Wedding1

Sleepover
We counted 11 people sleeping at Jamie and Sarah's 2 bedroom apartment. Here are about 5 of them.
BTW, how do you like their wedding gift?

Grands
Grandma and Grandpa Roach, Sis and me

Goody
Goody, after flying all the way from the east coast to be at Jamie's wedding had a little "adventure" the night before that involved a front tooth and a chin operation. Liz took care of the chin and the guys were up and at 'em this morning to get the tooth repaired.
Somehow Goody got stuck holding back the Mom of the Bride's killer dog.

Inlaws
Dale and Tammie, parents of the bride, and us.

Mom and Groom
At the hotel before the wedding

Father and Groom
Jamie and Sarah thought the bow tie would be funny. Can you see me laughing?

Mom, Dad and Groom

Mom and Bride
immediately after the wedding they let the families get together alone for a few minutes.

Me and my sis
Diane flew in from Vegas.
And as it turned out, we and the Jacks gave Jamie and Sarah a Vegas honeymoon and Diane has been their guide and companion.

Bridal Party
This is Sarah and here bridesmaids.

Not for me
This was the photographers idea. The guys are checking out the girl while the groom refuses to look.
The girl is Katie and her betrothed is Joel who is on the far right.

Grooms party
From left
Matt, Sarah's brother
Thomas, best man
Goody, who Jamie met in the marketing business
Shane, who lived across the hall from Jamie as a freshman in college
Joel, also from the marketing company.
I don't know what it was but something about the struggles in that marketing company created some strong ties!

You know who
Virginia Creeper Bike Ride

White Top
The trail starts at White top. It looked to me like 95% of the people rode from here to Damascus which is 17 miles downhill. From Damascus to Abingdon, which is not downhill, I'd say 4 people made the trip :)

High up
trust me, this is a tall bridge.

Liz and High Bridge
A little more perspective

Another bridge
No idea what is so fascinating about bridges, but they are.

way up

Liz Mountain Climbing
This is called a Karst Formation

Am I in the picture
Liz was taking so long I was wondering if I was even in the pic

Creeper Cafe
Of course we stopped at the Creeper Cafe. Music was very good. Food.... not so much. (but it was fine)

Parking lot
Of course, EVERYONE stopped at the Creeper Cafe

Liz in stream
I wanted Liz to go down to the stream to put the rocks in perspective. Naturally, she risked life and limb to go all the way out into the middle.
Love that girl

Smilin Liz
I am often asked, Does Liz smile all the time? No, of course not! She smiles when she rides her horse, or when she is hanging out with me, or spending time with her kids, or...... well, yes most of the time she is smiling.
She is married to me so why wouldn't she smile all the time?

Maverick
Liz thought I was taking a pic of this quaint little store. SHe did not know that my mom had one of these Mavericks when I was a kid and I haven't seen one in years.

Treehouse
Now that is a treehouse

This is at Arlington. Chief Plenty Coos was a chief who enjoyed the spotlight. It was an honor for an indian to touch a live, armed enemy with his coup stick shown here. Chief Plenty Coos was renowned for this accomplishment and would often touch caskets in ceremonies. This is his coup stick and a banner with his name mis-spelled.
