the day!

On another note, I got a job! I will be starting on Monday as an Account Executive on the Pizza Hut print account at SWJ in Plano. I'm excited about a new position, but sad about having to take my boy back to school. I'm very grateful that I had some time to spend with him these past few months.

We also won "Yard of the Month" for our HOA. I was very surprised and when they knocked on our door to say we won I said "really?!" I guess all of our planting last weekend did some good! And Robert has been doing a great job taking care of the lawn this year.

Day Out with Thomas the Train

This weekend we met some friends of ours, The Anderson's, for a "Day Out with Thomas the Train". We rode the train in Grapevine and looked at some cool train displays (and did a little shopping on Main Street too!). Bobby showed how much of a good boy he was and gave hugs to all, even baby Avery. My little boy is such a cuddlier! After the train ride we all went to dinner at PF Changs, yummy! For a long day and late night all the kids did great!!

This past week Bobby got his first big boy chair, an early gift from Grandma Anderson. He loves to sit (or stand) in his chair and play and eat snacks. It's the first thing he goes for and he doesn't want to be taken out of it! He's now trying to climb from it to the ottoman. I'll think he'll be trying to climb everything soon.

Busy Week!

It has been a busy week! This past weekend we went to our friends daughters 1st b-day party. We had fun celebrating the special occasion with our friend's the Sharp's, and of course Bobby loved playing with his "girlfriend" Madison.  That evening our friends, the Laumer's, came over for dinner, we thought they were going to move in!! Robert and I kept their 2 daughter's (Maddie 3 years and Megan 3 months) while they went on vacation Sunday-Wednesday. We had a great time with the girls and discovered what it would be like to be parent's of multiple children. I think we could handle it!

On Tuesday, Bobby and I met Aunt Bev, Cousin Emma & Andrew at the mall for some playtime. Bobby loved playing with his cousins and watching all the kids run around. We're so grateful that we have family close by and the kids can grow up together. Wednesday we met my friend Emily for lunch and a little shopping. Bobby wished she could have brought her daughter Kendall along with her!

Bobby is now over 11 months old and is shooting up in height. He grew an inch in the last month. He is starting to walk and takes more steps every day. He loves getting into things, especially the cabinets, as you can see in the pictures.  I caught him getting into my "lady things" the other day too. We've been introducing milk into his diet, but he is not going for it so far. He throws his cup across the room! We'll just have to keep trying :)  Overall he's a very happy growing boy!!

Playing in the cabinet

Bobby has found a new favorite play place, mommy's kitchen cabinet. I finally cleaned out a cabinet and put only non-breakables in it. Bobby has been having a blast getting everything out and opening and shutting the door. He's even crawled into the cabinet to play! His little boy personality is really coming out!

First Haircut

Bobby got his first haircut this weekend. He looks like such a little boy now. It was getting really long (and Robert wouldn't let me grow out his hair long) so I decided to have it cut. We went to Snip-Its in Plano. They did a good job, the place is very colorful and lively! The nice thing was they had chairs especially made for kids so Bobby was able to sit in the chair by himself. He did very well with having his haircut, hardly any fussing. He was so cute under the smock with just his head popping through. And yes, I saved a lock of his hair. :)

Play time!

It's been a while since I've updated the site! Since I have been home with Bobby things have been crazy! I'm enjoying lots of playtime with Bobby and have taken several pictures of our afternoons together. We've had lots of fun going on walks, playing with toys, reading books, and singing songs. Bobby now has 4 teeth and I think he's working on some more, lots of drool lately! His favorite things are crawling under the kitchen table, playing with kitchen utensils, walking with his Lion, and playing with his Little People Farm.  He's getting to be so big, he's already 23 pounds! He loves to eat and try new things!

Beautiful Weekend

Wow! What a beautiful January weekend in Texas. The saying is true for Texas, if you don't like the weather just wait 5 minutes. This week started off cold and icy and the weekend ended up being around 70 degree's and sunny. With that kind of weather we couldn't stay inside!

Yesterday we went to the walking trail by our house and threw the Frisbee with Dexter and let Bobby crawl around in the grass. He liked to eat it! We had so much fun running around and taking pictures (over 700!). Then today we had to get outside and take a walk around the neighborhood.

I wish every weekend could be this beautiful!

Weekend in Austin

This past weekend was the first time that Robert and I left Bobby behind. I was surprisingly OK with it! Bobby stayed with Grammy & Grand-daddy (my parents) and we headed to Austin for my A-Phi sister Sarah's wedding. I was very proud of my self that I didn't call to check on him, I only texted :).  I think the time away was needed and we all had a great time. It was fun to hang out with our friends and kick back!

Bobby 9 Month Check-up

I can't believe Bobby is already 9 months old!! The time has flown by! He had his 9 month check-up on Friday and the Doc. gave him a great report! He's 20 lb 12 oz and 28.5 inches long. He's our growing boy! We're already having to switch him to a bigger car seat!

Bobby has 3 teeth now. A new one keeps popping up each week. And he's finally enjoying his bath again. Thank goodness!! He is cruising all over the house moving from one furniture piece to the next (or to mommy's legs). This week we got to have dinner with Grandpa! We were very excited we got to see him while he was in town for a business meeting. Bobby wishes he (and Grammy Jan) would come back soon!

We have so much fun as a family every day and Robert and I just can't believe how much we LOVE this little boy! And love sharing our family fun with our friends and family. Enjoy the pictures!

First Hooters Trip

Today the family ventured to Hooters for lunch. If you know me, you know I am not a fan of Hooters, not because of the girls or the name of the restaurant, but just because I don't care for the food. So you know if I went to Hooters it had to be for a good reason. And it was! One of my friends mentioned to me a while back that the Hooters waitresses will take a picture with your baby if you bring him in and ask. So I did! For some reason I just had to have a picture of Bobby with the Hooters girls. I have to say, all the waitresses LOVED him and thought he was the cutest baby (I tend to agree)! So we got our picture and had lunch. As a side note, my cobb salad was quite tasty. :)

Bobby's First Christmas

Bobby's first Christmas has come and gone, and it was a blast! Bobby got his "Christmas Wish", his first tooth popped through on Christmas Eve Day and today the 2nd tooth showed up. Those things are sharp! I discovered the first one because he bit me! I am happy to say, for Bobby teething so far hasn't been too bad.

Christmas Eve, as tradition, is spent with Robert's Mom. I cooked dinner, we opened presents, and then went to look at lights. As always, Grandma Anderson was very generous and Bobby got lots of great toys! He has been having lots of fun playing with them all. Of course while opening presents he was more interested in the bows than anything else.

Christmas Day was spent with the Womack family. We opened presents and had dinner at my parents and played games afterwards. All the kids had a lot of fun opening presents and playing with each other. Cousin Andrew was very excited that he can give Bobby hugs and loves to tackle him. I was happy to see that Bobby didn't cry once when Andrew "got 'em".  I think they'll be great friends and cousins! On Friday we did it all again so that Cousin Kevin could join in on the fun and take our traditional family photo.

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and hope to see you soon in the New Year!!

8 Months

Wow! I can't believe it's been 8 months since my precious little boy was born. Time has flown and we've been having lots of fun. Bobby is crawling all over the house and discovering all sorts of new things (like the dog food and water bowl!) and he's pulling up on anything he can (including my legs).  Luckily we were proactive in baby proofing our house.

This past weekend our family went to the Little Elm Christmas Tree Lighting. Unfortunately, it got pretty cold outside so we left before the town lit the tree, but we got some cute pictures in the day light. On Sunday we went to Grapevine and rode the Grapevine Vintage Railroad with our friends Matt & Christine and their daughter Maddison. We all had a great time and even got to see Santa! I can't wait for Christmas this year! I'm sure Bobby will have more fun ripping the paper off the presents I just wrapped than playing with the toys (or clothes) that we purchased, but it will still be lots of fun. You only have so many firsts!

Happy Holidays! Enjoy Bobby's 7-8 Month Pictures!

First Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We spent this year's Thanksgiving at our house and invited the family over. It was the first time I cooked a Turkey so I was a little nervous that everything would turn out OK, and it did! Everything tasted great and we all had a good time. Bobby wore his First Thanksgiving bib that Jenn gave him and his Thanksgiving onesie, he was a cutie! After lunch we watched the Cowboys game (Go Boys!) and had pie and coffee. It was lots of fun hanging out with the family. Friday and Saturday we did lots of shopping for Christmas presents! Robert and I got ourselves an early present...a new SLR camera. Robert has been having a lot of fun playing with it, so there might be more pictures than usual, it's so hard to pick which one's to send! We hope everyone has a great holiday season!

Visiting Santa

This weekend we went to visit Santa at Willow Bend mall. I thought Bobby was going to flip out when we sat him on Santa's lap, but he was awesome! He was very intrigued by Santa's beard and smiled and laughed for the camera! We brought my parents along to take some pictures of us at the Snow Globe Village and then all went to lunch. You'll have to wait to see the pictures of Bobby with Santa until we send our Christmas cards. Here's a tease of with a picture of all of us on Saturday.

Trip to Denver

We just had our first family trip to Denver to visit Robert's Dad and Step-mom Jan. We had a lot of fun! Bobby did so great on the plane too! On the way to Denver we heard all sorts of grunts as we were walking to our seat on the plane. But Bobby showed them all what a great boy he is! He slept the first of the plane ride and then played quietly the other half. I just wanted to stick my tongue out at the guys who were making comments to us when I got off the plane.

Unfortunately, Bobby was sick most of the weekend. But he is such a good baby and hung in there for the most part. Thursday night Bobby started pulling up on a chair. It's the first time he's stood all the way up, we were very excited! Although, now all he wants to do is pull up on anything in site!! On Saturday Bobby met his Aunt Nikole, Uncle Erik, Aunt Lisa, and cousins Lauren, Ashton, and Aiden. Lauren LOVED playing with Bobby and he liked playing with her too. We had a fun poker night and early Thanksgiving feast. I even snuck in some of Bev's famous cheese rolls (since it was our Thanksgiving celebration!).  On Sunday we headed up into the mountains. It was a beautiful ride up, however we ended up getting a flat tire about 10 miles outside Breckenridge so we grabbed lunch and turned back around to Denver. While at lunch Bobby had his first lemon. We had the camera set to take a picture of a sour face, but it didn't happen. Bobby actualy liked the lemon! Maybe he'll be one of those kids who will eat a whole lemon. On Monday we headed back to Dallas. It was a great trip and we can't wait to visit again soon! Enjoy the pics!

Halloween Weekend

Bobby's first Halloween was full of lots of trick-or-treating and fun! Apparently Bobby's costume could be lots of things, he got called a Monster, Dragon, Dinosaur, Alligator, and Frog...it was suppoused to be a monster. :) We started off on Thursday going to Robert's work for trick-or-treating. We had lots of fun with Robert's co-workers and their families. On Friday, Bobby and I went to my work and joined my co-workers who had brought their kids up too. Bobby had lots of fun playing with everyone! Friday night we went to "Family Fun Fest" with my brother and his family and their church.  We had a good time watching Emma play games and ride the rides. Robert even went down the gigantic slide with her. Saturday we went to a friends son's 2nd birthday party which all the kids dressed up for. Bobby got in his first bounce house (of course without any other kids in it) and sat in my lap while we bounced. He loved it! We're off to Denver tomorrow and will have lots of fun stories!

Bobby's New Moves

My little boy is growing up! Bobby is now well into the second week in his new classroom at school and things are going GREAT! He has been such a happy boy when he gets home and loves to play. I love that he is now reaching out for me and gives me a "hug". I can just tell that he loves both Robert and I. It's such a wonderful special feeling! Bobby is now eating 3 meals a day. He loves his food and gobbles down everything that we give him. He's having lots of fun with the teething biscuits too...although they are a mess to clean up. I have learned this is a high chair only snack!

Bobby is also starting to pull up now! Time to start baby proofing!! We lowered his crib down this week (maybe a little over board for now, but better safe than sorry) and are trying to get him to stand holding on to things. He LOVES to walk while holding your hands. He's going to be one active little boy!

6 Month Check-up

Bobby had his 6 month check-up last week. He now weighs 17 lbs 11 oz and is 26 in long. He's our growing boy! He had to get 4 shots including his first flu shot, he did not like them at all! Bobby is still trying to crawl, just scooting on his belly for now. I think he'll get the hang of it over the next month. He's also up to eating 3 meals a day! He LOVES food! Bobby also caught his first cold over the weekend. He has pink eye and an upper respiratory infection. I'm so grateful that he's a happy boy and doesn't let it bother him!!

We've been a very busy family as usual with a trip to the Dallas Arboretum with our friends The Anderson's, a day at the zoo and family pictures. Check out the album archive to see some pictures.

Next month we're off to Denver for Bobby's first trip to Grandpa's!

Sad it's Monday

What a wonderful weekend I had with my boys! But first I have to start of by saying Bobby crawled forward on Thursday at school! He hasn't done it since, but it's a start. I'm excited but sad at the same time, my little boy is growing up!

Friday night I took Bobby and met some of my family for dinner. I was so impressed on how well Bobby did! It was a late night for him. Then we woke up early Saturday morning to take the Womack Family pics. We needed some new ones, last time we had it done was almost 7 years ago. We've had lots of new additions to the family since then!

After the pics we went to the Dallas Zoo with the Womack's (Dave, Bev, Emma, & Andrew) and the Jorgensen's (Cindi & Kevin). We had a blast seeing all the animals and hanging out with the family. Needless to say, we were pooped at the end of the day! Bobby was such a good boy all day and loved being carried around all day by Mommy & Daddy and enjoyed seeing all the animals. I loved describing all the animals to him. I know he won't remember the day, but it will be one that I cherish for a long time.

I'll post pictures soon (we took over 600 just at the zoo!)

5 Months & on the move

I can't believe how time is flying by! Bobby turned 5 months last weeks (as I turned 29!). He is weighing in at 17.4 lbs and 27 in. long. He's a big boy! Robert and I just love to look at his sweet face and sneak in at night to watch him sleeping.

Bobby is hitting all sorts of "milestones" lately. He has really started to enjoy eating and has tried a lot of foods. He seems to like it all so far, even prunes! I love trying out new foods with him and watching his face as he discovers new tastes and textures. Bobby is rolling around all over the floor to get to the places he wants to go now. He's even starting to "creep" backwards and I think he'll start crawling forward in the next couple of weeks. We've been taking lots of video so I hope to get that edited and posted soon!

This weekend we have the Womack Family pictures and a trip to the zoo. I'm sure we'll have lots of fun stuff to post after we return.

What a busy couple weeks!

Wow, have we had a busy couple weeks. August has been a party month! We have been to birthday parties, baby & wedding showers, pool parties, and lots of fun at home too. Last week Bobby had to go to the doctor for his first sick visit...he had scabies. No fun for the whole family! But we all survived and Bobby had the best attitude through it all.

Bobby had his first laugh this month. It was so precious. We keep trying everything we can think of for him to laugh at us...it's all worth the effort to hear those few giggles. He has also started sitting when we prop him up, it only lasts a few seconds, but it's a start! Bobby is loving tummy time now too! He scoots backwards on his tummy while we try to get him to move forward. Robert and I also walked in on him sleeping on his belly! We were worried at first, but the doctor said he would be OK when he started to do this. We will put him to bed on his back at one end of the crib and an hour later he'll be on his stomach at the other end of the crib facing the other way. It's amazing how much he moves (and drools!) in his sleep.

We can't to see what adventures September brings!

Thought it would be a good night with the Boys...

So last night my Jenny went out with the girls for dinner. The entire day, I was excited to pick up Bobby and have a great boys night at home. I had visions of him eating his cereal without fussing, taking his whole bottle, playing with his toys, a nice calm bath time, and then putting him down to bed.

Much to my dismay , Bobby didnt agree with my vision for a nice night. We got home, and Bobby immediately started crying. Because he was upset, I decided to skip the cereal and give him a bottle. Bobby had other ideas...

He didnt want to be held laying down (no suprise there he loves to stand). The bad part, he didnt want to stand either. I tried everything I could think of. Changed him, rocked him, put him in the swing, the bouncy seat, the exersaucer. Of course, the phone starts ringing so Mommy could check on her boys, which got the dog riled up.

Finally, Bobby decided that if I held him up against my shoulder, while alternating between patting and rubbing his back, he was content enough to stop cyring. Ah ha, my opportunity! Wrong again. The second I moved him into a laying position to eat, the waterworks started up again.

The next part really shows how much Bobby loves his Mommy. When Jenny made it home, she offered to try and feed him. He took the rest of the bottle with no problems, and went straight to sleep. She was even kind enough to let me take a break from the crying and just chill on the couch for a few minutes.

Sometimes it can be really hard when you are unable to discipher what is wrong with your baby, and can drive you to the brink of insanity. The good news... this morning when he woke up, one of the first things he did was give me a big smile :) That toothless grin can melt any heart and make hours of screaming well worth while.

What did I learn from this? I still havent figured out how to get him calm if he wants his Mommy, but I have been reassured that he does love me and when he is full and rested we can play and have fun. I cant wait until this weekend, when Bobby, Mommy and I can hang out together and have lots of fun!

Thank you for being such a good Mommy Jennifer. I dont know what Bobby and I would do without you.

Dallas World Aquarium

Saturday was a great day for our family. We went to the Dallas World Aquarium with our friends Jared, Heather, and their son Parker. It was amazing to see how fascinated Bobby was, not of the fish but the sparkly water making the light dance on the surface. I think he stared at every square inch of water at the aquarium. He might have even seen a fish or two as well… I guess only Bobby knows.
The Anderson's

It is truly amazing to see the world through your child’s eyes. The smallest things are absolutely fascinating. “Wow, look at this hand!!! It’s so cool!!!” We are truly two of the most blessed people in the world.

We can’t wait to see what he discovers next.

Bobby's 4 Month Checkup

Bobby just hit the 4 month mark, so that means time to the Doctor for a check-up and shots. Bobby now weighs 15lbs 2 oz and is 24.75 in. long. He's a growing boy! Bobby did not like his shots at all and got his first "cranky/sad" on his paper from school.

Doctor said we could start Bobby on rice cereal and move to food. We can't wait to expierence this with Bobby...lots of new textures and flavors! I'm sure we'll have some great pics to post from his feedings!

As you can see, he is starting to sit up and has discovered his toes. He giggles all the time at his goofy daddy and loves spending time with his mommy.

What a cutie!!!!  I'm so happy he had his first laugh!  I can't wait to hear it in person!  Jenny, that is the best picture of you and Bobby, it's like a pic from a magazine!!  Give Bobby a big hug and kiss from Aunt Jenn!!  I love you!
