Stetson Named 'School of the Year'

It was voted on by a district committee that Stetson Hills Athletics has been awarded the 2011-12 Pursuing Victory With Honor 'School of the Year' award. We were chosen for this prestigious award over all other 37 schools in the district for our hard work in the classroom, charity work, supportive parents/faculty, Booster Club involvement, achievements on the court/field, and personal character on and off the court. Congratulations to everyone involved in Stetson Hills Athletics this year. We couldn't have done it without you!!

Baseball/Softball finish with trophies

The Softball team finished a great season going 13-1 with a District runner-up trophy in the Division I tournament. The baseball team finished with a 9-4 record and a Division II championship.

Baseball/Softball in full swing

The softball team currently(4/2) has a perfect record to date with a 5-0 in conference, 8-0 overall record. The baseball team has a 3-2 conference record, with a 5-3 overall record.

Cheer Girls take 2nd at state

Congratulations to the Coach L. and the Spiritline girls for getting 2nd at their State competition.

Adopt-A-Family Gift Delivery

On Monday, Dec. 19th the boys/girls/cheer teams all delivered gifts and food to the Alcantar family for Christmas. The family was overwhelmed by everyones generosity. Thank you to everyone who participated in the event!

Basketball at the Break

As the teams go into the winter break the boys basketball team has a conference record of 2-2 and the girls have a record of 3-1. Their next home game is Tuesday, January 17th.

Congratulations Boys/Girls Volleyball

The boys and girls volleyball teams finished a terrific season on October 27th. The boys finished District runner-up with a record of 12-1 and the girls also finished as District Runner-up with an 11-2 record.

Suzanne Murphy Memorial Game Huge Success

The 1st Annual Suzanne Memorial staff volleyball game was a huge success. The athletic booster club raised $714 to donate to Team Suzanne. Thank you to all the teachers, players, parents, and volunteers who helped make it all happen.

Boys/Girls teams shine at tourney

The Girls team took 2nd place at the O'Connor middle school tournament and the boys team won the Championship at the Boulder Creek middle school tournament.

Faculty vs. Students volleyball game

On Thursday, Sept. 29th at 5:30 PM the Suzanne Murphy Memorial volleyball game will be held in the Stetson Hills gym. It will be a "Pink Out" to kick off breast cancer awareness month. Proceeds will benefit Team Suzanne.

Great Start for the 2011 Volleyball Season

The boys and girls volleyball teams have started the season out 3-0 each with wins over Paseo Hills, Sierra Verde, and Terramar.

Meet the Coaches night

We are hosting a "Meet the Coaches" night in the Stetson Hills gym on Tuesday, August 16th from 5:00PM - 6:00PM. This will be a good opportunity to introduce yourself and meet the coaches of Stetson Hills face-to-face. There will also be schedules and season information there as well.

2nd Place

The boys basketball team finished with a record of 12-3 and 2nd place in the District tournament. Way to go boys!

Basketball has great start

The girls basketball team has started their season with a 2-3 record with decisive wins over Paseo Hills and Norterra Canyon. The boys basketball team has started their season 5-0, including two nail biting overtime wins against Paseo Hills and Gavilan Peak.

CHAMPIONS! X 2

The Stetson Hills boys and girls volleyball teams finished an unprecedented season this past Monday. Both teams finished the season undefeated with a combined record of 28-0 and each won their district Championship. This was actually the second tournament that the teams won this season. Earlier in the year the teams each won their junior high invitational tournaments without losing a game. They are not only great players, but great students of character. The teams came together to donate some of their used clothes to a local school in need. It was truly an awesome season on and off of the court. GO STALLIONS!

An unmatched regular season.

At the end of the regular season the boys and girls volleyball teams remain unbeaten, combining for a 22-0 record. They enter the post-season tournament as the district #1 seeds and both poised to make a strong run at the district championship.

Volleyball has fast start

Both the boys and girls volleyball teams have had a successful start to the new season. Both teams have a record of 4-0 and have not even lost a set. Keep up the hard work!

2010 - 2011 SH Athletics

Welcome back to the new school year. It is going to be another awesome year for Stetson Hills' Athletics. Don't miss our 'Meet the Coaches' night on Thurs, Aug. 19th at 6:00pm. The first day of volleyball try-outs will be Mon, August 23rd after school until 5:30. Everyone needs to have their physical form turned in before they are allowed to try-out. The try-outs are closed to spectators.

State Runner-Up

Congratulations to the girls softball team for an outstanding season. District Champions and State Tourney runner-up. Stallion softball ROCKS!

Baseball/Softball CHAMPS!

The baseball and softball teams completed there perfect seasons with a combined record of 26-0 taking home 1st place in the district tournament. The baseball score was 5-2 and the softball score was 7-6 with a bottom of the 6th rally from our Lady Stallions. Congratulations to both teams! You're AWESOME!!

Baseball/Softball 20-0

The baseball and softball teams dominated the regular season finishing with a combined record of 20-0. The baseball teams first playoff game is April, 22 and the softball's first playoff game is April, 26th.

Baseball/Softball Charity Work

The spring sports will be filling Easter baskets for needy children. The student-athletes are asked to bring in items to fill an Easter basket by Thursday, March 11th. Then the baseball and softball players will gather on Friday, March 12th after school to collaboratively put their own individual basket together. Baseball/Softball Season

The Spring sports begin try-outs Monday, February 1st after school. Students interested in trying out for either need to make sure that they have an updated physical form in to Coach Backstrom before the first day of try-outs.

Staff vs. Kids Basketball game

The 4th Annual SH Staff vs. kids basketball game has been scheduled for February 11th at 6:00pm.

Spiritline Spirit Night

Thank you to all who went out to Chik-fil-a to support the SH cheer squad. It was a huge success!

SH Athletics 'Adopts-A-Family'

The athletic booster club and winter sports teams have adopted a needy family for the holidays. We will be collecting gifts for the family and hand delivering them to the family on Thursday, Dec. 17th at 3:15. If you would like to be involved please email ryan.backstrom@dvusd.org.

At the Break

The SH basketball teams have reached the Cristmas break with a successful first half under their belts. The girls team just won a phenominal double overtime game verses Sierra Verde moving their record to 3-3. The boys team took care of business against Sierra Verde also, moving their record to an impressive 5-1.

B-Ball Kicks Off

The basketball season is 3 games underway. The girls team has started with a 1-2 record, but showing promise to have a successful season. The boys team is standing tall with an early season record of 3-0. Next home game is Thursday, Dec. 3rd.

Tournament Champions!!!

The girls team took first overall by beating Gavilan Peak in 2 straight sets. The lady Stallions complete a perfect season with a record of 13-0. Way to go girls. We are all very proud of what you've accomplished.

Runner-up

The boys volleyball team came out strong against Diamond Canyon in the Championship game taking the first set. They went on to drop the 2nd and 3rd sets ultimately losing a heartbreaker in the championship. The boys finished with a record of 12-1 with a tournament runner up trophy. Great season boys!!

Headed to the 'SHIP

The girls and boys volleyball teams advanced to the championship game after impressive wins over Terremar. The championship games start at 4:15 on Monday, October 19th at Boulder Creek High School. The girls play first, followed by the boys game.

Unbeaten!!!

The girl's and boy's volleyball team finished the regular season undefeated with a combined record of 20-0. Next up for the Stallions is the post season tournament starting 10/14.

BBall/Spiritline Tryouts

Boys basketball and spiritline try-outs will be on Monday, October 26th after school. Girls basketball try-outs will be on Thursday, October 29th after school. All students wanting to try-out need to have their pysical form and parent permission/insurance info turned in to the coach before the first day of try-outs.

Game Rescheduled

The game at Paseo Hills has been rescheduled for Monday, Oct. 5th. The girls play first and the boys play second.

On A Roll

Both the boys and girls volleyball teams continue their winning ways last night against Terremar. Both teams stay unbeaten with records of 5-0.

Champions!

The boys volleyball team took 1st place at the Grand Canyon Invitational volleyball tournament on September 19th. The boys played great and only lost one set all day. Congratulations!
