Make sure you have a library card from a public library, so you can continue to check out books all summer long! Many public libraries have wonderful summer reading programs with fun activities for children of all ages.
South Jackson library books were due on Friday, May 4th. Don't worry, your teacher will continue to check out books for you to read in your classroom!
Our students participated in the Pizza Hut Book It reading promotion. This program allows students to earn a free personal pan pizza once a month October through March for meeting the reading goal set by their teacher. Parents can learn more about this reading program and the importance reading plays in the life of children by visiting the Book It website http://www.bookitprogram.com/Parents/index.asp .
We also participated in the Six Flags Read-to-Succeed reading promotion. Students who read for 6 hours above and beyond reading required for school earned a free ticket to Six Flags Over Georgia! This program started in October and reading logs were due in February. Tickets will go home with students May 13th or 14th. Visit their website http://readtosucceed.discoveryeducation.com/parents.cfm to learn more about this program.
