PTO Minutes

Requests:                     

Ø  12.8.11 - PTO has requested that Eric get together a quote to present at the January meeting for 15 computers for the 2^nd grade.  The computers will be purchased using the profits from the fall trash bag sale.

Ø  12.8.11 – Mrs. Spence mentioned that the school may need assistance in the near future purchasing book sets for a new book room.

Ø  12.8.11 – Approved $200 to Mrs. Martin for the 4^th grade Indiana birthday celebration.

Old Business:                

Ø  501-C3 Status – 4.12.11 Submitted first round of paperwork.  Kelly and Sunshine working on getting our financial projections, expenses and revenues, for current year and next 2 years.  This is the next step in the paperwork process. – 5.11.11 waiting on approval of application. 9.8.11 Kelly is checking on this. 10.13.11 – Kelly recovered crashed computer information and resubmitted to 501-C3 Company.  Waiting on further instructions.  11.10.11 Kelly distributed bylaws to be reviewed and approved at the next meeting.  All PTO officers must submit a bio sketch.  Karmen will email samples to officers.  12.8.11 Tabled since Kelly was not present.

Ø  Trash Bag orders due 10.24.11 – PTO will count orders on 10.25.11 during P/T conferences 11.10.11 Trash bag distribution 11.16.11 3-5:30pm.  12.8.11 Profit was $5,311.60

Ø  Fundraiser information was given to Mrs. Spence from Sunny D.  10 labels for 10 scholastic books.  She will be looking into it further.  Coke Rewards was mentioned as a program to look into by Karen Webster.  Discussed that SEFE was a Pepsi school therefore this was tabled.

Ø  Discussed selling RADA again this year just for staff.  Karmen will be looking into setting this up.  11.10.11 Packets have been distributed to faculty – Order forms due 11.28.11 – Orders will be in no later than 12.19.11.

Ø  Mrs. Spence brought up the need to get the end of the year Field Day back to how it used to be.  Wanted PTO to try to organize this and get volunteers involved.  A PTO officer’s only meeting to be set up by the beginning of 2012 to begin brainstorming.  Suggestion of combining this with Relay for Life was also discussed.  11.10.11 PTO will schedule a meeting with Amber Carver.  12.8.11 Sunshine met with Mrs. Carver and she is going to give us all of her materials.  We will continue to discuss this at future meetings.
