Final part of J&L visit

Photos taken during the final part of their stay - visiting with my parents, Jethro reunited with Gerry and Loretta travels to Oregon enroute to Allison and Washington

A family visit

My parents came down to visit in April, so they got to meet Jethro and Loretta.  Here's mom and dad with the dogs in the back yard.

BATH TIME - Jethro

The weather was warm, so I decided to give Jethro and Loretta a bath at home.  It only took me 45 minutes to bathe them both. Easy!

Time to dry off

Loretta's turn

I can't believe I didn't take any pictures of both of them when they were all squeaky clean and dry!

Jethro reunited with Gerry

Saying goodbye to Jethro

While it was fun to meet Gerry and see her reunited with Jethro, it was also hard to see him go.  He's such a sweet boy!  I'm hopeful I'll get to see him again someday (and I'm curious how he'll react to me!).

LORETTA

I was worried about how Loretta would react to being separated from her brother for the very first time.  Would I have to deal with separation anxiety issues?   Her response can be seen in the photo to the left - all was well.  Sorry Jethro, but she didn't seem to miss you much at all - except when it came time to play in the back yard.  Then she missed a running/chasing partner.

Loretta was a good little traveler on our trip up to Oregon to meet Allison.  She even realized she was going to need to pee and poop while on leash (a big deal!).  She seemed to follow Ethan's lead, and settled right in at the motel.  The only bummer was the it was pouring RAIN.  Ugh.  I left the dogs loose in the room really quickly to get something from the van, and when I came back in the hallway, I heard barking.  Oh  no!  I raced down the hall, thinking Loretta was barking - but as I got closer to my room, I could tell it was someone else's dog, the source was not from my room!  Loretta and Ethan were cool as cucumbers waiting for me!

I had brought a crate inside just in case I didn't feel comfortable letting Loretta be loose during the night.  But knowing where she was wasn't a problem - as she was curled up sleeping right next to my head all night!

The next day, we got up to pouring rain again, but drove out of it as we drove north.  The exchange with Allison happened so quickly that I didn't end up getting any photos.  It was hard for me to say goodbye, but I knew Loretta would be well cared for, and I have hopes that I'll get to see her again someday.
