Mocha had her breakfast served to her inside a Kong toy this morning. She seemed to really enjoy it. She hadn't finished it all by the time I got up so we brought it outside for a bit so she could dine al fresco.
I have a platform/slide out table in my van that the dogs use to get into and out of the crates. I've been asking Mocha to jump up on the platform on her own. Unfortunately, one of the first time she tried, she fell, as she started too close to the edge. Now she's a little more careful. When she sees me put the treats just out of reach, she gives a little vocalization and then jumps up light as a feather to snatch it up.
When she gets out of the crate she's asked to wait in the crate, then invited down to the platform, then I lift her down the rest of the way to the ground. (Not that she couldn't do it, but I always do this for my puppies and older dogs.)
Today was Ethan's agility class day. Mocha came with us of course, as it was plenty cool enough for her to wait in the van during class. I knew there would be a lot of friendly people and dogs for her to meet and greet before and after class.
She also had the chance to meet and greet a much LARGER kind of being - my agility instructor's horse, "Annie". They were very curious about each other. Just missed the photo of their noses touching. It was cute.
Here are some of the people and dogs she met. You can tell I'm not being very good about discouraging her from jumping up (sorry Karen!) I just love the enthusiasm she has when she says hello.
We did a little bit more clicker training for the sit today. We worked on the platform of the van which means she can't keep scooting forward, which means she thought more about bringing her bottom underneath her. She was happy to earn all the treats.
I found out from Karen that she had already been introduced to the clicker before coming for a visit. No wonder it was so easy, she was already ahead of the game!
