Fr. O'Hara's Reception

On Sunday, June 17th, Fr. John O'Hara, the pastor of St. Teresa's and our pack's sponsor, presided over his last official mass at this parish. Led into the church by an Honor Guard of Boy Scouts from Troop 37 and Cub Scouts of Pack 37, Fr. O'Hara was followed by Monsignor Finn, our own parish priests and various interfaith ministers and rabbis. After the mass, a reception for Fr. O'Hara took place at Conran Hall, where he was greeted by parishoners, dignitaries, family members and the numerous organizations that have thrived under his stay here as pastor. The Cub Scout and Boy Scout organizations of the parish presented him with a statue of St. George, the Patron Saint of Scouting. The statue had the inscription:

Saint Teresa's Pack 37

Welcome to Staten Island's Saint Teresa's Pack 37 Cub Scout site. This pack needs adult volunteers in a bad way. In 18 months, the leaders and committee members associated with the Jr. and Sr. Webelos will no longer be with us. They have a wealth of knowledge that needs to be passed down to new leaders. Currently, we have vacant committee positions that need to be filled in order for this pack to continue. The depth of the volunteers in this pack has always been among its' strengths. We need to carry this tradition on for our scouts. If you wish to become more involved, please see any of the leaders or committee members.
