Busy days! Can hardly believe we are about to celebrate Christmas in just a few short days. Ed and I are doing well. I am trying to walk more with him, the days for the most prt have been wonderful for walking outside.
The services at Central continue to bless us and nearly every service we are seeing souls saved. How great is our God to allow so many blessings upon us.
I trust things are busy with you and the girls. Bro. Dan keeps us posted on the work, andit is a blesing to see God use your family.
My two oldest grandchildren and our precious great grand baby came to service this morning. Bro Miller preached on faith, it was an awesome message and I pray it found a place in their hearts.
Your children seem to be doing fine. I don't get too much interaction with them, but it is wonderful to see their faithfulness and love for the Lord.
I have others to check on , so I bid you farewell for now and know that we think of yuo all often.
Love and prayers, Peggy

Picnic at Namaacha
Posted by Janell
Whew, finally able to post on our website again! We moved into a new house on March 7th, the same day the Schwaderers got back from the States. We were thankful that the Lord provided us with a good house in a enough time to pretty much move out and leave them to relax in their own house without the hassle of finding sleeping space for two families, (I’m pretty sure everyone knows this, but just in case… we’ve been living in the Schwaderers house and leading the church Bro. Nathan started while they were on furlough in the States). I say ‘pretty much’ because we still had about ¾ of our stuff on their front veranda and only made it to our house with our suitcases and sheets for the mattresses. We even had to head right back over there the next morning for breakfast because we didn’t have anything of that sort at our own house.
Said all that to say, we didn’t have steady internet access after that until April 18th (I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday presentJ). We were able to receive and respond (somewhat) to emails at the S’s or at a restaurant with Wi-Fi a couple or so times a week.
Hopefully the next post will give a little update on some of our goings on from Feb. through April as well as pictures of our new house, but this one is a little jaunt that Julia and I took with some of our friends. Specifically Heather Blanks and her kids, Magda Kierner and her kids (German/Dutch), and Emily Schwaderer and her kids. (Some of you may remember that I helped Heather and Magda with homeschooling their kids together for about a month last year.)
Magda invited us all to go on a picnic to a small waterfall/river, Namaacha. It was about an hour and a half drive and the scenery along the way was beautiful (looked more like South Africa than Mozambique J). The weather was perfect, felt great to wade a bit!! (It was a bit cold for swimming, but I think most of the kids ended up doing it anyway J). It was a really fun little trip! I’ll let the pictures tell the rest.
Daniel & Nasia's Wedding
Warning: This is going to be a long post!
This was the first wedding for either the Matola or the Trevo Church and it was quite an experience for us. We were the witnesses for the groom and helped quite a bit in much of the preparation for the wedding. There are many negotiations that go on between the two families before a wedding here, besides working out the details about the ceremony, etc. Dan, Bro. Martinasio and Bro. Arnaldo were the main ones to do most of this… and Dan was ALWAYS involved whether either of the other two could or not. He said he learned quite a lot about African culture through all of this. Nasia found a second hand wedding dress in the market here. It was really beautiful, but the back was almost all open. I took on the project of altering the dress to close up the back. I also offered to wash the dress for her, since I had done that for Priscilla’s dress. I took the bodice off the skirt and began working on the alterations. Once that was done I washed the bodice by hand and hung it to dry. Next, I turned the skirt inside out and sewing the net underskirt together before putting it in the washer on the gentle cycle… Just in case some of the beading came off in the process. When I pulled the skirt out of the washer, ALL the beads had come off…..they had been GLUED on. Okay… I admit it…I am waayyy behind the times. I have never even heard of putting beads on a wedding dress with glue!!! Sooooo began the long and tedious process of putting all those almost 5,000 beads back on … sewing them on this time. I only had about two weeks to complete the work in. I prayed asking the Lord to help me and I got Janell to help me work on the beads around the hem while I did all the appliques on the dress. Thank the Lord we got it all finished on time and then I spent a morning ironing the whole thing. Everyone seemed to be very happy with the final result.
The groom came to our house on the morning of the wedding to dress. That is apparently the custom since we were his witnesses. We met at the Civil Registry for the official legal ceremony with a Justice of the Peace. The bride arrived with her family and after a short wait we were all ushered into the wedding hall. It was a regular ceremony. From there we went to a park nearby to take a few pictures then on to the church where we would have the church ceremony. Everything went very well, thank the Lord. Bro. Martinasio was the MC and he preached an evangelistic sermon. Each of the two churches sang specials and each of the two families did, as well. The witnesses for the bride sang a couple duets to the couple and then Dan gave a short wedding devotional and did the vows. We signed the book (kind of like a wedding license) where we normally would have the unity candle. Then they had the blessing of the couple. Dan offered if the families had anything to add and her mother(who is a widow) stood up and sang a song in the dialect and then commenced to advise her how to be a good wife, etc. It was really good. Then his mother stood up (who is also a widow) and she sang a song and when she began to talk she broke down and cried. It was so sweet to see Nasia’s mother and the lady that was standing up with Nasia go and stand with her and hug and comfort her. Anyway, when that was done we sang a final wedding blessing on the couple and had the recessional. After a reception line for everyone there, we headed to the bride’s house for her part of the reception. It lasted from about 3:00 – 8:00 pm. It was quite an experience for us….as the pictures will show. From there we took the couple to a quiet bed and breakfast for the night. We picked them up in time for church the next morning. After church, the lady that stood up with the bride, came to our house and she and several other ladies RE-dressed the bride in all her finery for the SECOND day of the wedding - where we went to HIS mother’s house for a reception. These receptions include a huge meal and the cutting of the cake. They actually have 4 cakes decorated exactly alike…not large like ours are…just the normal size for a cake. Two are for the bride’s reception and two for the groom’s. There is quite a bit of cultural symbolism in many of the activities going on at this time. At the end of this long day we left the couple at the groom’s mother’s house for the night. Then next evening we went to get them and take them to their own home. You will notice in the pictures on Sunday that they are bringing in gifts…they are the gifts that were given on Saturday and they bring them to his mother’s house from theirs…. Very interesting stuff. Needless to say, we have been all week recuperating from all the activity of the last six weeks!! And… tomorrow Bro. Martinasio has planned a marriage seminar for the married couples since it is a holiday here. Dan and he will do the preaching.
Wonderful Wilhite Weekend
Posted by Janell
This past weekend we made a trip to Pietersburg, South Africa to be with one of our good missionary families the Wilhites. It was kind of spur of the moment. We knew we needed to see them pretty soon to pick up some stuff that Bro. Wilhite had brought back from the States for us, and Saturday was the day we had to go to the border to get our visas stamped anyway. So on Monday Dad contacted Bro. Wilhite to see if it would work for us to get together with them. He was thrilled with the idea, so we headed out Friday morning about 10:30 and arrived about 9:30 (see if you can figure out how that worked J). No seriously, it has never taken us that long to make that trip before. It’s supposed to be a seven hour trip, but with an hour long border crossing (being the weekend after New Years everyone was travelling back from their vacation spots to be at work on Monday),road work, and getting some of the directions confused, it took us 11 hours! We were so tired and ready to be out of the car (but of course not ready for bed yet). They had saved supper for us which was pizza and fresh corn from their garden. DELICIOUS!!! Now this family is one of a kind. We LOVE visiting them. We get teased the entire time because we’re “southerners” and they’re from PA, and they are constantly making jokes or puns about one thing or another. They have 11 kids in all, but only 7 are still at home, Julianna, 24, Dyanna, 22, Jeremiah, 17, Drew, 15, Joel, 12, Debrianna, 9, and Joshua, 6. They have two older married daughters, and two sons in between Dyanna and Jeremiah that are back in the States. Mrs. Wilhite is actually in the States right now as well, because she has had some serious eye problems, but she will be returning to South Africa next week. Saturday afternoon Bro. Wilhite took Julianna, Dyanna and our family to a Lion Ranch (it was a bit expensive so he couldn’t take everyone). We got to ride in a Safari truck for the first time since we’ve been in Africa. We drove through a small wildlife park and saw banded “mongeese”, giraffe, zebra, warthog, impala, and some other African deer. Finally we got to a special area just for the lions. It was still park style (underbrush and trees), but it was a much smaller enclosure so we were pretty much guaranteed to see the lions they had in there (one male and six females). One of the trainers even got a lion to snarl at us (not exactly comforting at the time, but fun to brag about afterwards. J) When we left that enclosure we went to an area where they actually had lions in pens and training them for movies. Depending on the time of year you’re there they will have different sizes of cubs that they’re training, but this time the smallest they had were 11 months old…. not very small. We did get to go inside the pen with them though and pet them. There were 3 white lions in there that are a very special and rare breed of lions(White Lions of Timbavati). This outing was a real treat for us! When we got home we had time to go swimming for about 45 minutes before supper time, a great way to cool off after a hot day.
They have four different services on Sundays, one in two different villages on Sunday mornings, another one in town at 3 p.m. and then a Bible study right after that in another village. Normally they’ll split up between the two services on Sunday mornings, but this time we all went together to one of the villages. The other one is stable enough to be on their own sometimes. Bro. Wilhite preached in the morning service, but he got Dad to preach at the afternoon service in town. After that most of us headed back to the house and only Bro. Wilhite and Julianna went to the Bible study because it’s a very small house. They got finished about 7p.m.and we met them in town again and went to eat at a good restaurant, Mugg and Bean. It’s well known for its coffee, but it also has good meals. We had a fun time relaxing and talking there and then went to the top of the mall where they have a parking lot area that’s open and has a great view of the city at night, REALLY fun!!! We had to head back Monday, but we weren’t in a huge rush. Our plan was be gone by noon, but that didn’t quite work out and we ended up leaving by 1:30. One big blessing though was that they gave us a used mattress and box springs that they didn’t need anymore. We’re very thankful for this because we’ll need it when we move into our own house after Nathan and Emily get back from the States.
It was such a fun and refreshing weekend, and we’re already looking forward to the next time we’ll get to see them.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
Hello Everyone,
I thought I would update our page with more recent pictures and while doing so to send an end of the year greeting to everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful New Year and that this next year will be full of the blessing of the Lord in your lives. We have been able to talk on Skype with all of our children and many of our friends in the last week. It has been a great blessing to us!
We are in the middle of preparing for a wedding here the end of January. A young couple in the church will be married and we are involved in many of the activities of that. They are Daniel and Nasia. I am including some of the pictures we took the day we went to the Registry Office to give in all our documents and set the date for the civil part of their marriage. They don’t give out a license for somebody else (pastor) to fill out… the Justice of the Peace marries everyone and then they go to the church for the Ceremony.
I am also including a few pictures taken last Sunday with Julia teaching her Sunday School class and some of her students. Being Christmas it wasn’t a full house as it usually is, but they did manage to get some good pictures. Then to close this out I am also including a few family pictures we took after church that day. May the Lord bless you all! ~ Cindy
Fellowship Meeting December 17
This past Saturday we had our usual end-of-the-year Fellowship meeting with the church in Trevo, and it was WONDERFUL!!! There was even a bigger crowd than last time (Julia counted 75), and I hardly think we could have fit in more people. We had six preachers: Bro. Jorge Matsinhe, Bro. Martinasio Tembe, and Dad before lunch, and then after lunch Bro. Lorenzo Sande, Bro. Arnaldo Mambo, and Bro. Victor daSilva. The Trevo Church set a theme this time which was “The Doctrine of Salvation”, and there were a lot of visitors there so they got a good opportunity to hear the Gospel. We had a good meal at noon, and it was a real blessing because Bro. Victor provided the meal as an offering to the church, and he cooked it all (he is a chef). The church just provided the drinks and a couple of side dishes. The day finished up about 6:30, and everybody helped clean up, load up chairs, and headed home. All in all, it was a great day!

Visa Victory
We had to go out to South Africa this week to renew our visas, and since we will be going back to South Africa to visit missionary friends for Thanksgiving we decided to do it all in just a day. It was an eventful trip. We got gas as we always do in Maputo and everything looked good until we passed the last toll booth and all at once Dan got concerned that we weren’t going to make it on into Nelspruit on our gas and there are no gas stations on that particular stretch of road until you get to the edge of Nelspruit. We began to pray the Lord would help us to make it to a station, because if we ran out of gas, there would have been no way we could have made it to the Consulate before noon. If your applications get in before noon, you can pick them up after 2pm, if not, it is the next day. We DID coast into a station on fumes at the edge of Nelspruit and just praised the LORD for his goodness. We got to the consulate in good time and Dan asked the man about renewing our visas. He asked what we were doing when he noticed that we had already gotten several tourist visas in a row. Dan told him and asked if we could get a 6 month visa. He said he didn’t have anything to do with that, he just took the applications. Dan had prepared a letter stating what we are doing here and asking for a 6 month visa, so we turned that in with our applications. We got back there a little after two and had to wait a little while…. But when we picked up our passports they had granted us a 6 month visitor’s visa. We have to leave the country every 30 days, but we don’t have to renew our visa until June!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!
Summer has set in seriously here. Thursday morning we were doing our normal activities in the house and we heard a loud BOOM. The transformer on the pole in front of our house blew up… so we lost electricity. Then in about an hour we heard another loud BOOM and another transformer down the road blew. We saw the men from the electric company come and they worked almost all day on it. They were still working on it when we went to church. When we came home, they were gone, but we were still without power. We just settled ourselves in for a HOT night….no fans. We had to quickly gather our meat out of our freezer and take it to a friend’s house in the area. In the middle of the night we woke up to POWER!! Yay!! We put our fans on and got a little sleep!! But we found that something had gone wrong with our water pump, so while we had power we still had to dip our water from a tank….thankfully we did have access to that! Dan called an electrician the next morning and as the LORD would work it out, he was right here in Matola and was at our house in about 45 minutes!!! He found the problem…not the whole pump, just a part of it. He and Dan went to find the piece and we were back in business… 24 hours from the time we lost our power and hence our water. At the same time the cord to the wireless router burned up. So on Monday we will see if we can find a new power cord for the wireless… in the meantime… we are all on one computer… so we are not really able to keep up as we have been. But soon, the Lord willing.

Baptizing and Fellowship Meeting
We have had a wonderful weekend! Saturday morning we had a joint baptizing with Trevo Baptist Church. There were four people baptized from their church, Heitor & Elsina Cassamo (the architect and his wife), Azelia Matsinhe (wife of Jorge Matsinhe, one of the faithful men of Trevo church), and Bartolomeu (not sure of his last name) who Jorge brought to church. From our church (Matola) there was one candidate, Nasia, the girlfriend of Daniel, who is one of the faithful young men here. Friday night there was a huge thunderstorm and we were afraid it would be so rainy the next day that the plans for the baptizing would be messed up, but, Thank the Lord, it was just a nice overcast day with no rain. Each of the churches had a little service in their own place and then we met together at the river for the baptizing. Only four other people besides Nasia and us were able to come from Matola, but Trevo brought a good group with them, which was a great blessing considering what the weather looked like. It was wonderful to see Bro. Heitor and his wife being baptized together. Dad was glad he had the privilege to baptize Bro. Heitor, as he considers him his son in the faith, and Pastor Martinasio baptized Sis. Elsina (Bro. Martinasio asked Dad to help baptize for Trevo as well). Dad, of course, baptized Nasia, and Pastor Martinasio baptized the others.
Yesterday morning, here at Matola, we had special services. We dispensed with Sunday School and had in three guest preachers, and one from here to preach. The order of preachers was, Bro. Jorge Matsinhe (from Trevo), Bro. Jamudim Malate (from a church in Maputo), Bro. Arnaldo Mambo (from here), and Bro. Lourenço Sande (from another church in Maputo). All the preaching was GREAT!!! It is such a blessing to see men growing in the Lord, and hearing them preach great Bible truths with conviction and from experience! There were nine visitors present, not counting preachers (six of them for the first time), and the house was FULL!!! There were over 30 people present. After the first two messages, we took a little 10-minute break, for people to stretch their legs, get a drink, etc. After services were over we invited everyone over for a time of fellowship with sandwiches, chamussas, cold drinks, and homemade snickerdoodles :-). Everyone seemed to enjoy it, and I think there were some lasting impressions made that will bring forth fruit.

September/October
We have had a full month. Janell was working as a helper with two homeschool mothers, but it was really a new experience to one of the mothers and it just didn’t work out after all. Janell was able to work for a month, and both of the ladies said how much of a blessing she was, but they just couldn’t continue the school.
The first pictures are of some of the school pictures. The next group of pictures is the girls teaching the children’s class. Janell leads the singing and Julia teaches the lesson. They have about 25-30 children each Sunday. There is a teen class that is taught by some of the men of the church taking turns.
The next pictures are of Janell cutting my hair for me for the first time. Priscilla used to always cut my hair. Janell was a little bit afraid to try it, but finally she got courage enough to go for it. I thought she did a good job…
The last group of pictures are of the day we had the Blanks for lunch. They are a missionary family we met since we got here this time. They have four children that are so cute and sweet. We had a great time of fellowship with them! The kids had a ball with the Nathan and Emily’s little dogs! Heather, Janell and I talked as fast as we could from the time they got here until they left…I would call her a kindred spirit. (smile)
I have finished one small quilt for a granddaughter and got two other tops finished. I also made a patchwork bedspread for Dan and me that can double as a duvet cover in the cold weather. You can see these in my quilt journal on the pictures tab, if you are interested. I am working on a few other small projects… I love designing and making quilts!! I have also gotten numerous mending and sewing projects accomplished in the last two weeks. I am so thankful for my sewing machine!!!
Julia continues to make good progress in her schoolwork! I am so thankful for that. She will finish some of her schoolwork before Thanksgiving and most of the rest of it by Christmas and will be able to begin her next school year. I was hoping she would be able to make up school time and she has done so!!!
I have one final story that I want to share. When we were here three and a half years ago a lady sent me a book that she said was a real blessing to her and wanted me to be able to read it. She mailed it in January of 2008. I kept waiting for it to come and when six months passed I decided it had probably been stolen or something and just prayed that it would be a blessing to whoever got it. In September we had to leave the country not expecting to come back. We left our PO box key with Nathan and Emily Schwaderer. When the year ended, he just let the PO box expire, since he never used it. When we got back here, Dan saw the key to our PO box sitting out, and set it on his desk. (That was in JUNE!) About the middle of September he asked me if I knew where the key was… Noooo, I didn’t even know he had found it or anything about it. Well, the next day or so he had to go into the city for something. When he came back, he had his arms full of mail!!!! Things that had come during those three years we were gone. He found where he put the key. Amongst all that mail, guess what was there…YES the book that had been mailed three years and 8 months earlier!!! ONLY the LORD could do something like that. I knew He wanted me to have it for now and I have been reading it. What a blessing. It is “With God in the School of Prayer” by Andrew Murray. By the way, Dan was able to keep our PO box, which is a blessing since we have tracts printed with that address on it. He was also able to get stamps made with the physical address of the church here in Matola and the Trevo church, as well. So above the PO box address, we stamp the name and physical address of the church, so people know where to come if they wish to learn more.
Oh and I recently learned of a book called “The Cross or My Children” by Miriam Dunn so we downloaded it onto Janell’s Kindle, and I read it aloud to the family. It is an EXCELLENT book. I love missionary biographies and I have always enjoyed reading Missionary stories about China. This is the story of a family that was with the China Inland Mission during WW2 and up through the Communist take-over in 1950. It is a great story!!! Any of you that can download it…DO SO… it is well worth your time.
That about catches you up on our news for now. Thanks for taking time to keep up with our doings.
The USS Samuel B. Roberts
I’ve been meaning to do this post all week, but haven’t gotten a chance until today. Last Saturday Julia and I went into Maputo with our recently made friends, the Blanks (more on them in another post). We had gotten an email from the Embassy the week before saying that the U.S.S. Samuel B. Roberts was gonna be docked on the port of Maputo on that day and offering at no cost three 30 minute tours that afternoon at 2, 2:30, and 3 p.m. So when we found out the Blanks were going as well, we sent in our R.S.V.P.s to go with them (Mom and Dad were unable to go because they usually have classes on Saturday afternoons. So the Blanks picked us up about 1:45 so we could get there in time for the 2:30 tour. We had SUCH a wonderful afternoon!!!! A supposedly 30 minute tour turned into a 2 HOUR tour and we enjoyed every minute of it. The other 2 groups were a little longer than originally planned though ours was the longest of all (probably the fact that 6 little kids were a part of the group contributed to the length of time). Thankfully the ship was big enough that none of the groups got in each others way. We learned a whole lot of interesting stuff, not to mention the history behind this ship is amazing. You should follow this link to find out what an amazing ship this is!!! For that short two hours of time I felt like I was back in the States surrounded by only American accents. Be sure and look at the captions under all the pictures to find out interesting details!!!!

Dan's trip to Zambia
Dan was able to make a trip to Zambia for a Bush Bible Conference. There were about 2500 people present. He had a great time and was even asked to preach. It was the first time he has ever preached to that many people. He said the spirit was wonderful and it was such a blessing to see so many sound Baptist pastors and preachers and churches in Zambia preaching the Word. They even have a huge deaf ministry in and around Lusaka. I cannot remember how many deaf churches they have but I think about 15. You will be able to see in the album some snapshots of the conference. When he got back here he made a report to the church and it was a real blessing to them all. One brother in the church took him to the airport and wouldn’t even allow Dan to help him with gas money. He told him, “Brother, I will reap the blessing of this trip on your return.” He even went to the airport the night he was supposed to arrive and waited for several hours, but the flight out of Ndola, Zambia had been delayed, so he missed his connecting flight. They put him up in a hotel over night and he left out the next evening and got here about 8pm.
Trevo Fellowship Meeting
The brethren at Trevo Independent Baptist Church had a fellowship meeting on Saturday, August 6. All the ladies met at the church on Saturday to begin the food preparation for the dinner on the grounds. They prepared grilled chicken, beans and rice, a green salad and a cabbage salad. We brought lemon pound cake and snickerdoodles. We had a really good attendance with a full house. There were about 75 people present. We had 5 preachers to bring the messages for the day, three before dinner and 3 afterward (Bro. Martinasio spoke twice) What a wonderful day of preaching!! The preaching was anointed by the Holy Spirit and the brethren were greatly encouraged! We had many lost folks and some new believers present that were privileged to hear God’s Word preached with great power. They all went away greatly blessed. The meeting ended about 6pm…which is the longest we have ever gone, but everyone stayed until the end! The fellowship around the dinner was truly a blessing for our brethren to see and experience other brethren of like faith and order, enjoying good preaching and getting to know other believers.
Julia’s notes:
I really enjoyed the fellowship meeting!! It was the best one we’ve had yet!! One of my good friends Aninha was able to come, she is not usually able to come because it is a long walk, and it’s not safe to walk alone that distance. She was really happy to come, and being among everyone was really a blessing to her, she commented a couple times that she was glad she was able to attend.
We got to the church about 9:00 a.m. When we got there, there were already ladies there cooking; the smell of grilled chicken pervaded the air. We pulled out our “capulanas” and started cutting vegetables for the big salads. There were about 2 to 3 ladies working on each dish.
We worked on the food till about 9:45, then people started arriving, and we started singing about 10:00. Bro. Fernando kicked off the preaching, with an excellent sermon on the love of God! And one point he made I really appreciated was, that one of the gifts God gave him was his wife, and he said that he was glad the Lord gave her to him, that soo many people don’t treasure their wives or husbands, and get divorced and marry again to foreign women, but he just wanted to stick to “his Mozambican”. I thought that was really great. All the sermons were great, and I enjoyed them all. All the sermons were translated into the local dialect, Shangana, to facilitate understanding. Some people don’t speak Portuguese well, and it is easier for them to understand that way.
It was great to see all my friends that I hadn’t seen in a long while, and they were all glad to see me as well. Several of them asked why I hadn’t been “going to church”, so I explained what we are doing right now, and they all said that they hope we come back soon.
After lunch, I got “pulled“ outside to help wash the dishes, (literally). It was about a 30 to 45 minute process with two main washers, two rinsers and two dryers, plus a couple of extra ladies who scrubbed the big pots and grills. Quite a large task force!!! It was great fun; we always enjoy washing dishes, there is a lot of talking and laughing, and just a good spirit. Then with backs, and feet aching from hunching over and kneeling we all returned to service. :-) The sermon right after lunch is the hardest, for the congregation and the preacher. The congregation all feels like taking a “siesta” and the preachers themselves are tired and are trying energetically to keep the fading attention of their audience. It is slightly humorous to see people trying vainly to stay awake or at least not look like they are sleeping! J
All in all it was a fantastic day!!!! I am soo glad we got to be there, and that we got to bring our group from Matola. They really got a big blessing out of it, we brought about 15. They had never been to one of those before, and they all gave testimonies in church today, about how much they enjoyed it, etc.. and the general consensus was that we should have more meetings more often, at which I heartily agreed!!!
Janell’s notes:
Well, since just about everything has been told, I won’t go over it all again, but just mention a few blessings for me. One big thing for me was the great participation of all the ladies who cooked the meal. They had been at the church the day before preparing a few things, and then they also got to the church EARLY Saturday morning (I don’t even know what time). This was a real encouragement because in the past, we’ve just had one man who is a chef to prepare the meals, and normally he has to stay up just about all night the night before to get everything ready, and as a result doesn’t get to enjoy the preaching as much. This way everybody was able to enjoy all of it. Also another great blessing was close to the end of the day, the fifth preacher had finished preaching and Bro. Martinasio was getting up for the final message. Just to make sure though, he said, “Okay I want the consensus of the people, Do y’all all want to hear another message or are you ready to quit now”, and everybody heartily agreed “More preaching”. It’s wonderful to see the Lord’s people, eager to hear the Word of Lord even after a whole day of it. One thing that neither of the above reports includes was the names of preachers and their respective texts. Even though most of you won’t know these people, I still would like to include them for those of you who are familiar with them.
#1 Bro. Fernando Machine. His text was the Rich Young Ruler, and how his riches prohibited him from being saved. He said all of us have hearts that are “rich” with sin that is keeping us from being saved. I’d never heard this applied in this way, but it was really good.
#2 Dad. He gave a really good clear Gospel Message.
#3 Bro. Jamudim Malate. He preached on false prophets and how they are deceiving so many people today.
#4 Bro. Martinasio Tembe. His text was Exodus 19 And Hebrews 12:22 and how we as Christians are on a journey from Mt. Sinai to Mt. Zion.
#5 Bro. Victor da Silva. His basis was the story of John the Baptist being beheaded by Herod, and later how Herod died a miserable death, because of he didn’t glorify God. He hit a lot of good points in between, and he was so enthusiastic that he could hardly give the interpreter time to translate into the dialect. It was a really GREAT sermon!!!!
#6 Bro. Martiasio again: He preached a really good sermon on purity and marriage in general (something that desperately needs to be taught in this country)
All in all it was a great day and HUGE blessing!!!!

Julia Turned Sweet Sixteen
Julia had her sixteenth birthday on Sunday. Sheila & Richard Wilson, where we stayed in South Africa, gave her a card with R100 (about $15). Tamlyn, the Wilson’s daughter, did a sketch of Julia, which turned out really good. I looked for a frame but couldn’t find anything that would fit it... so I made her a cloth covered frame so she could hang it on her wall. I mention them first because they actually gave her these gifts before we left South Africa on Wednesday. While we were in South Africa, she bought herself a really cute hobo bag of mauvey courdoroy, with rosettes... as she says... a birthday present for herself. On Friday night, we had Karl Peterson, with his daughter, Elsa, who is Julia’s good friend over for supper. They live in SA, but were in Maputo for Friday night and we had arranged to have them out. She brought Julia a beautiful purple scarf with silver threads running through it and a bar of lovely lavender soap... besides having a great time with them that evening. On Sunday morning, before church, I was able to make her a coconut pudding with Stevia for her dessert that day. She had been saying for weeks that she wanted a coconut pudding and I would tell her… “Great! Go make yourself some.” So that morning when I woke up, I thought about her saying that and decided that would make a great ‘birthday cake’ for her. Dan took us out to eat for dinner to a Restaurant called Roma and the food was good. One of her gifts was a remade jean skirt. A few months ago, Julia brought me a jean skirt that somebody had given her, that wasn’t very flattering, and asked what I could do to make it fit better. I was so busy I just put it away to ‘think’ about. She has an OLD jean skirt that she loves and wears every chance she gets. Every time she put it on, she commented on how much she loved the fit. Soooo, I thought…”Hmmm! Wonder if I can remake that old skirt like the one she likes so much.” Well, it turned out pretty similar and she loved it. Then I found her some really good ‘no sugar’ cookies and a jar of salted cashews. She got to talk to several of her really good friends on Sunday, as well. She got to talk to her good friend, Mykaela McDowell, that afternoon (our time)...Mykaela got up really early Sunday morning before anyone else, just so she could chat and tell her ‘Happy Birthday.” The Lairds... Timothy, Sarah, Rachel and Abby... got on Skype right after church(their time) and, as a group, sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her as soon as she connected... it was really cute... and then she had a great time talking to all of them. She also got e-cards from Mykaela, Meemaw and Peepaw,(who also sent her money) and Priscilla and Cody. She got to talk to Jessica, Joshua, and Peter & Holly on Skype the next day, Monday. Then she got a note from my sister, Teri, with birthday wishes on our blog... The Bible talks about ‘News from a far country”... Julia was definitely refreshed by all the well wishes from everyone! She had a great day and a wonderful ‘Sixteenth’.
Mabel Strikes Again!!! (or "A Pizza Making Adventure" :-)
For those of you who are familiar with the “Grandma’s Attic” series, today I felt very much like Mabel when she put liniment in “Ma’s” birthday cake, thinking it was vanilla flavoring! :-) Continue reading and you’ll find out why. So I woke up this morning and was trying to figure out what I could make that would be a special meal for the 4th of July. After a taking an inventory of our supplies, PIZZA sounded like the best, and yummiest idea. So I started in on the dough, and realized that we didn’t have quite enough flour. Well, we were gonna have to go to the store for a few supplies before lunch anyway, we just found out we’d have to do it before I started the dough instead of waiting till it was ready to rise. So Mom and I ran down to the super market to get a few items, and when we got back I continued on with my dough (now being able to add the most important ingredient :-). I go to the olive oil, and remembering that I had seen a little bit in the bottom of the bottle sitting in the pantry I decided I’d go ahead and finish that off before I opened the new bottle. So I proceeded to add the one tablespoon of olive that was left in the bottle and then add another tablespoon from the new one. I added all the remaining ingredients, and began to knead the dough. Then I noticed a peculiarly pepperminty smell coming from somewhere close by, but couldn’t figure out what it was. I mentioned it to Mom, and all of a sudden she said, “Wait did you use what was in this bottle?”, indicating the now empty olive oil bottle. I said, “Yes ma’am, I figured I’d finish it out before opening the new one.” She said, “Oh nooo, that was the olive oil and peppermint oil mixture for medicinal purposes!!!” Whoops, seemed like I’d done it this time. (Hey, at least it wasn’t a lack of reading the label on my part :-) What in the world could we do with this batch of peppermint flavored pizza dough. As I went to making another batch of dough for the still intended pizza we were gonna make, Mom went to the computer to see what can be done with peppermint dough. We bounced around a few ideas but nothing really seemed to say “Ooohh, YUMMY!!!” So we thought some more. All of a sudden I remembered what is called, Brazilian Dessert Pizza which Mrs. Joanie Troester had made and brought over one time. Now that sounded scrumptious (just wait till you hear what goes on it)!!!! Granted it didn’t call for peppermint dough but it would still taste great with it. For all you mint chocolate lovers I’ll go ahead and put the recipe right here.
Ingredients
Pizza Dough: Makes enough dough for two 10-12 inch pizzas
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (105°F-115°F)
- 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) of active dry yeast (check the expiration date on the package)
- 3 1/2 cups bread flour (can use all-purpose but bread flour will give you a crisper crust)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil (add 1/8 tsp peppermint flavoring or to taste :-)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
Just make it up in the regular way. You can look online if you’re unsure. Here’s the link I used:
http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/homemade_pizza
Topping:
8 oz. package of cream cheese, creamed together with 2 TBSP sugar and ¼ tsp. Vanilla flavoring. Spread this on the already baked pizza crust.
Next:Combine 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa, and 1 Tbsp butter in a pan. Over medium heat, move it around the pan with a spatula to prevent a crust forming on the edges. The mixture is ready when it starts to pull itself away from the edges of the pan, instead of wetting the sides.
Spread this layer on top of the cream cheese layer, and top with coconut flakes and/or chocolate sprinkles. Eat when ready.
Anyway, we made the dessert pizza and then the regular pizza (which was SUPER good, by the way… everybody said so…. Course it could be that we waited till almost 4 to eat so everyone was starving by that time anyway :-). It was a fun experience, and something I’ll hopefully be making again. When Dad heard the story he said, “That’s what happens when the cooks don’t communicate.” :-)
A wonderful weekend
We are settling into the house and I feel like things are getting into a routine and Julia is on a good school schedule…which is always one of my first things that I like to get going. We are really enjoying the work here in Matola, and are actually involved in both works at the same time. On Wednesdays we go out to Trevo for their midweek services, and we have been taking two men from here with us. They have really enjoyed it and will call and say they want to come again. We have our midweek services Thursday nights, and this last week Pastor Martinasio brought three men from the Trevo work with him to visit our services. It was a blessing to everyone. We had great services yesterday. Dan preached a good salvation sermon showing that salvation is found in the Word of God and finishing up with the story of Spurgeon’s conversion…LOOK unto Jesus. It was sooo good. He asked Bro. Arnaldo to lead in a song of invitation, but he never made it to the front. Before Dan hardly got the words out of his mouth, a young lady, Admirancia, spoke up and said, “Pastor, I must speak.” She then stood up fighting tears saying that she had attended church here for two years and had been saved, but had fallen into sin and come back and had fallen again. She said she believed the Lord would help her not to fall into sin again and that she needed to be baptized TODAY and could a baptism be arranged TODAY, without any further delay? First of all Dan asked for a show of hands from the membership for her to be received as a candidate for baptism on her profession of faith and then the men began to discuss if it were possible to have a baptism in the afternoon. Everyone was really excited about it and we agreed that we could go to the Matola River and baptize after everyone had a chance to go home and eat a bite and for her to get a change of clothes. Dan said the men were all talking about it after church when they were counting the offering money… they thought it was great that she stood up and gave a clear testimony and then asked for baptism TODAY! You should have seen the excitement. Anyway, we had almost the exact same group return for the afternoon baptism. Bro. Arnaldo offered to bring his truck so between our van and his truck we could get in whoever was able to go. As it turned out, one lady and some children didn’t return for the afternoon, so everyone fit in our van and off we went. In the meantime, Dan had called Pastor Martinasio and told him about it, and asked him to bring the sermon at the riverside. He had a young Jamaican man with him for the day and brought him along, too, as he was over on a mission’s trip from the US. It was such a great blessing for all of us. Our original plan had been to go to South Africa yesterday afternoon, but when Dan woke up yesterday morning he thought he would look at the date on the stamps. He found that we don’t need to leave the country until the end of the week, so we had already decided that we weren’t leaving that afternoon before we ever got to church. When all of this happened we just rejoiced that we were able to have the baptism immediately as she requested. It is wonderful how the Lord works all these details out beforehand!
Well, I will sign off for now….Janell has a post coming soon! Love, Cindy
An adventurous trip to Mozambique
We had a good time with our family and friends while we were in the US for the two months. It was such a full and enjoyable trip...but we miss our Priscilla with us. Though, we are so thankful the Lord gave her a wonderful husband. Everything went very smoothly at the airport, we didn't have any problems with our luggage or anything. The flight was delayed due to mechanical repairs, so that made us miss our flight on to Johannesburg. They gave us a hotel room and meal vouchers until we could catch the next flight out the next evening. We arrived in good time and were in line to board when they told us they couldn't let me fly, as my passport didn't have enough empty visa pages to go into South Africa. We go in and out of South Africa all the time and they put as many as 8 stamps on a page and I only had two on my page...but they refused to let me travel. So they agreed to give us a night in a hotel, but no meal vouchers. As this was Friday night we couldn't do anything before Monday. Dan called the Passport Agency in Atlanta and we couldn't get an appointment until Thursday. Then he called New Orleans and they didn't have one until Tuesday afternoon, which would make me get my passport on Wednesday(and another 2 hr. trip to New Orleans). He called Houston and got an appointment for Tuesday morning, so we got a round-trip ticket with my sky miles and called my sister, Teri, and my Aunt Carol to see if they could help me with transportation and helping me do the things I needed to. While this was going on Dan and the girls went to spend the time with a missionary family now living near Atlanta until Wednesday when we would fly to Jo'burg.
My sister, Teri, picked me up at the airport and I was able to go to church with her that morning and sit in her Sunday School class. GREAT! My Aunt Carol also came to join us that morning. Then that afternoon Aunt Carol took me back to her house for a couple days to get all the things I needed to get my passport. The next morning she drove me into downtown Houston to apply for my passport. That was quickly done and I only needed to go back to pick it up that afternoon. We met my sister, Teri, for lunch and then I went to her office until time to pick up my passport. I drove her car to a nearby parking area and picked up my passport. It was a first time experience for me. That was the first time I had ever been down in downtown Houston and of course my first time to ever drive there as well. It was quite an experience. When I went back to pick Teri up from work she said I passed her three times and I didn't even see her until she stood in street and waved her arms at me... I was quite nervous and distracted. SOOO glad to see her standing there and to give her back the steering wheel!! We got safely home and after supper went to visit my baby sister, Shelley, for a short time. We got in bed a bit late that night and had to be up at 4 to catch my early morning flight on Wednesday. It was a good flight and I just waited for Dan and the girls at the airport. Once they arrived we checked into getting our boarding passes and making sure our luggage would be on the plane with us. After all of that we got a bite to eat and settled in to wait for our evening departure. It was sooo good to be back with my family again. We had a good flight into Johannesburg. A good friend met us at the airport and took us to eat a another friend's house for supper. We had a good night's sleep and caught a bus the next morning to Mozambique. We had another really good trip, with no complications. We were met at the bus stop by Joel and Joannie Troester who took us to Nathan's house where we will live until they return next year. The gate was locked and we waited an hour until the guard arrived to open the gate for us. We got inside and found there was no electricity and the things in the freezer had all gone bad...as in BAD! The stench was terrible. While the men went to see about getting the electicity going we tried to empty the stinking freezer...but with no electricity there is also no water...so the actually cleaning had to wait for the return of the men. After they got back and got our electricity all going and water running then we began the process of cleaning the mess up! Thankfully Joannie made us a casserole for our supper and some brownies for dessert! We turned the oven on to heat (gas tank...yay!!) I opened the oven to see if our food was warm and the oven was warmish but not hot...we'd had just enough gas in the tank to warm our supper before it went out. AGAIN thankfully there was a new tank just ready to be used sitting in the kitchen! So, while there are trials, the Lord always sends blessings along to lighten the path. The smell was barely diminished, but we knew the major source had been cleaned up. It took us most of Saturday to figure out how to clean the tray where it had dripped into. After getting it all cleaned out it seemed the smell still lingered....though no nearly so badly as before. I thought to put some bleach water in the freezer, hoping it would drain down the same way the blood had and clean the way. It is really better today, but if you open the fridge it still smells bad. Thankfully, we have a chest freezer we can use in the meantime that doesn't smell at all! I hope to try to find some baking soda to put in there in the next day or two.
We had really good services on Sunday. A lady teaches the little children and a man teaches the older children for Sunday School and both did an excellent job. Dan preached a wonderful sermon and just got right in his stride in Portuguese. We had some first time visitors and a really good spirit. The brethren seem to be very encouraged. We are so thankful to be back in Mozambique and that the Lord has work for us to do here. Dan is taking Nathan Schwaderer's work while they are on furlough. Trevo Baptist Church continues to do well with Bro. Martinasio. The Lord loads us with so many wonderful blessings we can hardly contain them all! Bless the Lord Oh my soul, and all that is within me, Bless His Holy Name!

Peter's Commissioning and Graduation
posted by Janell
May 12 and 13 Peter had his military commissioning and his graduation from U.S.M. with a master's in political science. On Thursday, the day of the pinning, almost all the family in the area was able to attend (Ed, Priscilla and Cody being the only ones absent). A couple people commented that Peter had the biggest support group they'd ever seen! Aren't big families wonderful!! :-)It was a very nice ceremony!!! Actually it was a joint ceremony in which both Army and Air Force were being commissioned. Dad, Mom, and Holly were the one's that got to pin on his stripes, a very special moment for them.
After the commissioning, we all went out to eat at Crescent City Grill. It was a very nice restaurant, and a blast to spend that time with everyone. Afterwards we all went to Josh and Rachel's house to relax.
Friday, which was graduation day, we and Holly were the only ones who were able to attend. Everybody else was occupied with one thing or another. However, in the afternoon we all headed up to Cody and Priscilla's and spent the remainder of the day there. Cody's parents and his sister, Kim, came as well, so we had a fun little get together with everybody.
Dad, Mom, Julia, and I spent the night with Cody & Priscilla, and stayed until midafternoon of the next day. A very fun and relaxing time for all of us!
Mother Daughter Banquet & Mother's Day
posted by Janell
Saturday after we got back from Texas our church had a Mother Daughter Banquet. The theme was "Sailing into Service" and they had the fellowship hall decorated like a cruise ship. Everybody came dressed in formals and it was sooo beautiful!!!! The guest speaker was a lady who has had an influence on our church for many years although she is not presently a member there. She just talked about her years as a pastor's wife, and gave some good, practical examples of how we as women can serve in everyday life. It was really good. The meal was delicious as well. We had steak, baked potatoes and salad. After the banquet we all went over to Ed and Jessica's to visit a little while.
Sunday after the morning service, we went to Meemaw and Peepaw's to celebrate Mother's Day with them. We all had an enjoyable afternoon (taking naps :-). After the evening service all the siblings came over to our place for a little get together, and Mom got some nice gifts.
Such a fun Mother's Day weekend!
Trip to Texas
April 21 - 27 we took a trip to Texas to visit Mom's aunt and sisters. We had a great time with them. We left Friday morning (after Julia and I stayed up all night watching the Royal Wedding) and arrived in Beaumont about 6 p.m. and spent the night with Dad's oldest sister, Aunt Bonise. Saturday we headed the remaining couple of hours to Houston, and got to Aunt Teri's just in time to walk out the door to her grandson's birthday party. After the party, we went to Aunt Shelley's and visited for a couple of hours or so.
Sunday Dad preached for Uncle Ed, and it was a really good, clear salvation sermon. It was enjoyable getting to join them for their services. Aunt Carol, and Aunt Shelley and her girls came to hear him preach, as well. After services, everybody headed over to Aunt Teri's for lunch, and then visited or played on the Wii. As usual Mom, Aunt Teri, and Aunt Shelley had a bowling tournament, in which Aunt Shelley won both games hands down, (she had been playing real bowling the past couple days so it was a piece of cake for her.)
Sunday evening after church we went to visit our cousins, Lauryn and Daniel, which was a lot of fun. Getting to see them in their home after having been to their wedding. Very nice!!!
Monday we headed to a different part of Houston to spend the rest of our time with Aunt Carol. Uncle Ed and Aunt Teri came with us and we all went out to eat at Las Ventanas, an "up-scale" Mexican restaurant. Uncle Ed said that sounded like an oxymoron, but when we got there we found out it was exaclty right. It was really nice, and they had some of the best dips for tortilla chips I have ever eaten.
Monday night, Aunt Carol brought out all her old wigs for Julia to try on and she had a ball with that (of course). I, on the other hand, was finding much more enjoyment in the contents of my Kindle. So much more intellectual. :-D
Tuesday night we went a step further and brought out all her old hats, and this time Mom and I joined in the fun. And as you can see we took tons of pictures. It was a blast!!!
Wednesday evening we tried to find a church to go to and decided on one that Aunt Carol had heard of (though never been to). It was called 2nd Baptist and when we drove up (I thought) it seemed a little strange. When we walked inside we KNEW it was strange because the first thing we saw was NOT the sanctuary, but a book/coffee shop. When we asked someone about services they said there weren't any formal ones, only "age appropriate" Bible studies. Needless to say, we walked back out of there. So I can now officially "brag" that I've been in one of *those* churches.
Thursday morning we headed out for home,buuut....... our car broke down about an hour and a half after we left (still half an hour from Aunt Bonise's). We were able to call her and get the number of the mechanic/towing service that she uses so they were able to tow us into Beaumont and get the car fixed. We headed out again at about 4:30 p.m. and arrived at Meemaw's house at 10:30. We decided to go directly there because Uncle Phil had just come in from Chile and we wanted to get to visit with him as much as possible.
All in all it was a very enjoyable trip.
Cody and Priscilla's Wedding
So many blessings to share in conjunction with the wedding of our daughter, Priscilla to Cody Reddoch. Many thanks to the Reddochs for all they did to make this event possible and so special, as well. We also are so thankful to all the family members and friends that had a real part in helping us with so much we weren't able to do being overseas. Also special thanks to all the wonderful folks at Central that gave so willingly of their time to help us get the work done quickly,
We arrived here on a Thursday morning from Mozambique, and spent a couple nights with Dan's parents. Then we moved to Hattiesburg with Josh and Rachel for about a week. My friend, Jo Ann Davis offered us the use of her empty home, as she recently remarried, and we are so thankful to have a place to spread out and be on our own schedule. We found flowers pretty easily and soooo many people offered us whatever we needed to borrow. We ended up borrowing tons of ferns... I think 20 in all if I am not mistaken. They were absolutely huge and beautiful. Then because there had been an accidental conflict of wedding and Mission's Conference, the folks in our church pitched right in and helped us in every possible way. It was pretty overwhelming all the help we received. Overwhelming in the sense that I felt humbled by the LOVE shown us. The sacrificial help they all gave was so touching! They made our load light...literally. When I heard that we had to take down Mission's Conf decorations after church Friday night, decorate for the wedding, and put everything back up on Saturday night I almost panicked and was literally on the verge of tears.... However, there were so many willing and helping hands I just couldn't believe how fast everything came down and went back up again. I I did a lot of directing and yet I literally ran from one place to another for two days...Friday morning we were able to decorate for the reception and then Friday night in the sanctuary. I thought we might get home by 1 or 2AM....we left the church fully decorated at 10:30PM!!! Weary, it is true, but all major work done and only tiny details needed in the reception area. My sister, Teri, and her husband, my Aunt Carol, and niece Jennifer came from Texas and were a HUGE help!! Dan's sisters, Sharon and Sarah came to the house one day and helped us with servers corsages that we made with artificial flowers. They turned out really pretty. Holly, Peter's wife, had come in the morning and did the corsage arranging, but didn't have time to put bows on....Sharon and Sarah came in the afternoon and put all the bows on each one for us, while I was doing the arrangements for the tables. My original plan was for me to do it all...but my time literally flew and I just didn't get them done. Then on the day of the wedding, Jennifer, Holly and Teri helped me made the boutineers for the groomsmen and ushers with carnations and the bridesmaids bouquets with white roses and freesia. I ended up doing the first one of each one and then somebody came in and rushed me out to dress while they did all the rest. Teri helped me do my hair and Priscilla has lots of helpers for her dressing. Stephanie, one of our church pianists, and probably her best friend at Central, offered to give her a french manicure that morning so it would be fresh. Then Rachel did her make-up, and Jessica her hair. I put her dress on for her and did all the buttons. Cody's sister, Kim, who was also a bridesmaid, polished my nails at the last minute for me. It was kind of wild...but oh so much fun. I like big groups and doing things together... have done it most of my life with all my children and our big families.
Right before we got back this time Central redid the balcony in our sanctuary and they have entrance stairs right into the auditorium now. So the Bride and all the bridesmaids waited up there and came down the stairs for the Bridal March. It turned out soooo pretty. The best part was they were out of the way of all the activity until they walked down the aisle. Oh, another thing, Stephanie Davidson also made a cute little alcove retreat for Cody and Priscilla. As soon as they went out, everyone headed back upstairs to be ready for pictures as soon as possible. She put a small curtain over a small alcove and put a table with some punch, a few snacks and a cute little seat for them to relax for about 15 minutes. You will see it in the pictures. A good friend did the catering for the reception for me. Such a huge blessing!!
Everything went off very well. Janell ended singing a solo almost at the last minute...the last week before the wedding anyway. The song Priscilla originally chose was just too hard to get together in such a short space of time. When she found that one, Janell knew it more or less and it was a pretty simple song, too. I have a clip of the song on my video list.
The honeymooners got back safely. They showed up at Ebenezer Baptist Church, (where Dad and Mom are members) on Easter Sunday morning. All of us had gone there to be with Dan's folks and Sarah, Dan's sister, was still here. We knew they were coming for the meal, but didn't know they would show up at church... it was so nice... they capped our pew off. Dan and me at one end the two girls and Cody and Priscilla at the other! They looked happy and
radiant!! They caught us up on all their ramblings. Cody literally took them on a honeymoon tour in Alabama.
This is a short account of the highlights....so much more I could write but the pictures tell quite a bit.
Back to Mozam
These are pictures that we took when we returned to Mozambique last fall. Our home where we lived and pictures of our missionary friends, and our brethren in our church.

Dona Matilda( Aninha's mother)
This lady was our neighbor when we lived in Machava. Her daughter was saved while we were living there. When we went back to the US for Priscilla's wedding she was sick unto death and we thought we would never see her again. We prayed for her and with her and talked to her about the Lord. When we got back we found that she was doing so much better and was recuperating. She has been going to church at Trevo since September in Bro. Martinasio's car. She WALKED to church for the Fellowship meeting... 45 minutes! What a blessing
