Hello, my name is Roger and my wife's name is Kelly. We are accompanied by our son, Prentice. God has called us to use our construction skills for His work. We volunteer our time to travel and aid in construction projects. We are currently located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in the beautiful area of Gadsden, AL. Please feel free to peruse the pictures and video (new additions) on our site. If you have any questions or comments you may leave them on this site or send them to us via email at: r_k63@yahoo.com Thank you for your interest in this ministry. We love you all!! RKP
We continue to thank each of you that have shown support to this ministry.
We welcome invitations to come and share with your group or church about our ministry. We are always pleased to share "What Does God Want From Me?"
We also want to invite each of you to share in this ministry by gathering a team and coming to work on a project. We can always use skilled and unskilled labor. All that is needed is a willingness to serve. Please pray how you can help these projects. If you need assistance or have questions you may contact us via this website or through email at
Little River, Townsend, TN 10 August 2010
Welcome from Townsend, TN. We are here on a ministry trip to work on a church building for Caylor's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. We have taken the time to come out an enjoy an afternoon of fun splashing in the refreshingly cool water of the Little River. A beautiful river with crystal clear water that just refreshes the body and soul. We were accompanied by our friends from Buffalo Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC.
Chattanooga, TN
We spent the day in Chattanooga, TN atop Lookout Mountain and inside the Tennessee Aquarium. We were accompanied by our dear friends-Joey, Cathryn, and Amber. What a great time we had. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was breathtaking!! We thank God for what He has done for us all!! Please check out the pictures of the Incline Railway and Point Park, along with the shots from the aquariums. These sights are well worth a drive and price of admission. Enjoy. We love you all. RKP
Cades Cove, TN
We took an afternoon (actually late evening) drive to Cades Cove, TN after working on a mission project in Rockford, TN. We were treated to a first hand encounter of God's creation. The mountains were magnificent, animals were wild and plentiful, and the weather was perfect!! We encountered many members of the animal kingdom including white tail deer, wild turkey, red wolves, and we had an awesome view of a mother black bear and 3 cubs!!! God is so great!! We love ya all, RKP
New Home!!
God has blessed us in our lives so many times we can not name them all!! We are truly thankful for all He has done for us. We stop and give Praise, Honor and Glory to Him once again for the blessings we receive, especially the most recent.....a HOME!! We have been blessed to receive a house that we may call home. This home is a place we may come relax, regenerate, and to have guests. This house has been provided through HIS people for us to use (at no cost to us). We want to take this opportunity to invite each and every person to come and join us for sweet fellowship at this home. We invite each of you to stop by for refreshments, a meal, a Christian converstation, or to stay the night (longer if needed or wanted) at your convenience. We pray that God will open the doors of Heaven and pour out blessings too numerous to count upon the couple that graciously allowed us the use of this house!! We love you all.... Thank you from the depths of our hearts Bro. Larry and Sis. Brenda!
Newest Family Member
We want to take this time to let everyone know that we have a new family member!! Yesterday, we adopted this precious orphan. She was found in a small out building on the property where we are working. A beautiful orange kitten about 2-3 weeks old. Thank God for the small things in life!!! Love RKP
Gadsden, Alabama--March 2010
We have relocated to Northeast Alabama to the Greater Gadsden area. Many natural beauties may be seen here. Majestic foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, cool, clear running streams abound, and Noccalula Falls Park. This is a natural waterfall that is about 90 feet tall and is breathtaking! We look forward to ministry work in this area and exploring the natural bounties that lay in wait for us. Please check back often for more pictures. Until the next post....we love you all and want to extend an invitation to come and join us for a day, a week or even longer. Love, RKP
Galveston, TX Feb 2010
We have traveled to the Gulf Coast at Galveston, Texas to meet up with some great friends to assist a congregation in rebuilding their church after the devastation of Hurricane Ike in 2008. While here we tried to take in some local sights and attractions, and take a walk on the beach. Much has been done to rebuild, however, much more is still in store for the entire city of Galveston. Enjoy the pictures and please check out the pictures of the ministry on the Texas page. Thanks, and may God bless you.
Prent's Permit
On 29 December 2009, Prent tested for his drivers permit-----and passed. We now have a new chauffeur!! Congratulations!!
Natchitoches National Fish Hatchery-Aquarium
Welcome friends! We took yet another opportunity to visit a local attraction this morning (22 September 09). We visited the Aquarium at Natchitoches National Fish Hatchery. The Aquarium has a variety of fish displays. There are 13 tanks that have a variety of warm water fish, alligators, and turtles. It is a self guided tour so you may take as long as you like to watch the fish and relax. There are some unusual fish in the aquarium...albinos! Another unusual animal that is housed here is a rare albino snapping turtle! Check out the pics and if you are in the area, stop by the Aquarium and observe the display for yourselves. Until next time, Love...Roger, Kelly, Prent
Grand Ecore Visitor Center, J. Bennett Johnston Waterway, Natchitoches, LA
We viewed the displays at the
Grand Ecore Visitor Center today (17 Sept 09). Displays inside the center depict the history of the Red River and the activities along this river. There are displays of natural wildlife, varied cultures and inhabitants thoughout the ages, and the men that helped change the course of the Red River down through history. It is well worth a trip
here to brush up on local history and to share some extraordianry views from the bluff high above the river below! We want to express appreciation to the manager and staff that we met for taking their time to talk to us about the exhibits, local attractions, and to just be friendly. THANKS!!
Bayou Pierre Alligator Park, Natchitoches, LA
We went to the Bayou Pierre Alligator Park north of Natchitoches, LA today (6 September 09). Through our new friend Mr. Jim (many thanks to you sir), we were graciously allowed entrance to the park by the owners Terry and Deborah Rogers. We were pleasantly surprised with the numbers and sizes of all the alligators!! We highly recommend a visit to the park if you are in the area. For more information, please
website. Thanks Terry and Deborah for your hospitality. Love to all. RKP
Moving On
Thank you all for visiting and keeping up with us here at Slidell. We regret to say that at this time we are packing up to move to another project. Permits for this project have yet to be pulled, and the expected process time is close to 3 months. We will be moving to Grosse Tete as of Monday, 18 May 2009. We will be at that project for about 2-3 weeks helping them finish up and get prepared for the fire marshall inspection (If you have a day or so that you could help, we could use you!!) After the punchout is complete there, we will be moving to Campti, LA to finish another project. The coordinators there are leaving this ministry as of June 2, 2009 and will be greatly missed. Continue to pray for this ministry. Keep your eyes open for updates and pictures that are forthcoming. We love you all and look forward to what God has in store for us in the future!! RKP
Happy Mother's Day
We want to take this opportunity to say HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the mothers! We know that this is belated, but due to limited facilities here in Red Oak, Oklahoma, today is as soon as I could get it posted. Please accept our apologies for the delay. We spent the day at worship with our family here at Cedar Baptist Church. Each mother was presented with a red carnation. After morning worship service, a fellowship meal was observed (actually, they have the meal EVERY Sunday after services). Usually folowing the meal they return to the sanctuary for their "evening" worship service. Services here at Cedar usually conclude around 2:00-2:30 pm. People drive in from as far away as Tulsa, OK to worship here at Cedar. This day was special in that it was Mother's Day, and they baptized a new member of their church body. Baptism services were held at a sister church about 20 miles away. God is at work here at Cedar and we extend the invitation for all to join in God's work here. We love you all. A special thanks and "I Love You" goes out to all the mothers! RKP
OK in OK
Hello everyone. We are excited to tell everyone that we are in Red Oak, OK on a ministry project. We are aiding in the construction of a church building for our brothers and sisters at Cedar Baptist Church. This project is so awesome in that we get to meet and work with people of the Great Choctaw Nation!! The Choctaw (at least the ones we have met, and I think I speak for most of them) are some of the most genuine and beautiful people I have ever met (by beautiful, I mean that they are so humble and sincere in all they do). We have been invited and participated in singings on Tuesday night and Friday night, and bible study on Wednesday night. I must say I have learned a thing or two about sincerity and genuine devotion to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The building project is moving along, but we need your prayers so that we might finish this project. Please pray for financial resources for Cedar Baptist and workers to carry out the work at hand. Until next week, we love you all!!
Open Doors!
God is good!! I recieved a phone call tonight from a gentleman that is the coordinator for I Am Able Ministries, in Forest Hill La. After talking for a few minutes the Lord started working on both of us. We had discussed the possiblity of helping that ministry in projects from time to time as we (Kelly and I) had time or could work it in. We (The gentelman and us) have been tossing around a ministry project to Cedar Baptist Church in Red Oak, Ok on an Indian reservation. Anyway to make a long story short and get to the point, with our current project on hold, and there being a definite need for a construction coordinator (just for 2-3 weeks) at this other project, we have decided to walk through the door that God has opened before us.
We would like to take this opportunity to ask that you pray for us while we are away on this trip. If anyone out there (or someone you know) might be interested in going to Red Oak, OK and working for a week (shorter or longer would be ok too), they could use the extra hands.
God has opened this door for ministry and we feel that He has called us to participate in this project. If you have any questions or anything, call us or email us.
Be on the lookout for updated pictures on our Missions/Ministry page for the Red Oak project

Great Fellowship
Hello everyone. You will notice this weeks pictures on our Northshore site include some of New Orleans. After an exceptional crawfish boil for lunch on Friday 3 April 2009, we went on a "field trip" to downtown New Orleans with our new friends from Hopewell Baptist Church in Blacksburg SC. We spent the afternoon enjoying warm temperatures and entertainment in the Big Easy. Enjoy the pics and please...post a comment here and there too. We love you all!!
Friends in high places and crawfish
Hello everyone. Saturday (7 March) was a day of fun, relaxation and great Louisiana cuisine. We started the day by sleeping in and then I made homemade pancakes for breakfast. Afterward we sort of sat and laid around until lunch. Tall TImbers food service prepared gumbo and fried fish-one of my favorites. On the way back to our camper, I decided to borrow a high lift to take some aerial photos of the jobsite we are on and just to kill some time. We made it an instructional lesson as well. Since I am considered a competent person (watch your thoughts--haha) by OSHA, we decided to have operational training for Prent. He is a natural on this equipment! The staff here at TT wanted rides, so being the gracious equipment operator we gave a short session to each of them. They were having fun until their boss shows up!! (Sam was nice about it---I told him they made me do it--haha) Anyway, we were invited by our new friends Jason and Rachel (I sure hope I got the name right--apologies if not) to our evening meal at "Sissy's". This is Louisiana food at its finest!! Sissy's Restaurant is located in the bustling metropolis of Hineston, LA. (They don't even have a crossroad!!) Place aint fancy, but they sure have great food. Saturday night was seafood night (though crawfish were the main attraction to the patrons--shellfish all the same). I have to say, the crawfish were excellent! This is a dining must if you are ever in the area (crawfish and Sissy's). Tonight we turn in an hour early to make up for the lost hour of Daylight Saving Time. (Notice there is no "s" on "Saving". The official name has no final "s"). Please, sign our guest (comment section) section with a comment, we truly want to hear from you. Until next update, we love you all. RKP
More Good Food and Friends!!
This past weekend (March 1st) we had the priveledge of cooking homemade pizzas for our great friends, Campers on Mission, that were here for a few days to build bunk beds for the camp. It was a great time of fellowship. We always enjoy their company!! We played dominoes afterward (I lost). We want to thank Campers on Mission for all the hard work and dedication they have put into the time that we have spent with them on this project. May God continue to bless each and every one of them in their ministry. We love you all, COM!!! Rog
Spring is springing!
Hi everyone. As you can see this week the Bradford Pear trees are blooming here, which means Spring is HERE! You also notice Prent eating in the one picture (he is enjoying homemade pancakes). The boat picture is in the lobby of a quaint little sandwich shoppe here in Alexandria, "The Little Cajun House". I gotta say, that the Lil Cajun sandwich at this shoppe is the best sandwich I do believe I have every eaten! You have to try it if you like loads of meat on your 14" sandwich (yes it is that long!) The proprietor of the shoppe is very friendly and a fellow Christian that makes these sandwiches while you watch. We are nearing the completion of the project at Tall Timbers and are scheduled to move to Slidell on the 9th (or is it the 10th) of March. We could still use some help if anyone out there is interested in coming for a few days. Until next week, we love you all. May God bless.
Food, Family and Friends
Hello everyone! We just want to take a little time and let you know what is happening in our lives. As you can see by the marquee pictures, we have a t-shirt with Eddie's BBQ on it. Our friends, Dan & Tammy are the managers of this particular restaurant and I have to say, they have some of the best food in Alexandria at this establishment. If any of you are ever nearby, it is well worth the drive to eat here. As Dan recommended to me, "Ah likes the ribs", ME TOO! Excellent!! The church sign in the marquee is from FBC Cameron, LA. We went down and joined hands with some friends of ours (Ken & Darla) from "up north" (Canada) and others from across the globe, for a day of work and fellowship at FBC Cameron. There is much work to be done and we are blessed to have been able to participate and help out on this project (check out the counters if you are ever there, Prent and I actually installed those). Shrimp chowder is now among one of my favorite dishes!! Afterwards, as the pics tell, we went for a stroll on Rutherford Beach. It was COLD!! However, there were actually some folks there that were from Canada (not connected to Ken & Darla) and they were swimming. What is wrong with that, eh? :) We love you all, enjoy this weeks pictures. Love Rog
SNOW!!
During the night of December 10, 2008, we received a great surprise. SNOW!!! We had about 4 inches of the white stuff. It was short lived, most melted on the 11th.
God continues to bless!!
This has been an extraordinary week to say the least! There have been moments of sorrow for some of our friends in their personal lives, and there have also been moments of tremendous joy! God has answered many prayers (ours and our friends) and bestowed blessings upon countless people in our lives (including us). So much has happened that it does not do justice to His works to try to list them here! I will only say at this particular point in our lives, God has shown us that we are here not only to build buildings, but we are more importantly here to build relationships that will have an eternal impact on many people. I will elaborate on some of the blessings during the upcoming weeks. We continue to ask all our Christian family to pray for us. Ask God to continue to open doors for us to share our testimonies with believer and non-believer alike. Continue to pray for the co-coordinators that we mentioned earlier.
We will be traveling to Kentucky for the Thanksgiving holiday, we ask that you pray with and for us for traveling grace during this time. We look forward to returning home and visiting with our friends and family during the upcoming holidays.
Remember this: We love each and every one of you!!
Campers on Mission
We want to take this opportunity to thank three couples with the
Louisiana Campers on Mission for their dedication and hard work on the project here at Tall Timbers. They came this week to aid us in any area that was needed. They were a tremendous blessing to this project (and to us as well). Their attention to detail in all the work they performed here was commendable. They possessed a Christ like attitude and it poured out in abundance. We can not thank Mr. & Mrs. Louie Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Taylor, and Mr. and Mrs. James Dugdale enough for their willingness to come serve and participate on this project. I want to invite all Campers on Mission to come and stop by, even if only to say hello, and check out this project. We look forward to meeting each and every one of you and working with our new Christian brothers and sisters again in the very near future. Thank You from the depths of our hearts. May God bless you in all that you do.
Tool Donation!!
We want to take this opportunity to express our deepest heartfelt "Thank You" to the person or persons that donated a NEW job site box to this ministry, and we give all the glory to God!! This box also had several tools that are much needed, and greatly appreciated, to carry out the work at hand. All we can say is PRAISE GOD for His people!! Through them we are able to receive blessings that are (to the non-believer) almost unbelievable. We truly serve an AWESOME GOD that deserves our very best!! AMEN
I Am Able Ministries, Inc.
Again, we have been the recipient of another blessing from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!! We have been blessed by "I Am Able Ministries, Inc." who have so graciously given of their time, talents and resources to come and help us with the residence here at Tall Timbers. This is a group of men that help with construction projects around our great nation. They are assisting (I should say, they are doing) in the framing of our project. I give thanks to these men who use so freely of their talents to bring honor and glory to our God!!! God is Good!! Amen
Travel Trailer
Last minute update, on Friday, 10 October 2008, we purchased a 30' travel trailer. This purchase was made possible through generous donations of His people here in Louisiana. We praise and give all the glory to God for this blessing in our lives!!

Hello Colsons,
Hope you are packed up and ready to go. Another NEW adventure--EXCITING!! The youth grilled for the church at lunch today then spent the afternoon together. Lindsey said that they had a good time. School is winding down here. Only 8 more days. I'm ready as much as the kids. There are so many assemblies and functions to go to this time of year. I think we are all ready for a vacation.
I'm praying for safe travels for you all tomorrow.

Great to see the progress in Slidell!! It looks like there is no end
to the drywall.
We leave for home via San Antonio tomorrow. It has been a great
blessing for us to be here at this camp. Remember that you remain in
our daily prayers for your safety, provision, and His blessing.
We still remember our time at Tall Timbers with great affection
toward the camp and your family.

Hey Colsons,
Hope you are finding your place in Slidell. Would love to here an update.
The youth had a great time in Bowling Green at the Creative Ministries conference. They were all well behaved and very excited about what they learned. I was really proud of Thomas and Phyllis also. They are building a great relationship with the youth.
Take care,
Laura Coleman

Merry Christmas (Past), and Happy New Year. Sorry I haven't checked in earlier, but I spent almost all of Dec. in the Hospital. Had my right Knee replased on Dec. 2nd. Spent one day in ICU because my Oxygen sat. would not come up. I got a sinus infection. Spent a week on regular floor, then went to In patient Rehab for two weeks. Got home spent about a week, and went back in for two days for dehydration and my creatin level was high. Creatin level is connected with Kidneys, and if too high you go on dialysis. Mine wasn't near that high, but they were concerned. I already had a nephrologist, so they consulted with him. After getting lots of IV fluids and drinking a bit, level came down to normal. So I got to come home. So, Dec. was a real wash out. I am feeling much better now though. Knee is healing well, and I have Phy. Therapy three days a week.
So, How are y'all doing? haven't heard from you in a good while. Hope you had a good Christmas. Don't forget that the dedication is Jan. 11th. Darell Mann and his wife are coming down and are going to stay with us
