Summer Camp
Catie and I just spent a week at Timber Mountain Camp. We had lots of fun. See the photo book below.
Crop book
Yesterday I began a photobook about central valley crops. This is so my students can learn some of the crops that are grown in the valley around us. I spent a day driving around fields to take photos of crops. I met several helpful field workers and farmers who told me what crops I was looking at. So far all I have is the covers, the title page and 1 content page. Please email feedback to me so that I can improve my book. I will be taking another photo trip soon. I have only photographed 20 of the 58 crops that were brought to the farmers market in Hanford last year.
Mother's Day Weekend
Terra and Jeremy brought their kids to spend the night on Friday. Saturday morning we all went to the Annual Chalk-in at Civic Center Park. Tamara always loved going as a child and was happy to learn that her nieces and nephew were going to participate. We soon realized that Catie had a piece that could do well in the judging. We were all thrilled that her piece won second place for ages 8 & 9! The Mother's Day Chalk-in is always great fun and winning a prize was "icing on the cake".
First Day
Feb. 29 was our first day with Caitlyn, Cheyenne and Taylor. We went with Jeremy and them to Woodward Park. We fed the ducks, played on the play equipment, threw sticks in the stream and watched the fountain. It was a fun day getting to know each of the kids a little better.
February 28, 2009
Today was the welcome shower for Terra's new children. They are great. Catie is the oldest, 8, and is reserved. Cheyenne, 6, is outgoing and fun loving. We learned that Catie likes stuffed eggs and Cheyenne loves chocolate. Taylor, 3, is energetic and outgoing. They enjoyed playing in cousin Jordan's room while the grownups did party things downstairs. They did show up lickity-split at present opening time. The girls seemed to love their tea sets and Taylor loved the Jack-in-the-box from GG Tiger. Everything about the day was fun. We're all looking forward to Thomas joining his cousins for Easter week.

Crops grow where water flows.
If you are eating, thank a farmer.
