FOOTBALL SEASON!!
It's about that time!! Practice is starting up again this week and it is time to start learning all of the cheers and chants that will be performed at games. Attached to this post is a list of all of the words for the 40 chants and 7 cheers (as of August 7th) for future reference. In addition to these, we have lots of sideline dances to learn and an assembly to prepare for. We have only 12 practices before the first football game on the 3rd!!

CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to our team for a great week at CheerLeadership Camp this summer! We came home with two leadership ribbons and a pin for each girl, plus a team spirit stick and lots of great material to use throughout the year!!
In addition, we had seven of our team members nominated for "All American Cheerleader" through the National Cheerleaders Association! It is a great accomplishment just to be nominated for the try out on Thursday night. All nominees are eligible for the NCA & NDA Christmas Extravaganza held in Florida this winter.
We had three girls make the All American Team, which gives them the opportunity to travel to London, England to join other cheerleaders in the New Year's Day Parade. New this year, thanks to the WA State Cheer Coaches Association, these girls will also have the pleasure of performing the Camp Cheer and Spirit Dance in an exhibition routine at the WIAA State Cheerleading Championship. What a great way for Spanaway Lake to showcase our amazing talent!
NEW TEAM DINNER!!!
We had so much fun hanging out with our new family members and hope everyone had a good time!
Thank you all for coming to spend some time bonding with your new team members! Upload any pictures you have on here for everyone to share! Mine will be up shortly - hopefully tonight!!
INFORMATIONAL MEETING ADDED
There has been an informational meeting added on Thursday, March 18th at 6:30pm. This is not
mandatory, though it is HIGHLY recommended as we will review all paperwork that must be completed and cleared the following Wednesday at the mandatory meeting.
We look forward to seeing everyone there on Thursday night!
Additional Information
While we will be going over it at the parent meeting on the 24th, the school district's information about cheerleading has also been uploaded to our website.
These forms will be distributed, signed, and collected at the parent meeting, but if you would like to get a head start, they are available for download! You can find them attached to this entry or in the upper right hand corner under Files/documents.

Try Outs will be here before you know it!!
Don't forget about Cheer try outs on March 29th!!! All of your paperwork has to be to Melissa and Rachelle before or at the MANDATORY parent meeting the Wednesday before - March 24th!
Tell your friends - we want to meet everyone with Sentinel spirit and those who want to boost morale as we go back to our new remodeled school!!
Remind them that cheer isn't just cheering at games... we stunt, tumble, dance, AND cheer! No experience is necessary but HEART and a willingness to learn and be great is!
Contact Melissa or Rachelle with any questions - we hope to see everyone on the 24th!
