Toro successfully obtained his third qualifying score in Novice Level Rally Obedience on June 5, to become the first Snowventure dog to get an R.N. title. He is also the first dual titled Snowventure dog. See below for a partial video of Toro's rally run on June 5.

Today we put together Toro's first canine freestyle routine and put it to music. I'm still learning the sequence, but Toro followed my lead very well until I got confused!

So for the next couple days I will practice without him! Hopefully next week Nina can get some more video of us, putting it all together successfully, but for now enjoy the few candid shots and two short video clips of us learning.

 

Taio had his first expereince skijoring today. At first he didn't understand what was holding back (the skijoring line) but after pairing him up with seasoned veteran Oni, he got the hang of it quickly!!

 

By the end of the one mile run, he knew to stay in front and keep the line tight!!

Taio had a great time visiting my friend Melissa's farm. He got his first chance to work some sheep. Looks as though Taio has some natural ability.

 

I was impressed how Taio decided all on his own to box them into the one corner where he found it the easiest to keep them from running. He moved them in behind the shed and would then run back and forth to either end of the shed, keeping them penned in the corner.

 

Sadly my batteries on my camera started to die, so I didn't get as much video as I would have liked. But there is one pretty good one of him at the beginning of him working the sheep.

Not sure what brought it on, maybe the cold weather, but today the mals initiated an all out play session with Taio.

So I guess he is NOW offically part of the pack! It was really fun to watch the four of them all wrestle and chase each other.

Today Taio went for his first swim in the pond with "big brother" Saga! Taio had lots of fun retrieving sticks and even went under water for a few seconds on one of his retrieves. It took him by surprise but didn't stop him!! He went right back to jumping in!
