Welcome to the website for the Saint Andrew's Society of Upper South Carolina, based out of Greenville, SC. Established in 1976, the purpose of the Society is to promote and perpetuate awareness and appreciation of Scottish history, heritage, traditions and contributions of Scotland and Scots in the upstate of South Carolina, throughout the nation and around the world. The Society promotes social intercourse and cooperation among its members, to support Scottish heritage and welfare through appropriate sponsorship of events, individuals, groups and organizations who share our heritage and purpose. We promote the growth of Scottish organizations, including the Pipe Band of Greenville SC and The Greenville Scottish Games held annually at Furman University.[Map] We support and host a number of Scottish events, such as an annual Tartan Ball in October, the annual Burn's Night Supper in January, and a Kirkin' o' the Tartan in the spring.
