"The Light Before Christmas". Join Beaker and the gang as they prepare for their Science class Christmas party. While decorating, lighting the tree, and listening to their teacher, the children begin to understand more fully why we celebrate Christmas and how the birth of Jesus Christ was not the beginning of the stroy but actually the middle of a larger narrative.

Easter Week Activities
Join us Easter Weekend: Good Friday service is April 2nd at 7 pm in the Worship Center. Free Children's Eggstravaganza with an egg hunt and bounce house is Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 am. And join together with many Vacaville congregations on Sunday at 6:30 am for our Easter Sunrise Service.

Souperbowl at the SonRise Event Center
Join us for the big game on Sunday, February 7th. Kickoff is 3:25 pm. Bring a crockpot of your favorite soup, or anything you want to munch on: pizza, chips, dessert - whatever! Round tables will be set up, and it will be a casual, family atmosphere. If the game doesn't interest you, you can still enjoy the fellowship, or bring a board game!

Health Fair and Concert
On Saturday, February 6th, SonRise is hosting a free Health Fair, followed by a free concert featuring Richard Andrew. The Health Fair will run from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, and the concert begins at 6:00 pm.
Fall Family Festival on Halloween
Plan for a fun, safe, candy-and-food-filled Halloween by spending it at SonRise Community Fellowship's Fall Family Festival. Between 5:00 and 8:00 pm on October 31st, SonRise is hosting a FREE event for families. With Air Inflatables, Face Painting, Games, Costume Contests, Chili, Popcorn, Dessert, and Candy, Candy, Candy - all for FREE - SonRise is the place to be! Our huge grass area will be filled with tents and surrounded by decorated cars with trunks filled with candy for trick-or-treating ... we call it Trunk-or-Treating! Come have safe, family fun with us! It's the Fall Family Festival, 5-8pm on Halloween. 620 Orange Drive in Vacaville, across from the DMV. Hotdogs and soda are also available for a dollar if the free candy and chili doesn't fill you up.

It's a Birthday Party
This is the weekend to celebrate Doniese Roberts' Birthday! Join us on October 4th in the Event Center after Pastor Dean's sermon on "What's in it for Me?" As Children's Pastor, Doniese asked this event to be kid-friendly, so we're grilling hamburgers, hotdogs, and bringing some pizza. Of course, there will be chocolate cake! Last names A-M can bring another dish, and N-Z a side dish. Substituting a dessert is never wrong! And be ready to show off your Wii skills (or at least be entertained by some of our kids' skills!)
80's Weekend
On Saturday, September 19th, SonRise Teens will meet at 6pm dressed in a 1980's sense of style (?), ready to caravan to four different houses for a Progressive Dinner. The whole church will jump on the 80's bandwagon for Sunday. Come on Sunday at 9:30 to show off your big hair and top-siders as we walk down memory lane with the 80's music. Pastor Dean will answer the question, "Why is Church So Important?".
Grandparents Sunday
Our SonRise Children's Department is hosting a Breakfast for Grandparents this Sunday, September 13th. Join us at 8:30 to be honored, and stay for our service at 9:30. Pastor Dean will be preaching on the Blessing of walking in the Spirit of God.
Witness the Blow Gun
Dr Larry and Addie Garman, Nazarene Missionaries to Peru, will join us Sunday Night, August 30th at 5:30 pm in the SonRise Event Center for a time of fellowship, information, and encouragement. Hear them share how Jesus Christ is changing hearts around the world. Finger foods.
Fiesta Sunday
Pastor Dean turns 50 this week - and we're celebrating on Sunday with his favorite thing: Mexican Food. Wear your sombrero to Sunday's 9:30am service and hear seven years of Dean's preaching condensed into one sermon. Then follow us to the banquet hall for the party. Bring a Mexican dish (or something else if spice isn't your thing), a card (with something in it), and help us celebrate. Check out the pic below for an idea of what's ahead Sunday....

Vacation Bible School is Rockin'!
There's still time to join the fun and learning at Vacation Bible School. Kids ages 4 thru 6th grade can find the clues to solve the Mystery of God's Great Plan by exploring an amazing museum. Friday night will be a special grand finale' from 6:00-8:30pm and on Sunday morning at 9:30, all ages can learn what was revealed during the week.

When Dr. Moishe Rosen, the very FOUNDER of "Jews for Jesus" walks into our church to speak on Sunday, July 26th, he could be very confused. The place is being transformed into a museum for Vacation Bible School, which begins the 27th. Come hear him speak, and come see the dinosaur, spaceship, aquarium, castle, cave, and much more! Wow!
Another Party!
On Satuday at 9:00 am, we're gathering for Men's Prayer Breakfast, Door-to-Door Outreach, or VBS Prayer and Decorating. If those don't work for you, there's always an opportunity for weed-pulling! So after all the Saturday ministry, we're celebrating on Sunday with Part 2 in Pastor Dean's series on Faith, then getting together for an all-church Pot Luck. Scott and Stephanie will appear for the first time as Mr and Mrs, and we're all going to get to know each other better. Last names A-M can bring a side dish, and N-Z a main dish. We've got the drinks and cake. Join us this weekend!

Tiffany Nygard is SonRise Community Fellowship's new Youth Pastor! A graduate of Northwest Nazarene University, she will soon be bringing her craziness and love of Jesus to Vacaville! Come to our 4th of July party (below) and Sunday service at 9:30 to hear more of this exciting news!

SonRise is joining with Templo La Hermosa for a 4th of July Celebration! We are grilling hamburgers and hotdogs, and they are making carne asada tacos - and we are definitely gonna share so we can get some tacos! Bring a side snack, something to drink, and a lawn chair to enjoy the great view of Vacaville's Fireworks Show. 721 Wesley in Vacaville.

Everyone is invited for food and fun after the Sunday service on May 31st as we send the Ousley Family off to Spain. Bring your homemade ice cream to compete for prizes (you can even make it at the event). As a guide (but we are flexible), last names of A-M bring a main dish, and N-Z please bring a salad or side dish.

SonRise New members!
SonRise welcomed our most recent members to the family during service on 10-05-08. Pastor Dean welcomed Orlando and Yvonne Garcia, Jeremiah and Mariam Schutz with a prayer, and lots of hugs!
We have moved into a new sanctuary!
We have officially celebrated our first service in the new sanctuary! (The former SOULS sanctuary)
The sanctuary is a work in progress, but thanks to Norm, Alan, Pastor Dean (and his parents), Rocky, and many many more, we were able to make the move. We still have much to do. If you are moved by the spirit to donate your time and/or your resources to help, please contact Rocky for more information.
