Colorado Environmental Film Festival 2012

February 23-25, 2012

 

The Colorado Environmental Film Festival (CEFF) is an exciting, inspiring, and energizing event that includes world-class environmental films with representatives from local and national organizations and companies, topical forums and discussions, and films for youth.

True to the spirit of Colorado, this event is supported and attended by people who value the natural world and share a passion for the power and beauty of film.

The event is held at the American Mountaineering Center -
710 10th Street - Golden, Colorado.

Come to the Denver Flagship store for a first look at 3 of the favorite short films from the festival's Official 2012 selection. "Chasing Water" (18 min); "Ice" (9 min); "Treeverse" (27 min).

Stapleton Recycling Event 2011

On September 3rd, Sam’s Club parking lot was a very busy place. It was the place to be if you wanted to sustainably dispose of your unwanted household items. Here are the final numbers from vendors who collected more items than they expected, but surely hoped for.

 

Metech Recycling10,000 lbs of electronics and batteries.

Xpress Shred6,700 lbs of documents shredded

Reading Tree1,466 lbs of books and movies

Red Apple Recycling1,200 lbs of clothing and shoes

The Kearns Team from RE/MAX of Cherry Creek – over 100 moving boxes

Mix Paints100 gal = 1,000 lbs of latex paint

The Bike Depot 11 bikes, 1 tricycle, 1 bike trailer + accessories

Weecycle - 50 baby relates items

Go Green Warehouse and Veterans Green Jobs15 donations = $300 worth

Plastic bags4 big boxes fully packed with bags

 

Please check out the summary report of the Greenhouse Gas and Energy Savings as a result of the Recycling Event.  For the items collected that had a weight associated with them, we were able to convert those to GHG and energy savings. Wow, what a successful event!
