MANGO Autumn/Winter '08- '09 catwalk in Istanbul

MANGO presents its new Autumn/Winter 08-09 collection in the Four Seasons Hotel the Bosphorus in Istanbul. The show is hosted by the beautiful dancer and actress Monica Cruz, which is the face of MANGO this season together with her sister Penelope. Nuno Lopes, the new face of HE by MANGO will take part in the catwalk, showcasing the latest menswear collection. In the after party, the guests will enjoy the special performance of model and singer Ayşe Hatun Önal, and the music of DJ Suat Ateşdağli. The collection has been named ROMANCE because of the feminine touch in the garment details and its romantic floral mood (flowers in aquarelle or ikat and paisley prints). The collection plays with a contrast between femininity and masculine elements, such as leather jackets with a biker look, Mao collars, tailoring details, etc. The colour lilac and a wide variety of plum tones stand out, along with floral gardenia prints in olive tones, suits with narrow skirts in a new length or carrot leg pants that reach the ankle. It also offers tulip coats with the volume accentuated in the sleeves, tweed jackets and tartan skirts, as well as belted cardigans to emphasise the waist. When the cocktail hour comes, the collection offers a wide range of options: from strapless satin dresses to long, romantic gowns with frills, lace or bows; simple shapes embellished with gold; and touches of feathers and fur for those winter party nights. MANGO also presents its Limited Edition collections for this season. In the Penélope & Mónica Cruz for MNG collection, the Cruz sisters add a personal touch to garments inspired by vintage style, with a daytime look that mixes both masculine and feminine elements. The evening and cocktail ranges are based on glamorous, feminine silhouettes. They are joined by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad, who has designed an exclusive Limited Edition collection for the Arab countries inspired by the glamour of the 50s. Taking Grace Kelly as its icon, the collection emphasises the waist in the silhouette, with a focus on draped fabrics, frills, halter necks and strapless necklines. The designer uses delicate fabrics such as lace, satin and muslin, giving his sophisticated garments a touch of romance and nostalgia by covering them with delicate floral prints.
