It was taken at a Wrigley Field Cubs game in 1969. My father, brother and I sitting in left field seats, pause to look at a stranger holding my dad's camera. But notice in the middle of the background, a young father in red and white stripes holds his toddler and stares right at my cameraman and smiles! His also smiling wife sits beside him holding a younger baby! This happy father knew a photo was being taken and chose to become a part of it. Who is he??? Will we ever know??

Hey Vickie...
To use simple path you have to go to "My Pictures" and make and album and share it. After you share it look to the right hand side of the page and it will show you a book completed. Look at it and see what simple path already done for you. After viewing the book you it will ask if you want to customize it. Click on that and it will show you all of the "styles" you can change your book too. After that I know once you play with it you will get it. It is a very simple version of "custom book" what we are used to using. I hope that helps....:)

Welcome back Vickie. I'm sure life has been a bit crazy with getting ready for school. Exciting busy time. Fall is for sure in the air. I love the coolness in the morning. I can do without the long winter months. Our weather was hot, windy and humid then cooled off like 40 degrees. I just saw your Fred Rogers page and the link. I checked my daily TV line-up, and he isn't on in my area either. How sad. i grew up with him as so many others did. Kids these days NEED him. I can't believe all the crap on TV. What happened to the good 'ol days where TV for kids was wholesome and educational.

Thank you so much, Cheryl. It is so amazing what can be done for the earliest of preemies these days. I also had a premature baby, but back in 1980!. He was born at 34 weeks and had breathing issues but did not have as large of a battle as little Simon is facing. But today, Simon is in good hands. In 1980, little Simon would not have had the skilled care that is available now. They just know so much more about bringing these littles ones safely through this traumatic stage than they did back then.
P.S. I'd love to see photos of little Brandon if you have them! He is truly a miracle!

Oh I love old photos! I, also, noticed the photo of the your friends precious little one. I will say a prayer. I have watched the miracle of medical technology first hand with the birth of my niece and nephew who were born at 26 weeks. They were so tiny and looked so plastic. Little Brandon was 1 lb. 14 oz and his sister, Rhiannon, was 1 lb. 12 ozs. Sadly, my niece only lived five days. However, my nephew will be 5 in January. What a precious miracle. His eye sight is perfect, and will eventually catch up to other kids his age. He has no long term affects of his premature birth, with exception to the possibility of ADHD. He has a very short attention span. It is such a scary time having no idea what to expect from day to day. My many thoughts and prayers will be with the family. I am off to hop a few more sites before bed. Very nice site!

I love your site! I'm currently working on a photo book for my mother in law for her 80th birthday. I have had several wonderful but damaged photos that I've had to attempt to digitally restore and when it's finished it is so rewarding. You are very brave ... perhaps a share site dedicated to parenting might be an idea? ;) I am very impressed with your addition of videos. How did you do that? I can't seem to get it right on my site ... do you have any advice for me?

Yes, Joanna. I do have six kids. I promise you will meet them via Shutterfly books as soon as possible. Sage is my only little one though. Since she was born in the digital age, it has been so easy to document her sweet milestones in "real time."
I just finished a 12x12 book that is mostly a photo album with very little journaling. It is a new version of Slides and Snaps which includes many newly scanned vintage snapshots. It is my segue into completing books on my own kids because I've ended it with a hint of the next generation to come by focusing on my firstborn child, Amy. I gave her a dedicated page to end the book.
I've been going way back into past generations to get up to date before digging into my current family. I will have to scan everything to do books on them and I am also having difficulty scanning modern color photos. I get a lot of banding or striations of color that are distracting. I'm thinking I need a computer and scanner upgrade to fix the problem before proceeding otherwise I would have been on this already! Wish me luck in figuring out my scanning issues!

Thank you so much for the nice comment on my site and for the nice comment on my bday book; which i was really hesitant to post. I think you are so brilliant with your site and adding videos etc. I have a lot more i'm trying to figure out as welll. Like posting the actual photobooks. You need to add a widget to them to somehow embed the photobook. Tiffany (bradeydensmom) is really good at this. I tried yesterday but i can't figure it out. As far as posting peoples web pages or book link, you click on 'add bookmark', then go to type in your web address for an example, then the title in the line below would be whatever you name it. Then to add one of your books or others, just highlight the URL link and click on copy then go to your website, click on bookmark (you may want to title this bookmark Photobbooks; or what you wish), then you paste your URL link in the link box and add a title and this is what will show up. It is a lot of copying and pasting. I hope this wasn't too confusing. Tiffany and Rachel are good people to ask. I'm still learning.
It's so fun to see pictures of your world. Can't wait to see more of your kids. Sage is VERY smart for 4. Her little voice melts me. Didn't you say you have 6 kids? Enjoy your Sunday!

Vickie, I love your site. You are so talented. Everyone will be asking you for help. I love what you wrote in your welcome message. You have a gift of story telling. I am so inspired by you and ALL of your work. I just watched all of Sage's video's. LOVE LOVE them and what a doll she is. She just melted my heart. Isn't it amazing how children can retain so much information. She's a smart little one, must take after her creative mommy. How old is she?
