This fall has flown by for our family, especially me. I have been busy at work, scouts and school. I am almost done with school. My last series of Tues night classes will be done the week of Christmas. I will have two more brief courses in the Spring and will have completed my "CMV Safety Certificate". I think the kids will be happy having me around more.
We had a fantastic dinner tonight celebrating Friday night at TGI Fridays. Home now in my favorite leggings, fuzzy slippers surrounded by the smells of my son making peppermint bark and the sounds of Christmas movies and Popeye cartoons in the house. Posting a few more pics. TTFN!
Boy has time flown since I last posted anything new on our website. Lots of new pics to highlight our summer fun. I am sad that summer has gone by so fast, but it's a good thing school is back in session and the routine of school will be a good thing.
Posting our summer fun and Kate's birthday pictures on the "what's new" page. See you soon!
Well, time has flown since I last logged an entry. April and Traca went home from April recouperating from her surgery. She is healing well, by the way. It's been over a month since I have checked in and updated pictures. We've been busy with Scouts, school, work and some fun with friends.
Boy Scouts has been keeping us busy--which we love, so it's worth the stress of being busy. Charlie and the Troop participated in the annual event Waligazu. Check out the pictures. The Monkey Patrol actually achieved excellence in all five catagories, the only patrol from T419 to do so this year. Charlie practiced his first aid skills with his brother and sisters the night before the competition. Marshall celebrated another birthday and we had a late dinner for him to celebrate. It worked out perfectly for all of us and was so nice to have the kids together. Charlie and Scott also helped with the Troops Maple Syruping this Spring. They went up to set taps in the trees the first Sunday of Spring break. Very fruitful year syruping this year with the troop. He also put together a movie to present the Troop at the March Court of Honor.
Girl Scouts has been awesome too!! Watching these girls interact together has been SO much fun!! Pictures of our girly crafting fun posted here. We have almost completed our Girl Scout year, only one more advancement to achieve and the girls will be ready for thier big bridging ceremony when they will become Brownies. Wow! That two year program flew by!
Fun with friends this month was had by hosting a Pampered Chef party at the end of Feb. Thanks to all of you who made that party successful!! We were blessed by our good friends and also watched as the US Mens Hockey fall to the Canadians in the Gold medal round. It was quite a day. I was also fortunate that the Scout Ski day cancelled due to the weather being TOO warm and melting the snow. I ended up having Dina and Mary for a day of crafting fun ending the awesome day with a chick flick "Julie and Julia". LOVED the movie!
Our fun now is getting ready to make Easter inspired cookies with fun icing and sprinkles. We are boiling the 20 or so gallons of sap we have collected from our tree and that the Troop brought back from Danger Lake for us. Our tree hasn't had a good run yet this Spring. Am keeping my fingers crossed that it will still happen.
Check out the pictures from our fun this past month and enjoy!
As sad as we are to see April go home, this is a good thing as this means she's feeling better and can take care of herself. The time she's been here has gone fast and she's looking and feeling much better. I have added some pictures and will take new ones today. She has an incredible circle of friends that have helped keep her spirits up. Mushy food will be her diet for another six weeks, but the time will go by fast I am sure.
April going home means Traca will be going home also...another sad moment. It's been SO wonderful having her here. She's been a great influence on Kate and Charlie keeping them in line and making sure they are doing thier homework and thier chores.
Marshall's Birthday was Weds. We'll have to set a date for all of the kids to come and have his birthday dinner so I am sure it won't be too long before we do this.
Today is bath day for Rosie---this should be interesting and messy I am sure, but BOY does she stink. As she is a water lover, it will be interesting to see how wet we get. :0)
Loving being home today and will take advantage it by unearthing my counters and doing laundry....a good thing by far!!! Signing off for now.
April is scheduled for her jaw surgery Feb 1st. SO for fun, I called her and asked her to dinner and would make her favorite dinner--Swedish Meatballs and mashed potatoes. Her addition was Champagne for a beverage--a combination I wasn't so sure about until we had it. Not bad. Marsh, Angie and Traca joined us also and we played Wii until midnight! My favorite picture is April Big Game Hunting with her glass of Champagne in one hand. Lots of laughter and a bit of family competition made for a great start to our weekend.
Kate and I had a lovely afternoon baking Valentines Cut out cookies and decorating them with festive sprinkles and icing. We also got a jump start on her Valentines for her parties at daycare and school. She choose bookmarks this year. Will have to post pictures of the fun when I have a minute.
Scott spent the entire day playing Dryer repairman. Boy--the deeper he got into the repair, the more I relized just how much our guardian angels were looking down upon us. We could have had a very serious house fire with the damage we had, if it had not been for the fact that something, most likely the overheated dryer, tripped the breaker, it would have been a horrible fire. Dryer is now up and running and I am very thankful that I can do laundry again! Whoop! Whoop!
Today is a busy day. Off to my first Eagle Board of Review at 2pm and Camporee Committee meeting tonignt at 7pm. Charlie is working on his Tree identifiction, First Aide worksheet and going to fill our house with the fabulous sounds he makes with his trumpet.
Well, it's been a week of "catch" up for us. After staying up late on Sunday night trying to recouperate from the MN Viking's losing the NFC Championship game and our dryer dying all at the same time. Monday brought us a busy night. We had the West Side Band Concert in which Charlie was participating. What a pleasure it was to see the progression of the bands from 5th grade all the way up to the IHS Concert Band. Check out "What's New" page for links to the concert. Talk about a fun night! Seeing the progression of the bands from 5th grade all the way up to the IHS Concert band was something! It was pretty painful to listen to those 5th and 6th graders! Kate actually fell asleep during the 8th grader's playing a Souza march. Check out the video of the 5th grader who enthusiastically enjoyed the Souza march! Sorry it's shaky, I couldn't contain my laughter!!
The rest of the week has been spent trying to fix the dryer and the broken handle on the dishwasher--carma. It's a blessing Scott is SO tallented!
We're one day away from Friday and my wishing the week away did make it go faster. Looking forward to Swedish Meatballs and Champagne with April tomorrow night.
