Soo Sweet Confections was an idea I had after I decided to marry my best friend and confidant back in 2005. To back up a little, in the Spring of 1999 I joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. with 4 other beautiful young ladies (Artina, Ebony, Cheri, and Alycia); hence the name Soo Sweet! I graduated from VCU with a degree in IT, but drawing was always my first love. So what better way to start a new hobby I thought, drawing and baking?
I am a passionate Cake Designer with a licensed home studio specializing in all things artistic. I have completed all 3 Wilton Courses under Gloria Johnathan, specialty classes at Sabot Culinary School, and received a Certificate of Culinary Arts from the University of Richmond in 2010. What sets me apart from the rest is that I never pass up an opportunity to educate myself! I stay on the cutting edge of what's new and eclectic in the world of cake! I have taken specialty classes and attended demonstrations by the worlds best cake artist from the Food Network, WeTV, and TLC. My style is clean, whimsy and eclectic looking cakes that you can't get anywhere else in the city. I hope you like what you see!
