New basketball court
The Ellsworth Elementary PTO was awarded a $1349.80 grant from the Smoky Hills Community Fund to provide support for the installation of a new basketball court at the playground for the Ellsworth Elementary School.

The work on the new basketball courts began on August 10th, 2010, and was completed around September 3rd, 2010. It has been a wonderful addtion to the new playground at the Elementary School and downtown.

"In my original request, I said that my expected results should be that the basketball court will serve the children in our school system and also the community for many years to come. Any day of the week you can drive by the playground and it is not only full of children playing, but it has also become a gathering spot for parents to take their children to play after school hours. I really feel like we have created a safe, secure place for our children to get outside and play."
