Getting settled
We tried walking on a coupler attached to a Flexi lead - but most of the time one dog wanted to walk on one side of me, and the other dog wanted the other side - and I got pushed from behind with the coupler! We tried six foot leashes as well, and they walked right behind me - something I'm NOT used to! I'm used to seeing my dogs out front!
Then it started RAINING and photo opportunities are limited...except for photos of the dogs making themselves at home on my bed.
They're not eating as well as I'd like, but they're getting more and more comfortable and they sure are sweet!
The dogs had been with me in the van while I ran some errands. Loretta and Jethro each got to come into Pawsaratti's pet supply store, (but I didn't bring my camera with me - rats!). By the time I ran a few more errands, Jethro had enough of vehicle travel and upchucked. Poor Jethro!
It was a bit rough going at first when we started out on our walk around Spring Lake. Ethan was charging out ahead as usual, and Jethro and Loretta wanted to be at my heels - first one side of me and then the other, then Jethro tried to get in front but would stop dead in his tracks from time to time and I would run into him...yike!
But about half way around the lake, things smoothed out, and they were both walking nicely on my left side. This is the FIRST time I've been around Spring Lake without anyone asking about Ethan. This time they were all commenting on the "longhaired greyhounds", or "they look like Saluki's", etc. Even a park ranger who knows me and my dogs stopped to say hello and hazard a guess at what kind of dogs they are. They are quite striking - especially when they are together moving in unison!
We got home and Jethro went straight into his expen for a nap! BOTH dogs cleaned their plates tonight at dinner! Good dogs!!!
